Walking down the busy, main, west road, Robert, Frank, and Ward, heads for the Golden Phoenix Casino to enter some bets on Arc.
Robert: And then he used the Old Iron Knuckle, and obliterated that pirate ship! That guy had no chance at all!
Frank: Alright, Rob! We get the point!
Okay, okay, but still. Don't you think it's odd those same pirates came back? I'm pretty certain it was the same pirates.
Ward: Heck, they're pirates. They go after the good stuff, and the Vanguardian Colonies just has all the good stuff.
Yeah, we're way up there, aren't we? Technology boomed when man kind has left their home planets and began colonization in space. It's as if the limits put on us by the planets' gravity has left us.
Heh. That's beautiful, Frank. I'm not too interested in history though, so let's just get back to the topic.
They come upon a red traffic light, as a taxi hover takes a turn on the street infront of them. Meanwhile, on the other side, the pilot awaits for the traffic light to turn back to green.
Dion: I hope my credits will last me till atleast the race is over.. I need to bring back atleast something.. And it's much harder to do now with them failing that raid..
The traffic light turns back to green, with the animated walk sign of a man walking on. The crowds on both sides that had gathered to cross the road during the short wait all walks to the other side, creating small streams of people walking past each other.
So how much are you betting on Arc?
Eh, I'll put maybe 10,000 creds on him.
I guess I'll do that too. What about you, Ward?
I'm gonna play it safe and bet 5,000 credits instead.
What? You don't have faith in the kid? That kid even fought off one of the pirates at Vann Sky with a capital ship! That's quite something, you know!
*Just then, he was walking past the three at the street, over hearing their conversation. His thoughts tells himself, "?! That punk's in the race?! I am not going to lose another chance to the same kid."*
What are the odds? Anyone know the odds?
Now why the heck would we have the odds here? We're not even at the casino yet!
*Just then, he would have the odds listed from the casino on his vid-phone, and passes it to them.*
Here you go.
Ahhh... smart.
I stick with the present and look into the future. x_x History's pretty much useless in my opinion.
Eh, history can help predict some things too, ya know.
The three mechanics and the pilot parts from the scene, and continues to their way to their destinations.

The three mechanics arrives at the Golden Phoenix Casino, where the crowd seemed to be very thick, even though the races haven't started yet.
Frank: *He squeezes through the crowd to the Space Race Betting counter.*
Why the heck are there so many people?!
Robert: *Ward and him follows Frank through the crowd.*
It's no big deal, Frank. It's always like this in busy Space Colonies anyway. Although it is odd to see such a huge crowd at a Casino when the main event hasn't even started yet.
Ward: Over there.
*He points to the area where most of the crowds were looking at. There stood Alexander Fedelki, making his way out the door from the Racer Registration Counter.*
Hey, it looks like he's in the race too.
What?! Why would the newly elected Governor of Avantgarde be doing something dangerous such as this?!
He did do lots of dangerous missions before. It said so in the candidates' profile on the spacenet.
Does he pilot Mechs?
*Ignoring Rob's question and obsession of Mechs, and interrupts.*
But still, he's a governor! You know how it is when governors go around doing dangerous things as this! Assassins swarms around events like this whenever it includes someone as high as a governor! And not to meantion that these ships are fixed so that the weapons aren't lethal! Even if he was a good pilot, how would he stand up against assassins with a ship without weapons?!
Do you really think the Vanguardian Security Service would let such a thing happen? I'm sure now that Fedelki is involved, the security would be much more thicker.
.. For hating history so much, you sure do know a lot about politics.
It's not all history is it?
Yeah, but it's still basically in the same subject.
Well, being smart in politics should help cover the history part. That was pretty much how I passed that subject anyway.
Whatever.. Anyway..
*He finally reaches the betting counter after the pushing and squeezing through.*
Franklin Quediares, 10,000 creds.
... You guys betting?
We already made bets through the vid-phone.
WHAT?! Why didn't you tell me that you could do that?!
*Robert bursts into laughter.*
We wanted to see what your response would be after all this trouble getting here. XD
Oyyyy.. I fell for that one so bad..

