Tal Tribal Rosa Sleeping Dog Inn
"OH!" Tal exclaimed, then rushed to one of the sidetables. A jet-black quill pen and small jar of ink were resting in one of its drawers. He quickly brought these to the young boy, assuming he knew how to use a quill.
I guess he really must be a mute....

Nikolas Palazzo Amoria Castle, Ground Floor Corridor ---> Private Quarters
Well, that was settled....
Nikolas headed to his own room at the quickest pace he could manage without arousing anyone's suspicion. He was wiping blood off his hands with a spare handkerchief, disregarding the enormous amounts of dried blood coating his robe. He could have it cleaned...or replaced. It didn't matter...What did matter, was that he now knew exactly what to do.
Everything would be taken care of tomorrow....He was certain of it. He had ordered many of the soldiers to be on guard duty, and to send out scouts to search the tunnels. So that was taken care of. And this whole messy business would be done and over with soon enough. Everything was working out...even though they had made quite a few mistakes....
...And now he needed to use a phone....

NPC Pages Palazzo Amoria Castle, Dining Hall
One young page looked at his companion nervously and sighed. They couldn't blunder on this task. This was apparently important. And if Nikolas found something important, it was MADE important to everyone. He gulped loudly, wiping a bit of sweat from his brow, and forced a smile.
"Please, madam, sir, take a seat. Someone from the kitchen will be with you shortly..."

Remetheus Tribal Rosa Sleeping Dog Inn
Remetheus took the writing utensils from Tal and dipped the quill using his right hand into the inkwell, quickly writing a word in the small book before giving the book to him. The previously blank page now held a single word written in a small and neat script, 'Remetheus'.
The small mage then laid down the quill on the floor he was sitting on but still held the inkwell in one hand, his other reaching in one of his pockets again. He rummaged around in one of his pockets for a while before taking out a metallic pen. It was about the length of his entire hand, and as thick as his little finger. Some etchings were visible but were mostly undecipherable probably due to its apparant age, looking as old and tattered as Remetheus' own clothes. He began to take the device apart, intent on refilling the pen with ink from the inkwell.

Fals Palazzo Amoria Amoria Castle, Ground Floor, Dining Hall
"Dunno, kupo. Maybe they don't have guests often?" Fals said uninterested.
One of the servants or something approached them and politely requested them to sit and saying something about someone being with them shortly. Fals raised a metaphorical eyebrow at this. They certainly were going overboard just for a mercenary and a moogle. Things never turned out great when people were too nice, though he kept his thoughts to himself.
"Thanks, kupo," he addressed the servant, "But do you think you could get me a bigger chair or something? Kupo. I don't think I can quite reach the table with the chairs at their current height."

One of the pages Nervously bowed and left to go find a box or a tome for the moogle.
"I'd guess it's Nikolas," said Dansworth as she sat down in the middle of the closest table, she knew better than to sit at the middle table. That was reserved for royalty and high officials.
"What he says goes. Even I would not cross him," She said, looking at the reflection in her dinner knife.

Lot Tribal Rosa Sleeping dog Inn
"Remetheus? Now that's a weird name," said Lot stupidly.
"That's a cool pen. Reminds me of one my friend found a long time ago. People didn't like him because he was good at finding stuff like rings or gold or jewels. Some people are just better at finding stuff I guess. I think he's in prison now." said Lot, talking more to himself than anyone else.

Johnny Palazzo Amoria Castle, Ground Floor Corridor ---> Private Quarters
He peered around the corner of a faintly lit doorway, his shaggy black hair falling playfully infront of crimson eyes. The man that he had grown to respect walked past him, barely glancing at him. He stooped back behind the archway, his hands deep in his black robe pockets. He shook his head, waving the thoughts of disapproval from his head. He had been training for years now, and yet, he had never felt the blood of another man on his axe blade. He straightened up, and slowly mustering up the courage, strided down toward the most secluded spot of the castle, Nikolas's room. As he walked, his clenched his gloved fingers tight to his palm. He had never asked his caretaker for anything, though he was given everything. He stood at the closed door for a moment, the fears slowly dissipating around him. Nikolas could smell fear. He knocked on the door, awaiting some acknoledgement. After a few seconds, a voice came from the other side. He opened the door, latching his eyes onto Nikolas before his eyes began to search around the never seen room. "Nikolas, I have been your obedient son for years. I have recieved nothing but kindness on your end, though I have never asked for anything. This makes me even more grateful. And you found a place for my trusted companion to sleep. I, again, thank you," he pondered over all the things that he was thankful for, hoping not to miss any more broad generalizations. "I want to be at your side at the next battle, and become one of your army, even if I must start as a lowly private." He stood, unflinching, ready for whatever his 'father' would throw at him.

