[Nope, Em's got ya, Silver. 3nodding ]

With the help fo Kale, barking quietly and turning his head to indicate direction, they followed their path backwards from where they came. It was a slow, tedious, tiresome journey. Each of the gypsies had their own ailment or load, and no one spoke. The feelings in the group were muddled, a mixture of pain, confusion, and relief. Pierre was uncomfortable without his mother and cried, no matter what lullabies Marissa sang to calm him. It was a long road home.

[Er, feel free to intervene with whatever went on here. I'm not definitavely saying we made it back- but we're on our way, I s'pose.]

((^_^ Fast forward. Mwa ha ha.))

When Val awoke in the morning, she was sore from her head to her toes- everything ached, and every magical incantation that went through her head caused her pain. She'd been barely conscious for the walk back to the caravan- and the only words she'd spoken were orders for the women to take the caravan over to the other side of Mulden- they were safer there, closer to the village. Someone else had taken hold of the Whistle Stick- she didn't know if it had been Caroline or Missa- her mind was still in a fog of pain- but she'd fallen under the spell of sleep once more, and now that they were settled, and the morning was breaking through the window slats- everything came back to her. The abduction, the rescue... Kale had been injured, and her rage... had almost cost Silver her life. Lesh had been blind... they had the children back, but she was ashamed at the cost.

She stood, still in the soiled skirts of the night before, and reeled from the spinning pain the movement gave her. But she had to move- so she propped a walking cane under her arm- it was an object she had been planning to use as a Fortunette for some time, but hadn't yet had the right time to use it. For now, though, it helped propel her out of Whistle Stick and down onto the ground. The wagons were encircled.

The first thing she wanted to do... was to see if Silver was alright- or to see if Lesh had regained her sight. But she held back her desire, and instead did what a leader had to do- she called the group together, for things needed to be said. She rang the gathering bell, still propped against the cane, and waited for the women to come free of their wagons.

A bell could be heard and it hit the girls ears loud and clear. She was oblivious to events that had just happened because she had been off wandering again. Something that maybe would get her in trouble but then for now she was happy with what she had found. A lamp. Even though it was just a lamp she took a great liking to it and decided it would go everywhere with her. She smiled as she headed towards the meeting where she would find something she didn't expect.

Emelyn was just waking from a deep sleep when the bell sounded. Her first thought was one of relief- Val must have woken from her injuries, after the terrible night they'd all faced. Pierre, however, was less charitable at having been woken up. His darkly ringed eyes popped open, and his baby fists flew in every direction, making a sort of sign language translation of his screams.

"Shhhh, beb," Em said, throwing her quilt off her legs and sitting up in the trundle bed. "It's just a meeting." She lifted her son to her shoulder and soothed him by rubbing his back. "Shh... it seems all you ever do is fuss, little one." He hiccuped in protest and she laughed, slipping on her sandles and walking down into the circle that the wagons created.

She saw Val near Whistle Stick, leaning on a gnarled stick... but her eyes were mostly focused on the newcomer she could see, making her way between the wagons. She'd been attracted by the bells, it seems. Em walked over to the woman, Pierre still at her shoulder.

"Ho, stranger. ....Are you from Mulden?" She asked, cautiously.

((EDIT))

"Come..." she said, before the woman had a chance to answer, 'You can sit in on our meeting. Gypsies love guests." And Em took a seat on one of the firestones that encircled their temporary hearth, waiting for Valelldia to speak.

((Alright, just because I don't yet know when I'm leaving, I'll post this as if a good number of people are already around. You can still make posts about hearing the bell and coming to the meeting- just a little time warp going on here. XD Fun stuff.))

"Thank you all for coming," Val said, her voice soft, but resonating over the dead campfire. "I wanted to talk to everyone about what happened last night... and about... regrets." She limped forward on her makeshift cane.

"I don't know why those men tried to steal the children. But I've been speaking with Lesh, and she thinks that it's related to nightmares she's been having, and a similar circumstance in those dreams. I think that they may have been trying to sap powers from the infants- and that we got there just in time. ...You were all so brave," she said, "and I am in awe of your power and your strength. I regret... so much, that so many people were injured last night. I'm sorry that I wasn't watching close enough, and that I didn't uphold my vow to protect you all. The children were stolen, Leshy'ae went blind... Kale was injured, Caroline was almost torn apart by the men, and Silver..." she didn't make eye contact with anyone at the gypsie's name... "I am so heartbreakingly sorry that I lost control, and that I caused you such pain." She didn't say it- but it also had caused damage to Aisrhan... for how could the child trust her now? And how would this affect the child's quest to become a Fortunette, rather than a darkling? It was all so dim... this future that last night's happenings had wraught.

