"I realize everyone's fate is on my shoulders. But you know what, Roran? Selena wasn't the only one who stood a chance. There were many others who got to Altarion and died in their battle with him, I'm just the only one who has been reincarnated. I'm not as stupid as you think I am and I can defend myself pretty well." Eve growled as she looked at Roran. "And I saw my parents about a week ago, why?"

Leena blinked, her hands tightening at her sides as Eve spoke about those who died in the fight. "Everyone is important Roran. All of us, if we don't help her then we all fail."" She said calmly, but forcefully, she was sick of people putting it down on the princess. It did make her wonder what made him this way, and she should probably lay off, but still.... Standing by the window, she stared out of it, glancing to them before falling silent. The princess had to prove herself to Roran in order for him to stop, that was how she saw it so she shouldn't interfere as much as she wanted to.

"She's herself. Let me ask you this. Do you plan out every single thing you do? Never making a decision on the spot and praying it works out? Have you never made a mistake or dismissed something as unimportant? Never decided not to tell someone something because they'd worry and act like an idiot, even when it might not matter? You're not perfect Roran. Stop expecting it." Cori spoke quietly, shifting so the others would see her and leaning on her bow. She was sick of him doing that, everyone belittling her and doubting her use. She almost, in a way, hoped something would happen soon so Eve would be able to prove herself, in theirs and her own eyes. The princess needed the boost of confidence.

At everyone's words, Roran's anger rose above the boiling point. Pounding his fist onto the table rather ubruptly, he began shouting. "You!" He pointed at the princess. "People die all the time. I understand that there were others! That doesn't change the fact that you're the only one who has been reincarnated! If you don't begin acting responsible about your own life, everything could be lost! I did not come all this way, risking my life from needing to sneak out of Altarion's land, just to see you die because you decided not to let us know of a potential threat! I am here to help! If help means getting myself killed so that you can reach Altarion I'm prepared to do that! I will not, however, die protecting you from a stupid mistake that you made! Life isn't about getting people to see you're stronger than they think! Life isn't about getting respect! Life is about fulfilling your destiny! Mine is to keep you alive! Cori's is to keep you alive! Your's is to save the world and everyone in it!"
He turned to Cori now, a blaze in his eyes. He lowered his voice though, the only thing showing his anger being his bodily expressions, and the tone of his voice. "Do I plan everything I do? Hell no. But I've seen everything there is to this world. The good, the bad, and the destruction. I've had to make those split second decisions before, and you know what it's brought? Death. Death and more death. Praying is for the weak. Knowledge is the only strength. If you plan to survive, you have to know what you're doing, know what you're up against, and know all potential threats. That's why I'm here, because without that knowledge, you will always fall, taking every one of your allies with you." His eyes went from Cori to Leena, then to Tuin, and finally came to rest on Eve again. The anger was gone now, an emptry void seeming to have its place. "To answer your question, milady," his voice was incredibly soft and quiet, hardly audible, "I was only hoping your parents could aid you in seeing the reality of the situation. Though, from the looks of it, they will be no help at all." He took two steps towrds the door, both incredibly slow, before he got to his normal pace as he left the room.
Walking out to the gardens, it seemed deathly quiet. Finding a fountain, he stood at its edge, looking at the water in silence.

Eve stayed silent as Roran shouted at her, taking in everything he said with slightly hurt eyes. After he left she looked to all of them for a moment, then walked outside to the gardens, Tuin following close behind, though he stopped at the gate to let Eve walk over to Roran. Quietly she sat down next to him and stared at the water infront of her. "I know you think I'm immature and I know you've gone through hard times. I also know I will never fully understand everything you've gone through. But no one is asking you to throw your life away for me in the first place. I'm seventeen. I'm still just a kid, and I can only know so much of what gone on and what is still going on. Selena's memories may help me a little more with understanding everything and I'm trying to be patient and work with you, but you have to do the same for me. It's not any order, it's just a request. I'm new at this, I'm scared, and I'm really young. Selena was two hundred when she died, she had so much more experience and knowledge, I've had three years of training for all of this, and now I'm just supposed to rely on my memories and save everyone. I'm trying my hardest, but I haven't had much help to begin with, so please, cut me at least just a tiny bit of slack and I'll work harder to get better and not let you and everyone else down." She sighed, continuing to stare at the waterinfront of her.