Tal Tribal Rosa Sleeping Dog Inn
Tal nodded at the writing on the paper, then smiled back at the young mage boy. "Remetheus, eh?" he said, his warm, faintly thick accent coating the name in an unusual way. He ignored Lot's rambling for the moment. He was starting to think it would be a commonplace thing for him. "Well, welcome aboard, Remetheus. Glad we've finally got a name to call ya....And now...Everybody..." here he glanced around the room at his current companions: Remetheus, Akara, and Lot.
"I've got a few things to talk to y'all about, before we all go to sleep. I hope y'all don't mind..." He paused for a moment, waiting to see if anyone had any objections...

Nikolas Palazzo Amoria Private Quarters
He had been standing in the doorway to his own secluded room when he heard the voice. He spun around on his heel to see Johnny standing there before him, staring at him with a look of determination....Determination and...longing? He gave a slight smile as he put away his handkerchief.
"Really now? And tell me, young one: what would you do in an army? What would you do at my side on the battlefield, other than get in my way and cause me to make a fatal error, or slow me down ridiculously? I fear you are still much too inexperienced for such dangers. You should keep your head out of the clouds of misconstrued faerie tales, and bury it in books, as you should."
His smile had slowly faded during the length of his harsh words, but here now it began to creep back onto his face. It was true, he could be a complete viscious creature, but he did feel a touch of compassion for the young man. "However.....Actually...They say the best teacher is experience....Very well....You may join us in the campaign tomorrow. You'll need to wake up rather early in the morning. But for the time being, you should head to the dining hall for dinner. I can tell you haven't eaten, so don't bother opening your mouth to argue. You can become acquainted with your new comrades, who should be down there by now. Now, go, and make certain to get some rest...."
And without waiting for a response, he turned to the door once again. He quickly opened it and vanished inside, hastily closing the door behind him. Phone...where was the phone....?

Lot Tribal Rosa Sleeping Dog Inn
"No, go ahead," said Lot, knowing that Tal was probably talking to him. Once lot started rambling, it was often hard for him to stop. He was used to being told to shut up. Lot also knew Tal would probably answer his questions, including if they had time to stop at that awesome ramen shop near the center of town.

Johnny Palazzo Amoria Castle Corridors > Dining Hall
He strolled down the long hallway, darkness consuming his every step. He didn't really mind this, for he was accustom to them. However, he was so lost in thought that he almost passed the stairwell leading to the main lobby. "I am not a burden, am I? Of course not, he was just giving me a hard time. I'll show him how proficient I have become since our last battle," he thought aloud, before shaking the notions from his head. He knew that he needed to not make a complete a** out of himself infront of his new allies.
He stood at the doors to the hall, his head slightly disarrayed. He brushed it lightly with his finger. He sighed, stood as straight as possible, and opened the door. He took a few steps in before noticing the men that we suppose to be there were gone. Only a woman and a moogle sat as his table. He scratched his head before approaching the woman, and bowing," Um, Hi. My name is...." he paused for a moment, thinking of what Nikolas called his, "Johnny. I am looking for allies in the battles that will soon proceed. Have you seen a few warriors around here?"

Dansworth laughed at Johnny's question. "Now that you mention it, no I haven't," she said as her laughter died down. "Well, except for Fals here," she added as an after thought. "Yet another useless brute," she thought to herself. First, the wimps in the tunnel, now this guy who looks like he was more muscle than man. There probably wasn't anything special about him.

Fals Palazzo Amoria Amoria Castle, Ground Floor, Dining Hall
"Ehh? I'm not much of a warrior, kupo." The moogle said, tilting his head. "If anyone's a warrior it would be you. Kupo." He was covertly appraising the new arrival, Johnny who was looking for warriors, which were most likely him and the woman, but he seemed like he was expecting something else...
Like a large number of soldiers, Fals recalled. He wondered what had happened to them anyway. Were they still in the tunnel? Nikolas didn't really bother with them and probably hadn't given them a second thought upon arriving at the castle. It was kind of pathetic. Out of all those soldiers, two were strong enough to be noticed by Nikolas, and one of them wasn't even a soldier. Since Johnny was sent here, he should be pretty strong, or at least, strong enough.
Done with his appraisal, he gestured towards one of the seats with one hand. "Take a seat, kupo?"

A look of dumbfoundedness crept on his face. He knew that he had made a terrible error in judgement of their characters. He sat down, looking forward, his body statued. "I apologize for my, lack of good judgement. I must admit I was nervous meeting others that were worthy under the eyes of Nikolas." He looked to the moogle, trying not to stare, but he was awestruck. He had only seen one in his life, and that was before he could walk. "So, Fals is it?" he smiled. Someone else, beside him, was otherwise a cuddly person. "What brings you to the castle?"
((And for the record. I am not very muscular. Like, I guess he is kind of ripped, but not really... Should do a character check before you throw that in there... biggrin but all is well. Now my guy is super gunz megee))

Dansworth Palazzo Amoria Dining Hall
"Whatever, I'm used to it," said Dansworht, looking back to her knife.
Various other guests filtered into the dinning hall, all gave the three at the table a wide berth. Dinner would begin shortly. Dansworth hoped they were serving beef, but Chicken was the norm at such social events.

