"But if the scavengers can eat it and are still alive..." he let the sentence hang there. He could certainly hear some type of animal in the kitchen, albeit small. He wondered if rats had survived, had so the larger predators? He supposed it was really none of his concern... Though they could hunt the larger animals if they ran out of canned supplies...
He opened his eyes, looking over to Isiah. "Why did you leave the vault with me?" That still didn't quite add up. "You probably could have dealt with the others easily enough."

"I was getting stir crazy," he hissed, pulling his jacket off of his shoulders, folding his jacket to place it behind his head. "And I figure, if I'm going to die, I'd rather do it out here than in there in a hole." He opened one eye to glance at the chairback that concealed the other male. "Besides. If you had gone, and I had stayed, I would have become the sole source of attention."

He gave a muffled groan and lifted himself to put his sunglasses back on. Then he repositioned himself to try and lay on the booth as if it were a bed.
"I worked alone, but I never thought I would be this uncomfortable with the absence of people." he muttered, his legs hanging over the edge and his hands behind his head as he laid on his back. It wasn't too comfortable.
After he said his line he tried to lay on his side. "Do you think we will meet any others out here?" He didn't want to be the only person left on the planet. Even Isiah would bore him eventually.

Isiah sniggered. "Maybe." He wasn't exactly thrilled with the idea of.. well, never getting laid again, wasn't the best thing ever. "Maybe not. Maybe our little vault was the last one on earth." He rolled his eyes. "I can't imagine the future of mankind if it were up to them to repopulate the planet."

"That was not what I meant." He hmphed. "I meant how many others had come out of their vaults and are wandering around like us."
He closed his eyes and tried to reposition himself comfortably enough to sleep. "I suppose it doesn't matter; you should forget I said anything."
He snorted and it wasn't long until he fell asleep. He hoped he would sleep throughout the entire day. If not, resting their legs more before dark wouldn't hurt, would it?

Isiah shrugged, opening his mouth to answer before he heard the other male shuffling into a comfortable sleeping position. He followed suit- he changed position three or four times before exhaustion got the best of him. He slept like a rock until the sun got low and began to peek through the broken shades and warm him up.
He groaned, sitting up, grumbling as he rubbed sleep out of his eyes. He heard Q's quiet, steady breathing- enough of a clue to deduce he was still asleep. He groaned quietly, pushing up onto his sore legs, stepping gingerly over the rubble in the once chain restaraunt. No harm in looking around while he waited for the other to wake up. He walked past the bar and into the kitchen, rats scurrying under old dead fridges as he did so. He grimaced, pulling open a refridgerator door before he nearly screamed in delight.
"BEER!"
Rows of unopened bottles lined the fridge shelves- their labels were faded or molded, but the bottles appeared intact. Isiah hadn't had a beer in.. well.. ten months. Ten horrible, horrible months.
He pulled a bottle out of the fridge- it was warm, of course, but he didn't care. He put the bottlecap up against his eyesocket, using his skull to pop the cap off, relishing in the hiss of carbonation as it opened before taking that first, delicious, lukewarm sip. He ducked his head out of hte kitchen, bottle in hand. "There's BEER In here!"

Bornes began to come out of it when Isiah started walking around, but the shock of Isiah's voice shouting "Beer!" caused the hybrid to fall off the booth and onto the floor. He let out a rather loud canid shout of pain, and shot up in defense, only to hit his head on the bottom of the table, another whine coming from him just as Isiah came out of the kitchen, yelling about more beer.
Bornes let out another low whine as he ducked his head and crawled out from under the table. Once free of the barriers, he sat on his knees, scratching his head as he gave a slight growl.
When he was done fuming, he craned his neck a few times, his upper lip raised, before settling his hidden gaze to Isiah. Surprisingly, his voice didn't match his pissed off body language.
"That's great. You have all you want," he hoarsed.
Bornes wasn't a huge fan of beer.

Isiah heard the fall, yelp, clank, yelp, of the canid, though he certainly didn't see it. He chuckled, walking across the room, offering his hand to help him up to his feet. "You more of a wine fan, Frenchie?" He sipped gingerly at his newfound beverage, licking his lips clean. "What I wouldn't give for a frosty glass right now, right?"

Bornes stopped rubbing his head briefly to take Isiah's hand and pull himself up. He was a bit unsteady at first, but stood on his own after a few seconds.
"Thanks," he muttered, returning to idly rubbing his head. For a mercenary, he didn't have a very high tolerance for pain.
"No," he grumbled. "I like scotch but I..." He parted his hair to the side and then faced Isiah, watching him with a frown. "It is better if I simply don't have alcohol." He waved away the excuse as if it wasn't worth talking about.

Isiah shrugged in response to the thank you, quirking a brow upward. "Oh yeah? You an angry drunk?" He finished off his beer, tossing the bottle off to the opposite side of the room they were in. No reason to be neat. He had of course forgotten to consider his friend's hearing sensitivity before he did it.

"No," Bornes stated flatly, as he watched Isiah throw the can. His brow twitched in annoyance at littering before his whole face jolted slightly at the sound. He let out a small growl. Things like this were not things he should have to deal with as soon as he woke up.
"Health problems," he shrugged.
That was only partly true. He could drink in moderation, but he just became... Extremely horny when he was drunk. And Isiah was the only person around... He didn't want the evening to turn out awkward.

Isiah leaned to the side, quirking a brow upward. "Other than you know.. possible cancer from all this radioactivity?" He shrugged. "You only live once." He looked back toward the kitchen wistfully. It would be SUCH a waste of energy to carry that beer with him.. and really it served no purpose. Alcohol only served to dehydrate. ... Then again, they could possibly barter with it, if they found anyone else...
IF there was anyone else.
"You wanna try and raid this place? See if there's anything salvageable?"

"I'm more sensitive than normal..." He got cut off. "Yeah, sure, I suppose we could." He shifted his weight and turned to the kitchen, beginning to walk over to it.
Once he got there, he started opening cabinets -- carefully, to not make much noise. A lot of it was metal -- and looking through them all. He made quick work of it. He was rather annoyed, but was trying to shrug it off.

Isiah sensed how the energy changed significantly once Bornes began to tear through the cabinets- he followed suit across the room, only going down below, pulling down anything that was of worth. He snickered at some of the things he found- canola oil, crisco, freaking lard- must have been one hell of a greasy spoon when the place was running.
He didn't find much- some tuna, some saurkraut that he was pretty sure only he would eat, some canned meat and soup.. even some bottled water, albiet carbonated. He'd take it. "Any luck on your end?"

Bornes continued to look, trying to find something. "Nothing but spam and seasoning," he muttered in reply.
He turned to Isiah, leaning his elbows against the counter behind him. He stared at the other, his head tilting to the side slightly.
"Did you have a girlfriend before the fallout?"
He immediately regretted asking it.