"I want to protect you all," she said, "and so I've made a decision. I'm placing you in charge of your own destinies for a few days... and I'm going to go into the west. I will travel alone, by horse- and I will return... with my sister." Her voice, if it had been quiet before, was now almost a whisper. "We shared the same father. Her name is Oqaia. And I shall bring back anyone along the way that has the spark... that they belong with us. ...We can only survive in numbers, and in our strength as a group. In my absence... I ask of you all three things. That you take care of each other... that you watch for those with the spark, and allow them to join us... and that you give the caravan a name. We've gone too long as a family, to be an unnamed unit. ...I love you all," she said, tears glistening in her eyes, "and I take the responsibility for the terror of last night. I hope you all can forgive me."

And with that, she hobbled back into her wagon to make preparations for her departure.

Marissa had been awake and sitting on the front steps of her caravan for somewhat like two hours. So when Val rang the bell she was ready to stand and walk to the circle. Kale was in the leather sack her grandfather had given her when she was younger, handmade by him, it was embriodered with a twisting tree and was strapped to her front like a baby-carrier. Kale 's head and paws poked out; his left one was bandaged loosely. It was bulging, for the arrowhead was still in his paw- whenever Marissa tried to remove it it would cut the weak tendon in his wrist and he would cry. Her newest fear had become infection.

She sat on the ground, looking at Val. She was leaning on a stick and looked like death itself, and she didn't blame her. Marissa waited.

Silver woke up, but didn't open her eyes. She couldn't. Everything hurt too badly. Her hearing had returned, but with it, only more pain. Every little sound practically rattled her brain, and now someone was ringing a bell. "Oooh, stop that, damn it...." she groaned and mumbled. Putting her hand to her head in a small attempt to ease the throbbing pain, she forced her eyes open. The shutters were, she realized thankfully, closed. She turned her head slowly and carefully, willing her eyes to focus on her surroundings. Weathered Melody? How did I... Everything came rushing back in a torrent of agony, darkness, and bright flashes of red-purple light. Val... she.... I hope she's okay... but... Aisrhan - where is she?? Silver's eyes searched the wagon as quickly as her battered body and mind would allow. "Ais..." Silver's voice came out hoarse and tired, as though she hadn't used it in years. She cleared her throat and sat up fully, causing the room to spin - or so it appeared. She fell back down on the bed and was surprised by a small hiss. She then felt something being yanked from under her hip. Silver rolled over to see Aisrhan laying in the bed next to her, huddled up against the wall, eyes wide. "Oh baby, I'm sorry." Silver had fallen on her tail. She wasn't used to the girl sleeping in the bed with her. Her voice was a bit clearer now and though her head was still spinning, she felt slightly better, more aware of herself and her surroundings. She sat up again and tried to stand, holding onto the edge of the bed for support. Good... at least I can walk, she thought, trying to step away from the bed. She winced as a new wave of pain throbbed through her head.
"Ugh..." The bell had stopped ringing and Valelldia's voice could be heard. "Ah... well... at least she's okay..." Aisrhan hiss-growled in the back of her throat. "Aww, babe, I bet she scared you to death. She didn't mean to... really... I'll be fine in a few da - oooh... - days."
Silver carefully lifted a water jug out of the cabinet and washed herself off before changing into a clean dress. She didn't bother to tie on a sash, or put on a belt, she definitely didn't care how she looked right now. She only wanted to feel better. "Stay here, okay, Ais?" Silver pleaded with her. She didn't have the strength to chase her down right now, and certainly couldn't have her showing out at Val in front of the other gypsies. The girl curled up in the bed and acted like she was going back to sleep. "Good enough, babe. I'll be back soon."
Silver limped out the door and made her way toward the group, just in time to see Val leaving, leaning heavily on a cane. She walked up behind Em and put a hand on her shoulder. Her voice felt heavy and tired as she asked Emelyn if Valelldia was alright. "And what about Leshya'e?"

The girl went over and sat by the other, her brightly coloured dress she wrapped around herself a little more as it was a bit too big for her. She smiled at the girl and then sat down to listen holding the lam close to her.

Leshya'e had been led back to Varekai when the group reached their encampment. She was laid down on her bed, where she and Anezka fell asleep together. That night, she slept peacefully, more so then she had in the past few months. The sun soon rose and Valelldia called a meeting together with the bell. Lesh, however, did not go out of Varekai to attend, nor did she make any effort to even open her eyes and awake. She held tight to her daughter and pulled the blankets up over them both.

Veshengo had disappeared once the women made it back to their wagons. He was now seated up on branch which stuck out over the stream. His clothing was folded in a pile at the base of the tree [Yes, hot sexy nude man up a tree ladies! lol] and he leaned back against the tree trunk, contemplating jumping into the water.
