Well, he felt like a royal a**.
"I just... I just didn't get why I'd get so much attention from someone like you. Especially when we just met. I don't mind, I just... didn't get it."
And why should he? Pretty girls like her never paid him any mind. He always got the emotionally challenged punk/goth girls who'd slap a prep faster than he could say 'lolita.'
"And I still don't."

Danni allowed him a small smile.
" Personally, I don't like to question things, I just go with them. But, if you need answers.." She tilted her head towards the sky to things while twiddling her thumbs.
" Lessee...I find you rather attractive. Handsome, adorable, what have you. Under neath all the pretenses everyone puts up, they have a personality, and your lovely one is blindingly obvious, but that's just me." She shrugged.
" I want to know more about you, and grow to be a good friend." What she meant by friend was subjective, of course.
Danni turned her head to look at him.
" I realize that wasn't the most eloquent of speeches, but I hope it is suitable. And what do you mean someone like me?" She smirked and raised a brow at him.

He swallowed hard. Danni had verbally hit him right over the head, even if she didn't mean to. Blindingly obvious, lovely personality... him?
Man, he thought. Mom really messed me up if that surprised me so much.
Alex dipped his head in a odd little nod, like it was no big deal, but at her own little question, a bog, goofy grin spread over his face. He couldn't just shrug that one off.
"I meant... you know, pretty girls like you. With the hair and the clothes and everything."
He laughed shyly, rubbing his naturally dark hair nervously.

Danni beamed beautifully and her whole face seemed to light up.
" Aww..you're sweet." With a grin, she pecked him right on the cheek in a friendly gesture.
" It was very nice of you to say so- and I like that grin." She said, lightly pinching his cheek playfully.

Europeans like kissing in a friendly way, he thought with desperation, just to keep his feet on firm ground. Though if his mind was spinning, you couldn't tell. Alex just sort of stared off into the pond, his cheeks red as anything.
Three seconds passed before he pulled himself out of it.
"Heh... you're welcome and thanks." He let the grin take over his face, making sure it felt the same as it did before when he wasn't trying.
"Don't you get that a lot?"

Danni curled her arm around his for warmth, entwined their fingers again, and nodded.
" Yes, a lot, but none with the adorable sincerity you like to display it seems." She threw him a fake shrewd look.
" I'm truly surprised you don't have a girlfriend, what is my gender blind all of a sudden?"

Well, he really should have known. But score one for Alex; he had adorable sincerity, and he wasn't even trying.
"Oh, I've had girlfriends. Last one just didn't work out, you know?"
Alex's eyes met hers for the longest time they had all day. "I changed, apparently, in a bad way. Told me I 'gave up who I was for a prep school.' Sucks, huh? But she wasn't worth it."
But his train of thought didn't even have a chance to turn cynical once he noticed she was cold.
"You need my jacket?"

Danni rolled her eyes.
" Wow, what a tosspot. And no.." She scooted hip to hip with him and snuggled against his side- purely for the body heat, of course..
" I don't think I need it, as nice as it was for you to offer." She looked up at him and winked lasciviously, before pressing the side of her head to his shoulder and readjusting her own coat so she stayed warm.

Heartbeats are funny things, especially when they go from normal to breakneck speed in less than two seconds.
"Suit yourself."
Not that he wasn't enjoying every second of it. Alex even had the mind to wrap his arm around her, which he soon did, just so she wouldn't feel like she was clinging. Of course, that was the reason for it.

Danni smiled even wider-if that was possible- and snuggled up to him as close as she could get without giving the poor boy a heart attack, despite the fact that she really felt like just reaching up, taking his face in her hands and kissing him until he couldn't think straight, which really wouldn't be too hard to do considering her skills.
" Darn you, untameable streak, you make life hard." She muttered, frowning and biting her lip to keep from freaking him out.

Alex laughed, liking the sound of that. They were friends, right? Friends did this sort of thing sometimes. Cuddling. Holding hands... right?

Danni joined him in laughter.
" No actually. You're a special case, trust me. Most of them get all touchy feely in the wrong sort of way so I have to kick their asses, or they freak out and run off." She shrugged, not seeing it as a bit deal.
" That's why I like you. You haven't." She looked up at him and grinned.
" Not yet anyway, though I'd say I know a few tricks to scare you out of your skin."

"Well... you gotta admit, with you all touchy-feely, any guy would start thinking along those lines." Alex again rubbed the back of his head nervously, not wanting to seem like a total sleeze.
"Especially with talk like that. Why would my friend want to scare me out of my skin, huh?" But secretly, he wanted her to. It was totally against what his dad had taught him concerning women, but that little dark desire was creeping up again.

A decidedly feline smile took a place on Dannis lips as she reached up to fuss with his collar and brush her fingers across his jawline.
" I don't know. Why would I?" The shape of her smile could make any male ache- it was something she had perfected over her young life.
" Besides, I'm hoping your tough enough not to frighten so easily." She smiled even more feline and tilted her chin to place a feather like kiss where her finger had touched his neck, before lowering her head and resting it on his shoulder again.

He had the distinct feeling of being a mouse for a very orange cat. It was... dangerous. Playful. But how could she toy with him like that and get mad at other guys for reacting the way they had? They could probably see a mile away how sensuous she was and wanted that for themselves.
Alex, though, he was stock-still, not daring to move while she fiddled with his collar. What on earth was going on?
"I'd say I'm pretty tough in more ways than one. But are you looking for a friend, or a friend?"