*After a day of maintenance and repairs to his mech, Guilliam walks down the streets of Vanguard. Reaching to his chest, he flips open a pendant with a picture inside. Beside him are two men his age and a young woman, perhaps a bit younger*
Guilliam:......I once called them friends.....now I'm at this alone....
Sirch: It wasn't that long ago that you and I still fought side by side.
*Guilliam turns about face to see Sirch Aquess standing behind him. He has come wearing his traditional long jacket and a pair of dark sunglasses. His short silver hair seems to shimmer in the moonlight*
Sirch: We could have still been allies if you didn't betray us.
Guilliam: We were blessed with a gift. I won't let you use it, or the Zeta Series for evil.
Sirch: Evil is in the eye of the beholder Guilliam.
Guilliam: You......called me by my first name?
Sirch: I've not come before you as an enemy. I've come with an offer.
Guilliam: What?
Sirch: Come back with us. It's not too late. The U.E.O.R.{Unified Elite Orbital Renegades} is gaining power. We already have the Epsilon and the Omega.
Guilliam: And I will prevent you from taking the Gamma and Sigma.
Sirch: You seem to think that we don't know about the fifth.
Guilliam:.....when did you.....
Sirch: I've known for a while now.....I'm the only one that does. You.....your Alt Eisen. IT is the Alpha.
Guilliam: You are partially correct, but mostly misinformed. In either case....*Turns away from Sirch* I will not be going back with you.
Sirch: They are USING you Guilliam! Just as they used us! We are going to make sure they never use us again, and we'll do it with the very tools they built for us to use FOR them.
Guilliam: In that case, you're no better than they are.
Sirch: Then I take it you've made your decision final?
Guilliam: I have.
Sirch:.......then I have nothing more to say to you. *He turns and begins to walk into the crowded Vanguard Streets. His voice seems to echo as he drifts out of sight* The next time we meet may very well be the last.
Guilliam:..........I won't hold back like I did for those pirates.

Arc: *Taking his spare time, and visiting the large store of mechs and equipments, Nebulae Metals, he looks through the gallery of mechs, determining which one he would purchase if he were to win the one million credits from the space races. He takes elevators after elevators to get a different angled view of the Mechs, as well as listening to their capabilities and specialties, determining what will fit well for him. From listening to Robert's talk about Mechs, he thinks to himself that a fast Mech with long range moves would suit him well. But still, it is only what he has heard, and not really something he has experienced yet.*
There's quite a lot of selections here... I wonder if I can get a test drive or anything...
Woman: *A woman in an orange work uniform walks up to Arc as he returns down from an elevator, and greets him.*
Hi, are you Arcainth Eivand?
Uh.. yes. May I help you?
Yuri: Yes, I am Yuri Eldform.
*She gives Arc a hand shake with her matching gloves.*
I have heard about you on the news. You fought off some pirates at Vann Sky?
Well, actually it was only one, since they lead me away from the other pirates..
Oh, that's still quite something. By the way, are you here to buy a Mech?
Not tonight actually. I'm just here to see what kind of Mech would suit me best. I'm afraid I don't have the credits for a fully equipped Mech yet.
Oh. Well, have you decided yet? If you need help, you may ask me. I know quite a lot about Mechs.
No.. I was hoping whether if I can take a few Mechs out on a test drive or not. I think it's best if I can tell one's good or not by experience more than just detailed information.
There is a simulation of each of these Mechs at the second floor.. but I think I will get permission to let you test the real ones out. I don't really like the simulations myself anyway.
You'd do that for me?
Of course. We have all our Mechs ready at one of the government docking floors. If you would like me to, I will take you there.
That would be great.
Please follow me.
*She leads Arc to one of the back rooms through the ID Locked door.*
*He follows her into the back room, where there is a teleportation device there. They step in, and teleports themselves to the government docking floors.*

Finally back in Grand Vanguard. Ariel, send a message to the Governor telling him we're done with the Avantgarde mission and ready for a new mission. Well, I will be ready after I check my apartment and get some sleep.
Ariel:Yes sir.
Grand Vanguard security officer:Frieghter pilot Identify yourself and you will be gicen clearance to land.
*Slide my ID through the comm system and send the information.
SO:Everything checks out. Dock in bay 82.
Okay.
*I pilot my ship to the indicated bay, enter it, extend the landing jacks, and settle the ship down.*
Ariel, lock up the ship and get a tech to check the systems when we leave.
Ariel:Yes sir. Oh and I took the liberty of checking your mail. You do not have any messages.
Thanks.
*I walk out of my ship and take an elevator up to the residential are.*
Umm now where do I live. umm..Apartment 57, floor 9, building 3847. Backwards but correct.
*I begin walking in what I think might be the right direction.*
I just need to take a long walk. hmm doesn't look like it changed much. Although it looks like some new buildings around the center.