Roran heard the princess coming, she wasn't very good at sneaking around. As she sat, it took every bit of resistance for him to stay seated next to her. He didn't want to deal with this at the moment, but he knew he had to eventually. When she spoke, he didn't snort or laugh. He didn't even move. He only sat there and listened. When she finished, he stayed silent for what seemed like hours. He was wondering whether he should walk away or stay and talk. In the end, though, his Hunter normalities won. He never looked at her, but spoke as he watched the water.
"Yes, you are immature, and yes, you will never know everything about me. Yes, you are just a kid, and yes, you should be scared. War is a scary thing. one moment it can seem like you've won, until someone stabs you in the back and you fall forward, dieing without ever saying good-bye to your friends, never wishing your family the best of luck, never to breath the crisp air again. If you havn't realized, people die because of Altarion everyday. My people, your people, his people. You, milady, are the worlds only hope. No one else stands a chance against his might. Without you, we're all doomed."
Standing, he turned away from the fountain and her. "For the record, I'm not here risking my life for you because someone told me to do so. I'm not here because someone asked me to do so. I'm not even here because I want to be here. To be honest with you, milady, if I knew it would make the world better in the end, I'd slit your throat here and now to stop the killing so peace can reign. The fact of the matter is, though, that Altarion ruling the peace is, in itself, not peace at all." His eyes were looking at the princess's pet, who was probably alerted by that last bit of information. "You and Tuin both, though, can rest easy. I'm here to help you because Altarion must be removed. If it means killing more people who deserve to live, then that is what will happen, because in the long run we'll save many more."
He began to walk back towards the inside, but stopped again. "Also, don't let your childish mind get the better of you. One, you're definitly not alone, and complaining about not having help is a load of bull. Everyone wants Altarion gone, except for the high ranking officials under Altarion's rule. Ask for help, and you shall recieve. Two, never think this will be easy. It won't be. Three, don't ever get too attached to anyone, for anyone can die at anytime at war, and you of all people cannot afford to mourn during war. And four, don't expect to be the only one getting any praise after defeating Altarion, for you might not even be the one to get it. If the chance arises, I will strike the demon down. Remember that you're not the only one fighting."
Walking again, he got to the door to the inside, but he stopped one last time. "And finally, milady Eve, I have one more thing to say." This time, he turned to look at her sitting by the fountain, and small smile on his lips. "For a two hundred and seventeen year old woman, you look pretty good." Turning and going inside, he began wandering the halls, searching for his room to retire to.

Again, Eve stayed silent while Roran lectured her. Some of the things he said comforted, disturbed, worried, and intriqued her. It was a lot to feel at once, however, at his last comment, she looked up and listened to him. Hearing the compliment, she smiled lightly and blushed, but after he went inside, Tuin walked over and pulled her up with his jaws, though he was gentle about it. The two spent the rest of the entire night training, hard, and in the early morning she was asleep next to the fountain, her hand dipped into the water just slightly, as Tuin stood next to her, keeping watch over the sleeping princess.

The lamp tipped over with the wind, falling into the dry hay inside the barn. It quickly caught, the oil from the lamp speeding it along. Flames licked up the walls, and soon enough the entire structure was in flames. The wind picked up, carrying sparks to the house close by. Within minutes it too was burning, and the village had been reduced to ashes within two hours. Aki smiled faintly, leaving silently from her vantage point miles away as the last bits of flame died out, leaving only smoke and the charred remains of the village, burned down by a careless youth.
Cori watched them both leave, managing to keep her mouth shut. She sighed, seeing Roran come inside from the window. Ignoring him for the moment, she looked to Leena. "You said we'd have rooms?" she asked, wanting to make sure she wasn't taking some random room.

Leena stayed silent the entire time they shouted at each other, watching as they went out to the gardens, sighing as she lowered her eyes and shook her head. "Yes, they will lead you to them." She answered, nodding her head in the direction of one of her guards, suddenly stiffening. Her eyes darkened as she looked out the window, scanning the sky, noticing the smoke. "Dammit." Turning to Cori, she started for the door, "Excuse me." She murmured, formalities still remaining as she soon broke out into a run, passing by Roran, summoning two small bats that rushed through the halls to find people, glancing back to him as she received her cloak from a spy who managed to catch up. "What has happened Pria?" She asked, her voice a low murmur as they broke free of the castle, glancing to her left as Talia appeared, the second person she wanted to see. "Borine was burned to the ground a few moments ago. Source isn't known, there was someone who left a distance away." Pria answered as she kept up with the two of them. This only made Leena frown, clasping her cloak around her shoulders as she pulled the hood up so her expression wasn't seen. "Talia, go after this person and capture them. If they know anything, I want to speak to them. Use caution." Seeing her nod and vanish from view, she nodded to Pria who remained at her side, staying behind her now as they arrived at the charred remains. She could still see bodies laying on the ground, twisted, some holding others. It pained her, she had failed them, walking over to two corpses, seeing how they clutched to each other, one trying to protect the other. Walking through the rest of the remains, she noticed one area that seemed darker than the others, crouching down over it. "This was where it started." She murmured after a few moments further examination, rising up. "Pria, arrange for these people to be properly buried." She said softly, watching her bow and leave. She didn't move for a while, ignoring how the ground was still warm. I'm sorry... She whispered in her mind, bowing her head as she started back towards the castle. When she arrived, she headed to her room to change, walking out a few moments later. Everything was starting to slow down now since it was evening, her golden eyes watching as guards switched shifts, wandering the halls as she normally did.

