Anae stepped away from the snarling flames swirling around her and stepped up to the edge of the lake. Like a little rocket, Fuego landed gracefully on her shoulder. He smelled like burning wood. She smiled slightly, then surveyed the water in front of her. The blaze reflected beautifully off the crystalline waters. She bit her lip and slipped her gloves back on her hands and adjusted the fur around her shoulders.
Anae peered at soldiers standing around and wrinkled her nose, pushing through them. Stepping up to Ferros she delicately placed a gloved hand on his shoulder in an almost loving manner. Fuego chirped quietly. Her fingertips tingled against his shoulder. "Your Highness?"

"You know you don't have to call me that," Ferros said without even glancing back at the woman who spoke to him. He could recognize that voice through a crowd of a thousand screaming men and women. It was always so soft, so inviting and caring. Ferros lost his mental link with the dark lord and turned with a slight smirk to face Anae. "What brings you all the way out here? Bored of being at home or did you just miss me?"
Before Anae had time to answer, however, Ferros watched a woman appear from the unharmed forest and attack one of his men. So the resistance had not left yet after all. Good, now Ferros would be able to have a little fun. With a short whistle Ferros brought his men to attention and sent them towards the fighting woman. "Destroy her," were the only two words to issue from his lips.

Just as the soldiers were commanded to attack Alaura, a dark and foreboding mist came overhead. The nearby lake began to freeze over. The soldiers did not back down however as they seemed to be trained well. Dropping down out of the mist, Shane ran an ice-made blade through the body of the nearest man. He turned his head to Alaura. "You have saved me twice now from death, it would bring me great honor to fight alongside you." He turned back to the soldiers and he lowered his blade to his side. He opened his left palm and felt the energy flow through him. A downpour began. Steam arose from the smoldering cinders of the half charred forest, making a small hissing sound as the raindrops hit. Shane stood ready.
Seth watched Vivian disappear into the shadows. He climbed down the ladder and made his way toward were Alaura had run to. He made it to a frozen lake and saw Alaura and Shane fighting a group of soldiers from the fire kingdom. He climbed up into a nearby tree and looked over the scene. He noticed one man that appeared to be giving orders to the soldiers. He recognized this man to be Prince Ferros. "Let's have a little fun..." He said to himself with a smile. He stretched out his arms and began to weave an illusion.
From the mist, a large roar could be heard. It rumbled through the forest causing the soldiers to look about. It came again a few seconds later. The men began to squirm uneasily out of fear. The roar came once more as the head of a dragon came out of the mist. It's body was clear and gray as it took on the form of the surrounding mist. He circled the soldiers as the few cowardly ones began to run.
Malachi finished putting away the now clean dishes and he came back out to Acario. "Shall we be on our way then?" He led the boy through the house, passing a room with a large garden and koi pond. They traveled through the house and out onto the grounds, walking along a gravel pathway, until they came to an open space with nothing but dirt and a small stream that ran through it. Many unlit torches surrounded the area. Nicolai was faced away from them sitting cross-legged on a rock in the middle of the stream. "I will have your bed made and bath ready for you when you are finished, but I must go visit my brother for the night so you'll have to go into town to eat dinner," Malachi spoke softly to Acario, "this is where I take my leave young master." He bowed to him and was off, back down the pathway that they had come.
Adel had lost the connection with the Prince's mind as some sort of attack began. I guess I have my answer. They are there still, and by the looks of things, they don't intend to be flushed out. They will soon see why I chose to send the young Prince by himself. Try as they might, they will not quell his flame. Adel smirked as he turned and exited his room. He made his way back out of the castle and down through the streets of the kingdom.

