Sehnin's eyes shone brightly, the indigo prevailing over the gold for the moment, and the moment her feet hit the ground she started running around in circles through the flowers, arms spread like wings, giggling with excitement. Many of the flowers were nearly as tall as she was, but it didn't daunt her: she stopped and turned back to Joruri, still giggling happily.
"Come, Papa!" she beckoned for him to join her. "Help me find ones that Mama will like the best!"
Ruque's eyes grew even wider, but he grinned proudly as Niyana handed him her new herb pouch. Now he felt doubly honoured, and very grown up.
"Thank you!" he beamed, clutching the pouch close. "I'll be back, don't you worry about me! I know the way! I won't get lost!"
And with that, he grinned and ran off towards the east.
Idhril looked up at Niyana once more as her sister in law sat next to her, swallowing hardly at Niyana's words.
"What if it was family that created the burden?" she asked in a small voice before she could stop herself. Suddenly realizing what she had said, she bit her lip and lowered her eyes once more, hugging her knees to her chest and rocking back and forth slowly.
A cold fury grew in Celebor's eyes.
"Family?" he repeated softly, so softly that his voice was barely audible. "As in ... our entire family? Or ..."
An elf, he suddenly remembered Niyana telling him. He looked at his mate sharply. An elf ... it couldn't have been Ruque, he was always with either Celebor or Niyana ... Corrah? He was big enough and strong enough ... but Celebor doubted that Joruri would be able to rescue Idhril if that had been the case. Besides that, Idhril had said it was family ... But that left only one other elf ...
He locked eyes with Niyana, and without even meaning to his thoughts blazed across to her.
Ruran ...

Joruri smiled softly and nods starting to walk slowly towards the field watching as his beautiful daughter spin. He felt his cheeks heat up a bit. "You just wish to to get her one?" He nods, "Then we will have to make sure that it is a really really pretty one."
As the furry of her mate's though scalded her mind Niyana forced herself to be calm for Idhril's sake, "Well then Idhril if it is a family member we will deal with it as best we can. But you should not feel like you can not talk to us because it is a family member. I don't want this to happen to you again....so we need to know."
She only let her eyes fall from Celebors so she could look at Idhril as she brushed her hair back gently. "My sister...was it Ruran..." she asked as softly as she could. Maybe if she guessed it it would be easier on her elven sister. And saying it would allow them to see her reaction.
He tried to get close to her even as a surprise...But could a child really do so much to her? I am not saying it is not him...but if it is...what can we do? Her mind was not as calm as her voice was being to the storm of her mate's mind.

Sehnin's entire face glowed with pleasure as Joruri came with her, and she darted back to him and tried to hold his hand as they walked. But she was too short ... she couldn't reach his hand ... so she took a handful of his pants instead, holding tightly and grinning up at her father happily.
"I bet that together we can find the most beautifullest flower in the whole world!" she giggled.
Idhril looked sharply up at Niyana. She had said too much ... now what? She couldn't deny it, she would never lie ... but how could she pit her dear friend and her brother against their own family? Their own flesh and blood, as rare as that was in a world like this?
"He didn't ... actually," she stuttered, trying to undo the damage she had done, "he just ... tried ... and ... and ..."
Tears welled up in her eyes once more. She didn't remember a lot of it ... him hitting her, her injury ... and then waking up in Joruri's arms ...
Celebor held Idhril tighter, rubbing her back protectively, soothingly, though his eyes were on his mate, and they were smouldering.
"Idhril," he murmured softly, "an attempt is just as bad as succeeding."
He wanted to say more, but he didn't trust himself at the moment. His fury was the greatest he had ever known - how could his own son have attempted to ravage his sister? Perhaps it was a good thing he had attempted it as a child ... as a teen he would almost have certainly succeeded, and as an adult even more so.
We have to find Ruran, he thought to Niyana, eyes blazing. He must be punished.

Joruri could not help but chuckle at Sehnin's speech. He didn't have the hear to correct her words. "Yes Joruri is should we can..." he made sure to walk slow and with shallow steps so he would not jerk his daughter around.
His recessive nature made him a wonderful father for one so small. "Sehnin still wants a purple flower for her mother yes?"
Niyana had to fight her own demons but she knew for Idhril's sake she had to be strong for all of them. "Idhril...it is okay...you do not have to try and cover it up. We will go and have a talk with our son after we have fixed you up." She smiled softly at her sister in law. "I don't know if I could ever forgive myself for something of my blood trying to harm you...and I am very thankful that your do...your mate could protect you, I take it that is where the new scar came from?" She would now try to change the subject away from it. She had forced Idhril to remember too much so now she would try to calm her sister again.
She even gave a laugh, "I think he is even more handsome with it...you might be careful Idhril...He is more handsome that Celebor and I might have to try and steal him away."
She brought her eyes back up to her mates and nodded. She could feel his anger and that of her own. I agree...I don't know how we can punish him but we must work this out...poor Idhril...

