She had truly not expected for the direct attack of the male's sword to be a distraction. Realizing it was indeed a distraction only a few moments too late, she found that she was unable to move out of the way from the second attack of the male to her shoulder, the smell of the blood she had only hunted hours before telling her just how much of a delay she had. Feeling the power of his attack has caused her to sway in her stance, her sword faltering only slightly as she shifts to correct her balance, to only find that he was now drinking from her. She could feel his fangs sink into her pale skin, at first just small pin pricks, but she no longer noticed that once she felt the draw of blood from her body. Blood seeping from her fresh wound and from the fresh puncture of his fangs, the smell of her own blood had now filled the air thick in the night.

Incoming message. . .

The world around me fell away for a moment, leaving me in darkness. Not true darkness, as if in the real world, no. This was mental darkness. The kind that spawns the monsters of nightmares. I struggled to lift out of it, but it was as though I were drowning. Blood, hot and sweet, filled my mouth and I clung to it as though it were the last thing I had to save myself. But it wasn't right. I'd already fed this night. Why was I doing so again? It wasn't my will, but another's that drove me. Hiratoshi. The name sank into my brain but seconds later. The darkness lifted as my conscious settled into my body once more, where it belonged. My mind became mine again and I jerked away, separating myself from whoever I was drinking from. The movement wasn't as graceful, like I would normally have done. Instead I half stumbled, drawing the tip of my sword upward to point at this beings face. Nothing like being startled to make you wary. The grasses hid most of her, reaching almost her waist. She seemed to be as startled as I felt, so I knew that I had attacked her, even before I looked at her face. A vampire can read someone's expression easily, oftentimes like a human reads a book. Her read something near to surprised panic. Lowering the tip of the Sword a few inches, I took in her features. She carried the trademark looks of a female vampire, haunting beauty that only got more defined with certain light. I supposed any human male would have thrown himself in her mercy, but I wasn't human. I wasn't taken in by those good looks. Shifting my stance slightly, I dropped into a defensive one. I lifted my left hand up, examining the blood that I found there. It didn't seem likely that I had gotten all this blood from the bite wound, so I lowered my gaze slightly, looking for another one. I found it there near her shoulder. I wondered for a moment what she'd done to defend herself. She was a vampire, so why the hell hadn't she heard me coming and vanished? I wanted to ask, but when I opened my mouth, it didn't come out.
"Go quickly to the castle. If he comes back, you'll die." I said. My tone was slightly harsh, but I was thankful when my voice was as steady as usual. It was never good to give away that you were slightly shaken. I tried to remember if she was the only person to ever survive an attack from the Hiratoshi, but couldn't think straight. Turning toward the woods, I started walking, slipping the weapon back into it's sheath. She was lucky, damn lucky. But now I had something to think on, and something to tell Lucid. When I went back to the Haven, of course.

End of message.

The female released an exhaled breath when she felt the male release her from his hold. Continuing to hold her own sword in her right hand, she used her left hand to hold her bleeding shoulder as she stares at this male before her. She took a moment to allow his features to sink into realization. She now knows that he is a vampire, with a similar stride to that of the only other vampire she had known, the one who had turned her. Hearing the sound of his voice had sent a small shiver down her spine due to the sheer harsh tone. Watching him walk away she replaced her own sword into it's sheath. Unsure as to where the castle was that the male had spoken of, she guesses that it was where he had come from. Stepping cautious at first, she slowly begins to continue to walk in the direction she had been heading. After only a few moments her speed picks up, attempting to think upon everything that had just happened, only to find that she was unable to retain her focus and simply continued walking. Hoping that nothing else was going to find her before she managed to find shelter and another hunt.

Nathaniel moved easily out of the shelter of the trees, his gaze on the huge expanse of grassland before him. He'd not seen this much tall grass since he was little. Studying the Plains, he wondered if there were demons living out there still. When he was little, he'd been told stories of demon tribes that inhabited the Plains of Demoria. Dozens of them. And the stories had spoken of humans being sacrifices to these demons to ensure the safety of the villages. Looking out across these same Plains now, he laughed at those stories. Monsters existed only in the mind. He'd never have believed that to be true, once upon a time. But he did now. He knew better. Reaching up with his left hand, he slid his fingers through his shoulder length, blond hair, pushing it back from his face. Tonight, he hoped to at least get most of the way to the castle. He called upon his beast for strength and speed, then set out through the grasses at a quick pace.

Christiana stood on the outer bridge that ran the length of the two towers. Mother Nature seemed to be unleashing at least a portion of her fury upon the world tonight. There was no rain...not yet, but the wind whipped her hair back as well as her gown and her cloak. The only sounds that revealed her presence was the rustle and snap of her clothing as the winds tossed them about her frame. If nothing else, at least the world was given warning of the coming storm, she thought quietly, enjoying the sheer power of what the earth alone could do. Her brother had settled but he rarely left her since seeing her with Arjay. At the thought she winced, remembering vividly the man who had kissed her, almost as if he didn't want to at first, and then as if he couldn't help himself the second time. Granted, I made a fool of myself and asked him too the second time around, she thought with a slight smile as she remembered the expression that had crossed his features. Shaking her head, she pushed those thoughts away. He was gone, and according to her father would probably be for several centuries...until he could bear the possession of the sword no longer. Thinking of him did no good, nor did wishing for his return. The nice thing is...should he come back while I am here...I will no longer be a child. It seemed to bother him that I was. Drawn from her thoughts by the blur of rapid movement near the far side of the plains, she moved her gaze through the thick grasses, looking for the source. When her gaze finally settled on the man she frowned, for it was definitely male....and though she couldn't quite tell from the distance she would swear that she knew him. Bracing her hands on the rough stone in front of her she leaned forward, knowing at the speed the male was traveling it would not take him long to get within range for her to get a good look at him.