Alaura's heart did not beat rapidly as might be expected of someone being attacked by so many men. In fact, no matter how close they came or how fierce they looked, not one of them could cause her even to flinch. Not one of them could possibly stem the flow of pure rage that now rolled freely through her veins. A dark and lonely door burried deep within her had finally broken free of its extensive locks and not hell nor high water would hold back the fury that poured forth. Only one thing seemed to break through the sheer wall within Alaura; a voice so familiar and kind.
Emerald eyes turned abruptly, ignoring the oncoming men just long enough to look straight at the man from the water kingdom. Here he stood, facing his elemental opposite, and for what? He held no ties to the forest which was being burned, not like Alaura, yet he spoke of how she had saved him and about honour. A measure of her former self returned to her and she managed a sly grin. "It is I who would be honoured." She said softly, low enough so that only Shane would hear, yet loud enough to sound over the ambiant noise. The sizzling of the flames caused her grin to widen.
"Soldiers of the fire kingdom, heed my warning. Leave now and your lives will be spared. Continue on this path and death will find you quickly." Perhaps it was overly confident of Alaura to think such things, but why not? She saw the fear in their eyes as they heard the roar. She showed none for one simple fact. She reached out to all living beasts and plants, to all flora and fauna, and she heard a reply despite the creatures allegiance. Even that horrid beast fear had responded, though with a vicious mental attack. This roar gave off a very familiar signal, one that she had encountered before. It was one of Seth's illusions, and thus she had no reason to fear. To these men, however, it would likely seem that either she and Shane controlled the beast or it had sided with them. Either way worked in her benefit.
Alaura took a bold step forward, holding aloft the sword that now gleamed red in the odd light, playing strangely to cause it almost to appear alive. A few eyes looked to this with a mixture of anger and fear. It had been so easy for her to fell that one man, but had it simply been her element of surprise, or was she truly that skilled? It mattered little, for those men seemed to fear their master more than their enemy. Alaura felt suddenly strong, standing beside Shane. Their elements mixed well and fed off one another. With his control of water and her control of earth they could create a deadly mixture of power. The earth beneath them shook slightly, rumbling as if in agreement with Alaura's own thoughts and her bright eyes focused on the men before her.
Nicki had seen quite enough. The flames had engulfed the forest in which she had been watching and she was forced to slip through the shadows once more, moving about in her silent way. She stopped when she saw the men from the fire kingdom resting. Weaklings! She thought with disdain. How could they lie about when there was a job to be done. It was thus that she almost felt sickly gleeful when she spotted that earthen woman leaping forth and slaying a man. Then she spotted another face, the man from the water kingdom. Oh yes, that rebellious group was still there, and now it was time for Nicki to twist her evil ways, all for her greater scheme.
She would have to bide her time, have to play her cards very carefully if this was to work. It was no lie that she made a great effort to keep her mind closed to Adel, lest he see something she wished to keep a secret. However, she now had the very difficult task of hiding not only thoughts but actions as well. She meant to outright betray him, but she had to do it in such a manner that she could keep both sides believing she was with them. In this way she would manage to set them against one another to wipe each other out, leaving her as the victor. It was cheap, this was true, and not usually her style, but humans were so fickle that it left her little other option without serious risk to herself.

Anae let her hand fall from Ferros shoulder and set her gaze on the group across the lake. She could feel a deep trembling quake beneath her feet. Cringing, she covered her ears. The flames that were being extinguished screeched for her help, saying her name in all their efforts to be saved. Fuego lept off her shoulder and took off across the lake, towards the unburnt forest. Anae slammed her eyes shut and begged the dying embers to cease their pleas. She fell to her knees and removed her gloves, touching her milky fingers to the ashes beneath her. "I'm so sorry my friends. Please.." Her fingers begin to twitch. A small flame lit beneath each finger tip.
Opening her eyes, she took a shallow breath and pressed them deep in the ground. An instant ring of white hot blaze burst from the ground around her. She stood slowly, shaking. Whispering almost inaudibly, the flames spread across the edge of the lake at lightning speed, like there was something left to burn.
Turning slightly to the Prince she spoke softly, delicately. "We are at your command." The pouch around her wrist dangling quietly, beckoning.

Ferros held his hands out facing palm up. The cool rain splashed down upon him, soaking him to the bone. His gaze traveled from the sky to the man commanding the weather and he suddenly began to laugh. Without removing his gaze from the man, Ferros lit his hand ablaze with blue fire. The fire burned defiantly amidst the rain. He signaled to his troops who quickly backed up. Glancing back at Anae he gave her an almost worried look. "It seems you have caught me at a bad time. Please, stay back and let me handle this."
The roar of a large beast resounded from within the forest and soon a dragon began to loom into view, emerging from an appearing mist and attracting the prince's attention. Ferros stared on, unabated. His mind would not let his eyes deceive him. The trees in this forest had been too close together for such a large beast to live in. Also, there had been no previous markings of the dragon’s stomping grounds. The dragon was a fake, a mere illusion that would be dealt with later.
Now Ferros returned his gaze to the apparent water kingdom warrior and his female friend. The rain had drenched everything thoroughly by now and the noise of the pouring rain made Ferros raise his voice. "My name is Ferros, Prince of the Fire kingdom. I am here to remove you from this wretched forest. Put up a worthy fight and I will make sure you will burn quickly."

Shane watched as the dragon flew about. Seth seems to be aiding us with his illusions. But it's only a matter of time before they realize that it can't actually harm them. So... let's make it so it can. He held open his palm concentrating on the fog above, moving and changing the water. He clenched his fist as yet another dragon, identical to the first, had appeared. They will not be able to tell which one will not harm them and which one will rip them apart with it's ice-like fangs. Shane then looked to the nearby frozen lake and raised up his arm. The ice began to break apart as the water churned, forming into a whirlpool and rising up. It looked somewhat like a small tornado made of water. As the water spun, he clenched his fist to freeze sections of it that were propelled from it toward the fire prince. The shards of ice stuck themselves into the ground in front of the prince. "Let that be your final warning."