Sehnin giggled.
"Purple or blue!" she agreed cheerfully, running to keep up with her father's longer stride. "Because Mama wears purple but you wear blue, and I wear both of them, and maybe if we can find some of the right flowers they can make her think of us!"
She giggled and let go of Joruri's pant leg, skipping ahead, hands skimming the tops of the flowers as she went.
Idhril looked up at Niyana sadly, her eyes filled with alarm.
"Don't blame yourself!" she admonished her sister-in-law quickly. "There is nothing to forgive on your part! It wasn't your fault!"
She lowered her eyes and sniffled a bit, but she was slightly calmer now, thinking about Joruri. She thought about the wounds he had received, and how she had tended him, and how he had tended her ...
"Joruri was damaged to save me," she murmured softly, wiping her cheeks with the back of her hand. "He was hurt ... very badly ... I ... gave him some of my hair to replace his string ... and ... I tried to stop him bleeding ... and it stopped ... and he ..."
But at Niyana's final comment, Idhril stared at her blankly. They would steal Joruri away from her? She tensed for a moment, suddenly fearing her brother and his mate ... until she realized that Niyana had been joking, and then she relaxed once more and even allowed herself a small smile.
Celebor smiled and hugged Idhril warmly, but his thoughts were dark. He would be having more than just a chat with that boy - he just hoped he could control his temper at least a little bit.
Poor Idhril, indeed, he agreed with his mate by thought, but poor Ruran by the time I get through with him. When Ruque comes back, you take him home - I'm heading to the mountain to find Ruran and deal with him.

Joruri nods, "Sehnin is very cleaver. Lets see if we can find some purple and blew flowers." he walked to where he could see some lilac flowers among the yellow and golds. "Does Sehnin see any purple flowers?"
He could feel the uneasiness within his mate and it was driving him wild...but he had been given orders to make sure Sehnin did not see or know so he had to force himself not to return to Idhril's side.
Niyana reached out to stroke Idhril's cheek, "I helped bring Ruran into the world dear sister...I should take blame for not seeing and being able to prevent this." she said softly.
"You did a wonderful job fixing Joruri...apart from the new scar I could not tell he had been hurt...and his arm look much better with your hair as his wire...it looks stronger and more pure...like the love I know he feels for you."
Niyana's eyes turned up to Celebor's You are not going alone...I have things to say to him as well! And besides...Ruque and I will be fixing up your sister first. She sighed removing her hand from Idhril's cheek and moving to work threw her bag. Your too angry to deal with Ruran right now...You wont think. her mental voice was calm even in the swirling darkness of Celebor's anger and the pain in her own mind. She did not know why but she felt her mate slipping from her. Some how she did not think that they would ever be as close as they had been. Ruran was only furthering the slow gap and Niyana felt with her and Celebor.
"And don't worry Idhril...we will have you fix up just as well as you fixed Joruri."

Sehnin looked around, just about prancing through the flowers as she searched with her eyes for one that was purple or blue.
"There's one!" she announced suddenly, pointing at a bunch of violets. "Lots of them!" She giggled and ran towards the flowers that were nearly as tall as she was.
Celebor closed his eyes to hold back his anger. Niyana was right ... he had to calm down and think about this rationally. He took a deep breath. He was grateful for Niyana's thoughts in his head ... without her, he would be lost. If he went anywhere without her, he would not be able to control himself ... never had he been so angry.
I am sorry, he thought back to his mate, calmer now and thinking straight. For ... everything.
He would make it up to her, he swore.
Idhril couldn't help but smile at Niyana's compliment about how she had fixed up Joruri.
"I love him," she murmured, "so much that I can't even say ... and I think ... that it helped me to heal him ... because I've never been able to do so well ..."
She bit her lip anxiously and looked up at Niyana, trying to ignore the strange feeling that she was getting from her brother.
"Can you fix it so that there won't be a scar?" she asked softly. "So that I don't have to tell Mama what happened? I ... don't want her to know ..."

Joruri nods and watched her run, "Yes indeed...though are very beautiful...we can get quiet a few of them for her...a whole bunch." Sehnin was for sure Idhril's daughter. They were so very much alike. He was truly blessed.
Niyana shook her head gently to her mate You have nothing to be sorry for...we both created Ruran...and were blind to his ways.
She looked back at Idhril as the young elf looked up at her. She nods, "Yes I can if that is your wish....Your hair will cover the stitching and the scar will be so thin that anyone who looked at your head or hair would just think it was a natural part or a natural scar that many people have on their heads."
She patted her sister in law's leg, "All will be well dear sister...and you can trust I wont be letting Ruque test his skills on you." she laughed softly.