Eve shot up when she finally awoke, and then clutched her chest. More people had been killed. It pained her to know this was going on, but there was nothing she could do just yet. Sighing, she hung her head and then sat down, crossing her legs as she closed her eyes and began to meditate, trying to remember everything from her past life and hopefully remember something important that might be able to help.

Roran had wnadered the halls for sometime, eventually just falling asleep against a wall. He slept decently well, concidering where he was, but he woke when Leena ran past him, talking fast with her guards. Within moments, Roran was on his feet, walking after them. Once they were outside, though, he saw the smoke. No. Turning away from them and walking back to the fountain, he found Eve meditating. Going up to her, he looked at her closed eyes. She was in another world at the moment.
Sighing lightly, he patted her cheek twice. "Come on, we have a place to be." Grabbing her collar, he nearly dragged her to Tuin, throwing her onto his back. "Go to the smoke, I'll meet you there." Walking away from the two, he needed to find a ride. The buidling was quite large, so it took a few moments for him to find a stable. Why do wizards have stables? They don't need horses to get around. Ugh, whatever, I just need one. Grabbing a black one, he rode out.

Eve yelped as Roran pulled her out of her meditation and then just held onto Tuin, a little dazed still as the creature ran to the ruined village. When they reached their destination, Eve got off Tuin and walked around, staring at the burned remains of houses and people. She crouched down and looked a little closer at one of the bodies, it was a small child. She sat there for a few minutes, still just staring as she shook lightly, but when she stood up again, her eyes were different, they were colder. Eve's eyes no longer held playfulness or joy, just rage and hate and a deep suffering. Selena had awakened part of her spirit, but it was still Eve in there, and she was growing up fast.

Aki went to the closest village, wandering before teleporting to a different one. She'd used a path used by shepards, making it appear as though that was all she was. She teleported around, using items as well as her own magic to hide her trail, keeping her illusions to change her appearance to that of different commoners. Anything more than a merchant would be suspicious.
Cori went after them, hiding a smile as she saw her mare, Tyri, in the stables, a note from a friend attached. She mounted up and left, quickly gaining on Roran. She'd seen Eve leave on Tuin, and Leena had left first. "Roran, you were following someone earlier, weren't you? Before me and Eve came up? Who'd you see here?" she asked, Tyri matching his horse's pace. She wasn't as elegant as some of the others, a plain chesnut mare, more like a pony in all but her size. But she could run circles around any battlehorse, and keep up a canter for hours without tiring much. She was a Ranger's horse, and trained as such. They were considered witches, much like their riders were.

Roran had his horse continue on when Cori caught up. "Hm? Oh, I had spotted a vampire. A high ranking vampire. She lef tthough when we made eye contact, and Leena came up behind me. Her name's Aki and she's very close to Altarion, from what I've seen and heard."
Kicking his horse to go faster, Roran jumped off the saddle when he arrived. Unsheathing his sword, he walked up behind Eve. Putting the point to her back, he pushed a bit so she could feel, but not enough to make her bleed. "Draw your weapon. Training starts here and now. Three years isn't anywhere near enough, and this place is very similar to a battlefeild. If you feed off your hatred at the sight of this, when real battle commences and you see this, you'll fight better. Feed off your hate. Channel it to your muscles and create energy." He took a few steps back, holding his sword at the ready. "Now draw your weapon."

Eve just kept the same look in her eyes, and for a moment, did nothing, just acting like she didn't even hear him. Then her sword just seemed to snap out of its sheath. She held it at the ready and then attacked Roran with all her strength and skill of a master swordsman. She showed almost no mercy to the man as she slashed at him.
