A'Hallei nodded, drifting in and out of a peaceful sleep, for once unhaunted as he lay secure in his friend's arms, warm and comfortable and for once, not alone. Over time his skin became as warm as Makenna's, and his hair dried, slightly curled from the moisture, and thankfully, no more water leaked into the treehouse.

After a while, A'Hallei's green eyes blinked open, and he smiled at Makenna, still asleep in his arms. In all his life, he'd never awoken next to another human, and that moment was more touching to him than the act of rescuing him that had just preceeded it. A'Hallei leaned down and pressed a kiss to the wild black hair belonging to his friend and companion, reluctant to move. Casting his gaze outside, A'Hallei knew they had to install windows before the snow started, or they'd be in serious trouble. The weather was not all foul yet.

A'Hallei's heart leapt into his throat, first at the moan, then at the exposing of that infernal red line that now posessed him worse than his own memories. Hands trembling, he traced that streak down his neck and chest, down his soft abdomin to his waistband. Maddened, he slapped the covers down over Makenna to avoid any further temptations, looking back out the balcony as the other curled into him again.

The pale boy reached down and ran his fingers through the wild black hair of his friend and companion, revelling in the feel of the lustrious strands against his fingers. Makenna kept himself in good condition, and was the kindest, most accepting being he'd ever met in his short life. Still, he had something he wanted to protect, and A'Hallei doubted he'd ever be able to bring himself to cause harm to this boy whom he'd gotten so close to over the past few days.

Blinking, A'Hallei opened his eyes to realize day had broken once again, they had slept the entire afternoon and evening together. Curled as they were now on the cot. He'd slept so well, he hadn't a single reccolection of falling unconcious in the first place. Looking down at the beauty in his arms, he nodded, smoothing Makenna's hair where it had become mussed during the night. His own hair was hideously tangled from not combing it properly when it was wet, or putting it into managable style.

Slipping from the cot, A'Hallei stretched, listening to the pops ring off his spine and joints, unnoticing in his half nudity how his bones protruded. How anyone enjoyed the night cuddled with his bony hide he'd never know, but apparently he didn't spend too much time elbowing his friend. Grabbing a plastic bag, A'Hallei wandered down to the floor to find a place to relieve himself, using the bag to avoid getting wet, however, when he came back up, his feet were rather muddy.

Sitting cross legged on the floor, he began making window frames to mount on the walls, so they could begin insulating the house. Of course, this ment he'd have to find and pilfer glass from somewhere...Still...

It was true, something about A'Hallei's brain did not fire the chemical signals that alerted him to being hungry. In all reality, he was ravenous, though he felt no different than if he had eaten two or three hours ago. The only indication would be the rumbling his stomach created every few minutes as it steadily dissolved itself.
Sure, eventually he'd feel it- no man could starve to death without knowing so.

Within several minutes, he had crafted three beautifully well made windows, and was setting upon finding ways to install them. They'd need a door to the balcony, but would have to shut off the wall..Easy enough- when the rain let up, he'd raid the lumberyard again.

A'Hallei took the bowl and stared at it for several moments, breathing in the warm and inviting smell. Slowly he began to eat the oatmeal, savoring it's ability to warm him from the inside out. How was Makenna cleaning the dishes? A'Hallei smiled at his friend, spoon partially hanging free from his mouth as he brought over the hot chocolate. Damn what his twin thought, he was wrong.
"Thank you." He said quietly as Makenna moved off again, indeed he was, for more reasons than he could count.