"But what about some blue flowers, Papa?" Sehnin asked Joruri, looking up at him anxiously. "We have to find some blue flowers too, blue like you! Are there any blue flowers anywhere? I'm too little to see!"
She held up her arms to Joruri so that he could pick her up so that she could see further away from where she stood (rather than just a few feet).
Celebor watched Niyana sadly. Nor are you to blame, he replied. We will work this out ... together.
Idhril smiled, finally calm, as Niyana patted her leg. "I'm sure that Ruque will be a fine healer," she told her sister in law softly. "But thank you for taking care of me yourself. Mama has been through so much unhappiness already ... and she has just now received some real happiness ... I would not want to spoil that for her."

Joruri knelt down and took her daugher within his hands then he lifted her above his head holding her as high as his arms would go. The movement was slow and smooth so he would not scare her. "Do you see any Sehnin dear?" If she still could not see too far then Joruri would test his wings and see if he could actually fly instead of just glide.
Niyana moved her hand to rest it on Celebor's shoulder. Yes together. She smiled at Idhril and winked again, "Well I am sure she will be even more happy when you should her and your father your little goddess given surprise."

Sehnin squealed excitedly as she was raised high above Joruri's head, and once she was up there, she clapped her hands happily.
"I can see so much more now!" she beamed. "I'm so high up!" She giggled, unable to help herself. "You're so tall, Papa!"
Then she put one hand to her brow to shade her eyes from the bright midday sun, searching for anything that looked blue. Little did she know that there was almost no such thing as blue flowers - and so of course she was determined to look until she found one.
"Nothing yet," she murmured in disappointment, looking down between her dangling feet at her father's head. "Maybe somewhere else?"
Idhril blushed softly but smiled proudly at her sister in law. "Yes, I'm sure she will be!" she agreed cheerfully, her terror of moments before nearly forgotten. She had never dreamed that sharing her burden with someone who cared about her would make her feel so much better! But it did, and she was grateful, even if she did not voice her gratefulness yet.

Joruri smiles, "Joruri is not too tall, Sehnin's uncle is very tall." he brought Sehnin down to hold her against his chest, "Shall we collect the purple flowers and then go and find some blue ones?" He lifted his daughter to kiss her cheek, "Sehnin's mother will be so proud of her."
Niyana nods, "Yes you have lots to tell her...maybe you should let your dear brother know wail we wait for my son to return here so we can make you right as rain dear Idhril."

Sehnin giggled and snuggled against her father's cheek. "But you are so much taller than I am," she pointed out with a giggle, "so to me you are very tall!"
And even if he was short, that didn't matter to Sehnin. He would always be tall in her eyes, if only as a figure that she looked up to, loved and respected, and not physically.
Idhril nodded, excited once more, and turned to her brother with a wide smile on her face.
"Joruri and I have a daughter!" she told him brightly. "She's so sweet! One of the goddesses brought her here this morning while we were out, we don't know which one, but she's such a sweet little girl! Her name is Sehnin!"
Celebor's eyes grew wide with surprise at this bit of news. Unlike the fact that Idhril had taken Joruri as her mate, this one was wholly unexpected.
"Really?" he asked, raising one eyebrow. He glanced up at Niyana. "That's amazing!"

Joruri smiles and kissed the top of Sehnin's head after her nuzzle. "Sehnin is very right. Joruri will be as tall as he can for her and Idhril." he smiled and spread his wings, "Shall we try to get a higher look?"
Niyana seeing how happy her sister in law got let out a relaxed sigh. Thank god they were getting her happy again. As Celebor looked up she nods. "It is quite amazing...the goddess must suport thier matting and knew that Idhril and Joruri wouild make good parents. Sehnin is with her father right now so that she would not have to see her mother getting stitched up."
She nods, After Joruri save Idhril...and she fixed up his wounds...they made love and became mates...and this morning when they returned to t he cave there she was...that is all I know.

Sehnin squealed and hugged Joruri tightly around his neck.
"Yes yes yes!" she giggled happily. "Up high, very high! Just like a birdie in the sky!"
She blinked in surprise, then giggled again. "I made a rhyme, Papa! A rhyme for you! Up high, in the sky!" She nuzzled his face again, excited to discover that she had the ability to do something fun.
Idhril nodded seriously. "Sehnin is just beautiful," she murmured softly. "And Joruri is so wonderful with her ... I love watching the two of them together ... I really do ..."
Her eyes flickered up towards Niyana. "Are you going to stitch me up now or are you going to wait for Ruque to come back?" she asked curiously. "You sent him to find some herbs for a sleeping draught ... do I still need it? I'm calm again ..."
Celebor folded his hands in his lap and smiled at Idhril, but he was now only paying attention to his mate.
I know Idhril has been in love with him ever since she found him, he offered, even though she was only a child. She's always attentive, but ... she treated Joruri differently. Our brother, Silvrendir, predicted from the moment that she took him home that she would move here with him and become his mate.
And who was he to judge? At least the family had gotten a chance to meet Joruri before they had mated; Celebor had mated Niyana on their second meeting, and no one but Idhril had even ever met her or heard of her before that time.
