Cole smiled slightly, tilting his head a bit to the side. "Yeah....I suppose. I've never really talked to anyone, so I wouldn't know how the world....works I guess." He said, still looking down the stairs. "I'm trying...." He added, glancing up at her. "To talk, I mean. I've just never seen the use of it, actually. Or why people like it so much...."

Judging by the distant look on her face, Jinx could figure out that they both seemed to have something to hide. "I guess I'll have to 'not look' more often then," he joked. He would know he was flirting, if he knew what flirting was. He thought for a moment about what she said about Chaos stalking her, "So Chaos is after you huh, we must be some sort of friendship made in h*ll." he said, laughing. He looked around at a few other people in the cafeteria, hoping that noone else would have to bear witness to his 'gift' today. He wondered what everyone else's powers were. On this thought, he asked Moon Child, "So, you've seen my powers, if you don't mind me asking, what can you do?" he wondered. If Chaos really does follow her, he thought, maybe she's like me.

Laughing at his joke she knew it should upset her that it was a friendship made in hell but it didn't. Even worse was though would he still want to talk to her if he found out what she was. Or worse what she had done, and she was only human. In the cafeteria she looked around thinking carefully before answering his question, she knew things, in fact she knew to much, about everything. She didn't call herself a mutant but she never felt human like she was called. Answering with care as if unsure about her own words, "Nothing extraordinary, I just know to much. Everything there is to be known. Including how I will die." Moon Child didn't mean to add that last part but she did. Knowledge just came to her but she was still just a human. "Chaos follows me in another form. Stalking those he has no business with." And that was true. From the death of her mother to the death of her adoptive family and those around her. Even comments she thought simple pushed people over the edge and into violence at times.
Rain just nodded letting Dusk bask in her small victory. Talking to Dani, "Then I apologize for Dusk she takes things to far at times." There was slight sadness in her voice well hidden from the world including Dusk. What did you do when you watched someone you had always known loose their soul? "It is probably unnecessary for just teaching but I would prefer if you wore the protective gear. These stick can leave a decent bruise without it."

Dani nodded, glancing to Dusk. "She's always like that?" she asked quietly, refering to the gloating. Things like that had always annoyed her, even moreso now.

Rain watched Dusk for a moment, "She didn't used to be. She used to be nicer than me if you can believe that. A sucker for kids our house was popular at Halloween because she couldn't turn down any pirate, fairy, ghost or witch with less than half a bag of candy and even the corniest movie could make her sob for her favorite character. Then Phillipe died and everything changed. I know she doesn't need me anymore but she needs someone or she is going to be lost." Falling silent she ran a hand through her hair ending the subject, "Let's get started or we will never get anything done."

Dani nodded, going to the padding and working her way into it, before turning back to Rain for further instruction.

As Dani got into the gear, Rain took two fencing foils giving one to Dani before moving back a few paces. In the corner of her eye she saw Dusk standing upside down on the ceiling to watch Rain teacher. Rain took a deep breath before starting, "Ok we are going to go through form and some basics first. If I talk to fast or go to fast give me a yell. At the most basic level, fencing revolves around the opening and closing of various lines of attack and defense. In order for one fencer to hit, the other must make a mistake and leave an "opening." Fencing tactics rely on a mixture of "open-eyes" opportunism and deliberate "set-ups", where the opponent is systematically fed false information about one's own intentions. But before that is important let me show you proper technique." Going through the motions she hoped Dani got it.
((Don't worry about it. Unless someone does stuff like this can drag out painfully long XD ))

It didn't take her nearly as long as it could have. Dani had always been a quick learner, to an extent. It might take her a bit, but once she figured out what she was doing, what the motion was, she grasped it and performed it fairly well. Within half an hour she had everything shown down and was starting to make the connections between movements and reasons.

"Well," Jinx said with a crafty look in his eye, " not to make light of your situation, but if you truly do know everything, then I know who I'm sitting next to in classes." He chewed his food somberly for a moment, then looked back up at Moon Child, "And take it from me, Moon Child, Chaos has no business stalking any of us." He thought for a moment. She seems to be opening up to me, he thought. I should return the favor. "The Chaos that's been following me killed my parents, or more accurately" he paused for a moment, teetering on the edge of releasing what was his worst secret, "I did." After he said it, he stared off into space, waiting for her to get up and leave, his last chance at having a friend, much less a girlfriend. There was a blank look on his face, with a hint of sadness. I can't believe I actually told her, he thought, I guess that's just one more screw up for me.

Lisa thought about it for a second, "Well talking helps you bond with a person, makes you feel like you belong. They listen to what you say and respond accordingly. Talking also lets you vent about things that have been on your mind. You should try it sometime, but if you didn't notice, you talking to me right now."

Cole blinked a few times before letting out one small laugh. "Yeah, I guess I am. I guess....it's alright. I've just always found it awkward. It's not something that comes easy to me. But thanks." He said as he leaned his arm against the banister. His body began to move towards the banister as he felt something pass through his arm. He glanced down at it and noticed that the lower part of his arm that he was leaning on had turned into shadow matter. He scowled at it as he pulled away from the banister. He shook his arm a few times before it turned back into his normal skin. "Sorry 'bout that...." He muttered.

Rain was glad with her progress but with Dusk scrutinizing her it made her wonder what was on the girls mind. Checking the time on the wall she said, "Let's take a break." Falling backwards she landed on one of three couches that appeared into the room. Not surprised when Dusk fell onto one of the other couches.
Dusk looked at her with a grin, "Having fun?" she seemed her normal self but down deep the woman she had been was fading. Leaving only an impression.
Moon Child laughed at his joke before sobering up as his mood turned serious about Chaos. Thinking about what she told him she wondered if she should have. Being mocked your whole life takes it toll. There were reasons she didn't speak for the first 3 years after she was found and it wasn't because she didn't know how. Like reading. She didn't read English. You think knowing everything would include simple things but there always seemed to be blanks here and there. Her eyes widened in shock as he revealed he had killed his parents. Before they softened and she said quietly, "That's nothing to be ashamed of." Closing her eyes his words brought back memories of her own dark past, "Sometimes it's not even a choice."

"Actually yes. And, thanks for teaching me..." Dani smiled, the first time she did so fully in a while. She sat down on the empty couch, a bit more carefully.

Lisa laughed, "It's okay, you don't have to apologize for everything Cole, some times we can't control our powers. Especially all these new people who haven't had any training. If it makes you feel any better we have 2 more males, both mutants, 8 females and 6 are mutants. Plenty of people to try your new speaking skills with, right?" She had a heart felt smile on her face, I wonder if Kat made any new friends. But by the looks of her skin.... She looked back at Cole, "So.."

"Really?" Cole said referring to the new students. He knew about his roommate, who he still hadn't spoken much to. He thought for a moment about it. "Well....hmm....I guess. I'm usually not too careless about my own powers but...I can't say I have complete control over them. I didn't know it was much of a problem for anyone else. Then again, like I said, I haven't had much contact with anyone else."
((By the way, the answer to the question in your siggy is spring.))