Nathaniel sped through the grass, ignoring the wind that beat at his face. He was running at full speed now, his pace eating up the ground. He'd learned, in his time with the pack, that he could tap into the speed and stamina of his wolf and use it, even in his regular human form. He glanced up, then stopped in his tracks. He could see the castle now, standing like a sentinel on the Plains. It's huge..he thought, looking it over. He could smell salt, which he assumed was from the ocean. He also smelled rain. Looking off into the distance, he scanned the skies for clouds. He couldn't see any, yet. Storms moved quickly though, so he wasn't fooled. He trusted his nose more than his eyes anyway. He returned his gaze to the castle, taking it in and committing it to memory.

Crissy studied the man for a long moment, trying to make out features through the strands of blond hair that whipped over his face. Unlike her, he had his back to the wind. It almost seemed as if the winds were pushing him toward the castle, though that could just be the speed that he was moving. Sighing, she started to turn away when the male paused, and his gaze moved up and over the Haven, it was when when the moons rays fell over his face that she recognized him. It couldn't be...why would he be here? She wondered half in shock and half in denial. Lifting herself up she dropped gracefully down over the stones, knowing that the fall would still be a shock when she met the ground despite her immortality. Invoking her powers to lessen the impact, she hit the ground with a soft but audible thud and turned to face the stranger. He was still a good distance away from her, so she refined from speaking, and from going to him...there was a possibility she could be wrong after all. And gods knows if father and Julian hadn't told me once, but a thousand times to think before I react.

He'd watched the figure slip from the top most bridge. He wondered for a moment if he really ought to turn around and go back. That seemed too cowardly though. Rolling his shoulders slightly, he started forward again.
It took him only a little time to get to the castle, and when he was near enough to see the door, he slowed to a walk. He caught a slightly familiar scent, but couldn't place it at all. It reminded his of his time with the pack, but that couldn't be possible..no one from the pack had come with him. They were all against leaving Evasa anyway..no way they'd be here. He glanced about and caught sight of the girl. Reaching up, he brushed his fingers though his hair again, pushing it back from his face once more. He didn't recognize her, and thus was slightly wary. He could tell she was a vampire and vampires didn't always like werewolves..especially when the werewolf was intruding. She didn't seem that old, but he couldn't actually judge for sure. He opened his mouth to say something, then closed it again, not sure what to say. What did you say to a vampire when you were more than likely intruding on her turf? Sorry didn't seem adequate. The scent came to him again, sweet and familiar and still he couldn't place it.
"Do I know you?" he asked quietly, before he could stop himself.

With him only a few feet from her, Christiana was fairly sure she was not mistaken, but his voice confirmed his identity to her without a doubt. She drew a breath and allowed her gaze to move over him. He was taller, broader, his hair was actually shorter than it was in his teens, though it still suite his face. Allowing a slight smile to curve her lips, she tilted her gaze up to meet his.
"Hello Nathanial." she said softly, hoping that he would remember her before she gave into temptation to give him a hug. He probably wouldn't appreciate it as wary of me that he is looking at the current moment.

Nathaniel studied the girl now, carefully. She didn't look familiar. Her voice seemed to spark something though..a memory of a girl tagging along with him and his friend. Could this be the same girl? Did that mean that Julian was here as well? A part of his life that he'd given up, not so long ago, really..was it going to come back now? Only one way to know for sure. It was then that he realized he couldn't think of her name.
"You're Julian's sister, aren't you?" he asked tentatively.

The wind carried the sounds of her laughter.
"How hesitant you seem. That's alright I suppose. I was only ten or so the last time you really saw me. Yes...I'm Julian's twin. Christiana...Crissy if it's any easier." she answered softly, laughter evident in her voice and lighting her eyes.

Nathaniel gave her a smile, glancing past her to the castle.
"Gave up the coven for something even more dark and gloomy?" he asked, gesturing to it with one hand. He shifted his gaze back to her, looking her over. She'd grown up nice. Really nice, he thought. He'd never pictured her being anything more than the skinny little girl that annoyed him. Now that he was older, he looked at her in a whole new light. "I don't suppose your brother lives here too?"

"Do not be fooled by the Haven outward appearance, it holds more warmth and comfort than any other." she answered, defending the home she had come to love so much.
"As to your question, yes...Julian is here as well. I am sure he will be pleased to see you." she answered with a slight nod, resorting back to the formal etiquette of her upbringing. Only with her family had she ever been let he reservations go. Such was a hard habit to break.

He stared at her, arching a brow.
"No offense, but you sound like one of those coven snobs." he said quietly. He then lifted his shoulder in a shrug. "Old habits just die hard, I guess. How have things been for you two?" he paused, then gave her a mock glare. "And I haven't even gotten a hug yet.."
