"Looks like." Clif said, walking over to the bar and setting down his hat, exposing his tightly woven cornrows. "Besides, I wanted to make sure you were alright after last night's fall." He sat on one of the bar stools and leaned forward. He noticed how the red parts of her hair changed color in the violet light to a deep purple. It was a good look, and he smiled a bit unconciously.

Jasper laughed out loud at Clif's remark about her fall from the night before. "Ha! Well, I'm pretty sure I would've been fine without you checking in on me." She smiled, and after making sure her head was alright, returned the ice to the freezer. She then got two glasses from below the counter.
"So, as I promise, you get a free drink of your choice for saving me last night. What'll you have?" She asked. As she waited for his reply, she prepared herself a strawberry daquiri, one of her signature and personal favorite drinks. At the same time, her mind was once again taking in Clif's features subconsciously, since there was more light than there was last night.

"How about just you basic glass of Jack on the rocks?" Clif asked, his smile widening at her comment. But, again he got that feeling from her, like there was something odd going on. This girl was different from any other he'd met, and he thought he knew how. "I hope this doesn't offend you in any way, but... Are you a, uh... A vampire?" He asked, wincing his eyes as he said it. Form what he heard, those who weren't got really offended when you asked, and those who were hated talking about it. He realized just then that he may have ruined a good conversation, a good drink, or, worse yet, what was shaping to be a good frindship. "You know what, you don't have to answer that, just forget I brought it up." He said quickly before she had any chance to answer.

As Jasper prepared his drink, she let out a small sigh. She knew his question had to come sooner or later. And even though Clif then asked her to forget about it, Jasper chose to answer the question anyways. Better that he learn now rather than unexpectedly in the future.
"Yes," She answered, "I am a vampire." She took a sip of her daquiri, mentally prepared herself for the worst. Clif could just walk out of the bar, or he might go on a rampage, or even take his gun out on her. Although she's never been shot at yet, it wouldn't be the first time someone has freaked out because she was a vampire.

Clif stopped short. he had been expecting some kind of explosion one way or the other, not a calm reply. He slugged down his drink in one gulp. "Wow." He said. "I didn't see that coming." He was silent for a little bit, but thought that might be awkward. "I'm sorry. It's just that I've never been around anyone like you before. I'll try not to do anything stupid, like bombard you with questions."

Being the curious and exploring creature he was, Nathan decided not to go straight home... But being the clumsy and somewhat inattentive creature he was, he failed to realize where he was going and promptly found himself lost. It was scary in a city of nothing but darkness, and he wished desperately that he remembered to buy a flashlight. Light did well to repel not only the night, but the sentient shadows within that could be potentially dangerous...
Naturally, he still didn't have one... Or any real light source, anyway... until he remembered that he had spells for situations like this. He didn't frequently practice his magic, so he easily forgot he had it, especially since its primary use - healing - didn't work on himself. But now he mumbled a few words under his breath and a wide cone of light glowed from his palm, which he held up to scan the space before him.
"Thank God, now I can start trying to find my way home..." he murmured, flinching as he saw a few shadows skitter away from his light. "Ugh, it's like a horror film... I'm just waiting for something to jump out at me... And I'm talking to myself... Like an idiot... Blech, ich muß verrückt sein..." He groaned slightly and hung his head, feeling useless and helpless.
Then he spotted a familiar figure. Once he mentally added grime and blood to the man's outfit, a glimmer of hope flooded his ice-blue eyes. Someone who could get him out of this! And of course, the added bonus that he looked so fabulous in those clothes...
"Sir!" he called quietly, running to the man with his hand up to light his way and his guitar abusing his back. "Sir, could you help me? I'm dreadfully lost..." He bit his lip anxiously, looking up at the red-haired lord with hope and pleading in his eyes.

Lila slammed all twelve of her alarm clock buttons to go off as she sat up and fumbled with the last one. She had a short rest, almost exposing herself to someone she knew and having a blank, empty dream didn't do wonders for her now. She hesitantly got up and did her daily routine and got out and left for work. Morning, dark skies once again covered the city.
'Was there ever really light in this dump?' she wonder. She made her way down the familiar path and sooner or later reached her destination. She entered from the back door of the tavern and got right to work once changing into the appropriate uniform. Several moments passed and Lila was still half dazed. It wasn't about what happen that night when she fell from the sky. But the dream she had when she had fallen asleep to one of the costumers tune.
"Lila, come here for a sec would ya?" Her pops motioned her over from the pot of boiling water and repositioned her white hat. "Lila, is everything alright? You seem..., a bit daze since you came in. Did anything happen?" Lila looked him in his eyes; she felt a slight tug on her heart downwards. Her pops looked pained and worried.
"Everything's alright, I just haven't had any chocolates yet, that's all." She replied as casually as she could, perhaps even more casually as she would have liked it. He smiled and patted her shoulder.
"Well, get plenty of rest tonight. Tomorrow you're going against the other minor workers here for the regular spot of cook." He smiled lightly and turned Lila ninety degrees and pushed her slightly back to her earlier station. Another several moments pass and Lila was off to re-supply the Tavern with some more red wine and cooking wine from the nearest bar. She walked in the classy bar, rolling a tower and stopped midway and parked it in front of the counter. She glanced up and saw Jasper serving a drink to a familiar face.
"Hey Jasper, we need five cases of red wine and eight cases of cooking wine. You got?" Lila asked as she took a seat on one of the comfy stools, making sure that it was several seats away from the other person present.