Fals Palazzo Amoria Amoria Castle, Ground Floor, Dining Hall
"Well, I was minding my own business and some guys found me and tried to kill me for some reason or other, kupo." Fals said, addressing Johnny's question. "I ran away and Nikolas and Dansworth here found me and helped me out. I tagged along with them since I didn't have anything to do at the moment and here I am."
A vague answer, but true nonetheless. Some of the other people in the room were looking at them unabashed, and the moogle didn't think that they deemed eavesdropping on them beneath them considering their interest. Some of the servants looked especially fearful, probably at the thought of Nikolas or something, but he knew that wasn't enough to totally stave off their curiosity.. He was getting annoyed at being stared at and inwardly groaned at the thought of having to watch his behavior at all times. No matter though, it was easy enough to fool people. He'd just have to get used to acting dumb, cute, and naive at all times again.

Tal Tribal Rosa Sleeping Dog Inn
Not recieving any objections, Tal brushed a hand through his dark green hair and sighed before beginning what he knew would be a long explanation.
"Well...Okay....First of all....I can't decieve any of you any longer. You should know that I'm an outlaw in this kingdom. Thief, pirate, assassin, extortionist, whatever word you can think of...I've done it all..."
Here he gently placed his left hand on his dagger, prepared to draw it and defend himself if any of them decided to try to capture him. He didn't really think any of these people were as terrible as all that, but his experiences in life had taught him to never get too comfortable with anyone, no matter what.
"So...I'll let y'all take that in for a minute...If you're not cool with it, just let me know, and we can go our separate ways....Unless you want this to end ugly..."

Nikolas Palazzo Amoria Castle, Private Quarters
Telephones were such a pain....One of the more recent technological advances in this kingdom, and helpful, but they could be so irritating. Nikolas had flopped into a luxurious velvet-covered cushion couch, a grey telephone reciever in his right hand. He had been waiting for someone to pick up on the other end for about ten minutes now....
...And he was still waiting.
"Damn it all....You'd think with all the money we're pumping into this worthless city, we could afford better communications services...AH!" he suddenly exclaimed as someone picked up the line with:
"Hello?"
"How many times do I have to tell you? That's no way to answer the telephone! You must be more polite, more proper."
"Oh..I'm sorry, Lord Nikolas..."
"Forget it. Now, put me through to the Master."
"Yes, my lord...."
A few more minutes of silence, and he could finally make his report. He sighed once again and reached for a bottle of alcohol on the sidetable next to his seat.

NPC Pages Palazzo Amoria Castle, Dining Hall
One of the pages returned from the kitchen, announcing that dinner would soon be served. As if on cue, several attendants gracefully stepped into the hall, each bearing large trays of covered dishes. They quickly set each dish onto a specific place on the table, then removed the lids and placed them on the trays, then carried the empty trays and lids back into the kitchen.
When all the lids were removed, the entire grand feast could be plainly seen: large oval plates full of steaming hot venison, bowls of chicken, both fried and boiled. Some of the bowls of boiled chicken were also filled almost to the brim with rich brown gravy. Large pots full of boiled diced potatoes, and rolls of bread stuffed with eggs, cheese, and ground beef.
Even more attendants entered now, each bearing large silver goblets, which they set down next to the girl and the moogle, as well as in vacant spots before each vacant spot, as if they were expecting more people. One of them smiled and winked at Johnny, as if he somehow knew he would have been joining them tonight.
And then, as quickly as they had entered, everyone was gone, leaving the three warriors to themselves.

Akara sat silently for a moment, one brow arched in thought.
"Well, as long as you don't try to kill me in my sleep, I think we'll get along just fine," she finally said. "This should be a hell of a lot more interesting than the life I left behind. That's all the convincing I need."
She sat up, looking Tal in the eyes.
"If we're going to follow you though, I think it's only fair to know what we're expected to do and what exactly your motivations are. Mister Outlaw."

Dansworth Palazzo Amoria
Dansworth turned to the moogle. "Don't eat anything until the royalty get here," she said as a warning to Fals. The food was set out as a trap. Those who were caught eating when the royalty entered faced imprisonment. Dansworth had seen someone dragged off by the guards for that crime. The next time the noble was seen, he was pale and frail looking.
Lot Tribal Rosa
Lot shrugged. "It's fine by me. I'm not exactly a part of society anyway," he said truthfully. After spending most of his life traveling, Lot had spent sometime with less than reputable characters. He had learned that not all outlaws were bad, and not all enforcers of the law were good. "However, I will leave if I don't like the direction we're headed," he added.
