'No, no no no no.' Vlaityn's mind pushed and pushed against that horrible, wicked thought. 'Eloise Callēndentē? Dead? No, no. That had to be wrong. She's supposed to be alive.'

But the utter anguish and distraught that seemed to be ravaging through Joel's system was enough proof for anyone. Joel's mother was dead, by some cruel, cancerous trick of the Gods.

Which brought another point to light. Joel was alone. Vlaityn bit her lip when she considered this. She knew Joel's father was gone, and that he was an only child. And now Eloise? She shook her head, feeling an unbearably large wave of sadness and despair for Joel build up inside of her. It wasn't fair at all. Joel, one of the happiest, nicest people you would ever meet. 'How could such a thing happen to him?'

"Joel, God damn. I mean, just." Vlaityn tried to form the words. But what would they do? Would they even help? No, just useless comforts she'd be throwing his way. Just one of a million he'd get. She couldn't help him. And that fact just killed her. "I'm so sorry Joel." Vlaityn murmured as her lip quivered. With extreme timidness, she slowly wrapped her arm around Joel's shoulders, hoping she wouldn't, at least, make the situation any worse.

Sezer's eyes widened behind his thin-rimmed spectacles. He stopped short. He just stopped. His heart skipped a beat, his hand dropped from his tie, and his eyes stopped looking at his friend. He just stopped. There's no other word for it. Mrs. Callendente was gone? He'd never spend another day with Joel's mother? What cruel twist of fate was this. He'd spent a few days with her when visiting Joel over the summer; she was cheerful. Always welcoming him with open arms as if he were her second son. And now she was gone. Of course, his pain was nothing compared to Joel's. Still though.

Sezer screwed his eyes shut. A thought occurred to him. He could take his glasses off, that way he wouldn't see the anguished look on his best mate's face. But he could still hear him. And the picture from sound alone his brain would paint, he knew, would be ten times worse than what it actually looked like. He opened his eyes, if somewhat unwillingly, and wrapped an arm over Vlaityn's arm. He looked at his friend with a pained expression, though he furiously attempted to conceal it.

"I'm sorry, mate." Was all he said. For he, like Vlaityn, knew that he could so not a thing to make it better. Nothing could make it better. "I'm so sorry."

Joel stiffened beneath the weight of both Vlaityn and Sezer. His expression had faded from that angered look, to a blank stare. His arms went limp beside him, his hair fluttered rather oddly against his face. He looked almost completely 'straight' at the moment, his hair completely bland, and that morning he hadn't bothered to put an earring in. He looked, almost normal.
"Thanks. Really."

There really wasn't much he could say. His mother was gone, and his friends were by his side. He could kiss them both. However, it would be really, really strange kissing Sezer, and Sezer would surely kill him if he kissed Vlaityn.
However, even with all these problems that he just encountered, a small smile appeared on his face.

Wow. These guys are truly amazing. Maybe I can get them to help me out with organizing my mothers estate. I assume that everything is going to me..Or, at least I hope so.

"You both are so wonderful. Though, the worst thing is the fact that all of this responsibility is being dumped on my shoulders. The estate, the finances, the bills. I don't know a single thing about paperwork...I'm screwed."

As he smiled, He let them put they arms around him. He could hug them forever, though, that would be really strange if any of them had to go to the bathroom.
"I think I'm going to be fine. That is, until I go home to an empty house this christmas..." That moment, the twang of realization hit him. He wouldn't have a christmas with family anymore, no one to take care of him while he was sick.
The frown came back.

Vlaityn felt her insides untwist slightly as Joel started to talk. Talking was good. It showed sign that at least he was stable. And Joel suffering from insanity due to severe sadness and loss was really not a pleasant thought. Vlaityn patted Joel on the cheek affectionately, shaking her head at his statement about paperwork. "You're not screwed. When was the last time we ever let you be screwed?" A sad, morose smile flitted across her face. "I'll try to help, if you want it, that is. I mean, if everyone else can organize bills and such, I'm sure we can figure it out. Hopefully."

Although her heart was still aching for him, Vlaityn patted Joel on the arm comfortingly with a small smile. Until he mentioned spending Christmas alone. 'What a horrible thought. Nope, we can't have that.'

"No way. That's not happening." Vlaityn finished with slight severity. No friend of her's was spending such a Holiday in an empty house, especially with such wounds so fresh. But what would he do? Vlaityn's frown deepened as she considered the options.

"What are you, barmy?" Sezer inquired incredulously. Just then, however, the little voice in the back of his head, the very same one that had minutes ago been coaching him on his feelings for Vlaityn, now informed him that that was quite a rude thing to say - especially to someone who'd just lost their mother. But, he'd retorted, it's better than walking on glass around him. I'm confident Joel doesn't wish to be treated like some new-born cornish pixie.

"You're not spending Christmas alone, mate." He informed his friend with a solid expression. "Not if I have anything to say about it." And, feeling as if he sounded rather like a head-strong Gryffindor, he cleared his throat, regaining more of that Sezer-ish air he so adored and was so skilled at manipulating. "It just isn't done."
(Did you lot see? All class roleplays are to be finished by today! Such a shame! But Christmasness is coming, so we can all do that. <33)

"And Sezer always has plenty to say." Vlaityn joked and tried to smile as encouragingly as she could at Joel without trying to over-do it. "Christmas can be with friends too, Joel. And I'm sure that I'm controlling enough to make sure you have some fun for the holidays."

'And how are you going to pull that one off, hmmm?' Her mind retorted. She was jumping into action without a plan. 'Well, sometimes that's just what you gotta do. I'll just play it by ear.'

Sezer patted his friend's shoulder, still quite uncomfortable with the current situation, and yet obviously doing his best to make Joel feel better. Comforting was just about the only thing that boy wasn't a genius at without even trying. "You bet." He smiled a little. "Absolutely, mate," he withdrew his hand, leaving it to hang awkwardly at his side, now without anything to do. "You can always spend Christmas at my house. And, heck, New Years, as well." His smile became a little more relaxed.

"Paperwork? Now, now, Joel, I'd've thought you knew me a bit better. You know how much I love boring rubbish such as paperwork. I'd be happy to help you."