Jasper laughed again at Clif's politeness. Probably like him, she was expecting an outburst of any type, but was a little startled that he had taken it so calmly. "You're name's Clif right? Well, you can ask me any questions you like, when you feel up to asking them of course," She added at the end with a small smirk.
Jasper was then about to ask Clif a casual question when Lila came in with a tower. She looked a little tired, probably from last nights encounter. Jasper's mind wandered to that night for a brief second until Lila's request for wines went through her ears.
"Yeah, I've got the wines. Hang on," She replied, then before leaving said to Clif, "I'll be right back." She went into the back of the bar to the wine cooler, and retrieved the red and cooking wines. She came back to where Lila was waiting and put them on the tower.
"There you go, five cases of red wines and eight of cooking wines!" Jasper said with a smile.

Lord Alexander was surprised to see a small blond running up to him, rapidly recognizing him as the person from the tavern. He felt much more presentable now that he actually looked like nobility, but wondered why on earth the musician was there. His question was answered, though, by the blond's plea for help.
Walking over, he gestured to the street behind him, which halfway down gained regular, high-quality lamp posts, which threw a pale golden glow over the area they illuminated. This far down the lane, the posts grew less frequent, and then were replaced with less expensive, pale silver pools of light from the other light posts that made up most of the rest on the city streets.
"You're currently just outside the Nobles' district, actually. Where is it you're trying to go?" He tilted his head to the side, examining the other male, before drawing a sword and twirling around to slice a shadow in half as it leapt at him, hoping for a surprise lunch. It was a small one, and dissolved quickly near the light posts.
"Huh. Normally they don't venture quite so close... I guess it was braver than most of them."

"Thank you." Lila handed the check to Jasper and towed the heavy load back to the tavern. When she placed everything in order, she continued her day normally at work. ((Ug, blockage.))

Jasper smiled and nodded as Lila handed her the check and walked out of the bar. Normally she would've then taken the money directly to the safe she kept in the back. But since Clif was here, she simply put the check into her pocket.
As she sipped her daquiri, she tried to think of a conversation topic that both she and Clif had in common. After mentally tossing ideas around, she went with what she felt was the most obvious topic.
"So Clif, how long have you been hunting?" She asked with earnest curiosity.

"About four years now, actually. I needed a way to earn cash fast, and Shadow Hunting was right there. I liked it, it became a lifestyle. But, what about you? How did you get into this whole Hunting gig?" Clif asked, smiling as he did so. He fingered his hat in a sort of a nervous habit. "You mind if I get another glass? I know you said one free drink, and I do have the money to pay."

"Don't worry about paying, I'll give you a free refill. My treat," Jasper said kindly as she took his glass and put more Jack in it. She then gave the glass back to Clif and, now finished with her drink, scooted the empty glass to the side.
"Well... I've been hunting for a few years," Jasper started. "I haven't been a vampire for too long, about 7 years really, and I started hunting about 3 years ago. When I was younger, I was orphaned because a murderer killed my parents. When I eventually learned his identity, I vowed to kill him, and bounty hunting seemed to fit the job. There's a nice reward for whoever brings him in dead as well," She finished with a smirk. She drummed her fingers on the bar top, a little sign of when she was having minimum nervousness.

"I'm sorry about your folks. But, who could this man be that he has such a heavy bounty on his head?" Clif asked as he sipped his drink. He was surprized that such a nice woman would have such a violent background. You parents being killed was never an easy thing to live with. But, what surprized him even more was her vow for revenge. In his experience, people who lived with revenge in their hearts grew to be cruel, cold people. Jasper seemed to have grown the opposite way, acting just as sweet and goodhearted as his first impression had suggested. It was remarkable, he thought.

Jasper bent down behind the bar for a second, momentarily going out of sight. She reappeared moments later, with a folded up wanted poster in hand. The man on the poster was a dark, thick man with shaggy hair and a five o'clock shadow. The one part that stood out, however, were his stunning yellow eyes. The top part of the paper was ripped off, where his name should've been.
"This is the man's image," She said, her tone starting to turn slightly more serious. "When I saw him leaving my parents dead bodies, I remember seeing his bright yellow eyes and the darkness. I found this image about a year ago, when out one night. I'm positive this is the man who killed my parents, even though I still don't have his name."
Jasper looked down for a moment, wondering if she could trust Clif enough for him to help out. She decided to take a chance. "I know this might be asking a bit much, but... if you ever find any information on this man, like his name, whereabouts, anything, would you please come to me with the information?"