Alaura, growing impatient from inaction and the rage boiling within her, narrowed her eyes to emerald slits and took a step forward. Those men that noticed eyes her with suspicion. She grinned at them in a vicious manner, her eyes flashing a brilliant green before fasing to their alright bright emerald colour. The ground rumbles once more, another threat and yet also a hint. Something was going on below the surface, something that Alaura clearly controlled. Her eyes moved to a soldier on the outskirts of the group. He was standing apart from the others giving her the perfect chance to pick him off.
Without warning the ground opened up beneath him and swallowed him up. However, he was not burried alive, never to be seen again. Instead the ground stopped him before his head would slip under and it closed as swiftly as it had opened. The man was now burried to his neck in the earth with no easy way of getting out.
Alaura's fierce gaze turned to the rest of the group, the threat eveident in her eyes. "Who wants to be next?" She asked in a mocking tone.

Anae let her hands fall to her side as she watched the ice melt and transform in front of her. She narrowed her eyes and the flames whipping around her ankles sunk deep into the ground. Clenching her fist, she took a step forward towards the water with black slippered feet. "Seems we have run across a minor obstacle.. Don't worry sire, I'll take care of this." Stepping into the water, she could feel a deep pulse withing her. The coolness was almost a shock to her naturally fiery state. Condensation arose on her skin, as the water around her feet begin to evaporate. Slowly but surely, she was diminishing the water from the lake. Fuego chirped loudly overhead and swooped across the churning water.

Startled, Seilynn jumped up from where she was and spun around to face the girl the voice belonged to. Seeing that it was a rather young girl she breathed out slightly, obviously thinking that there wasn't any danger around. "It's not very nice to eavesdrop." She said kindly as her heartbeat settled to normal again and she caught her breathing. "The market you say? Well, unfortunately, I'm looking further than that. You wouldn't know if they have maps at the market though? I... umm.. Lost mine." Her voice carried slight hesitation as she spoke the last part, since it was a lie. Her map had been taken by the soldiers that threw her in that cell she'd just escaped from. She glanced around to make sure there were no guards outside the walls yet, which would mean they either didn't care that much once she was out or, they hadn't realized she'd escaped yet.

Acario nodded silently to the servant and watched him leave before turning to Nicolai. He just might be able to get used to this place. The training grounds seemed to stoke the fires within Acario. He was ready to learn, ready to fight. He was going to become stronger, and when he was the strongest earth elementalist around, he would destroy the fire kingdom once and for all.
Nicolai seemed to be meditating, so Acario sat down in the dirt without interrupting him and began to doodle.
As the ice shards landed before him, Ferros couldn't help but give a chuckle. "Warn me? What is there to warn me of? I can tell by your actions alone that you are a mere novice at controlling your element." As Ferros spoke the shards before him melted away rapidly until they became nothing more than the damp ground he stood upon. "Spare me your galant acts. You are no match for someone of my power." Ferros clenched his left hand into a tight fist and a blue flame ignited around it. Without removing his gaze from the water user, Ferros lifted his fist towards the second dragon made of ice and opened his hand. A blue ball of fire shot upward and struck the dragon in the chest, melting it almost instantly.
Now the prince turned to his men. "Fire nation soldiers are no cowards! Don't sit there and let one woman defeat you all! Attack her or I'll kill you myself!" Ferros' words could not have been more serious nad true. His eyes were alight with disgust. Weakness was for those who deserved to die. If he could not count on his men, then he had no need for them, just like anyone else.
For a moment his gaze flickered to Anae. Though it had been quite some time since he had seen her, Ferros' childhood friend was someone he could always count on. She was far different from Ferros, but something about her attracted his attention and they had been friends ever since. "I told you to drop the names. You know I hate that."

Crystal’s gaze fell to the ground and she felt a pang of guilt slip its way to the surface. “I am sorry, miss. I didn’t mean to pry or to listen in.” Her voice was softer and it was clear she felt bad for sticking her nose where it didn’t belong. Despite her maturity, which seemed greater than one of her age should carry, she was still a child and she still felt the way most children did when being scolded. Her spirits lifted, however, when she was questioned about the market.
“I don’t really know what they have there, as I didn’t really stop to see, but I could take you there if you’d like.” She knew where it was from passing by it. She didn’t mention that she hadn’t stopped because she couldn’t actually see anything there, and it became rather depressing when one had to feel each object to get an idea of the picture. She didn’t deem that information necessary. She was simply hopeful that she might be able to help this woman, lord new she could use some company.
She was often a loner, whether by choice or not, but she did enjoy having company now and then. She was curious, after all, and it was easier to satisfy her curiosity when she had someone around to answer her barrage of questions. “My name is Crystal, by the way.” She added on with a slight bow. She was a very courteous girl, at least, and she seemed to have the best of manners. Alaura saw the fear of their commander, their leader, pushing the men forward. However, fear was not something to command with, this she knew. Her own men would fight and die protecting their leader because they loved and trusted her; they admired her. These men would hold no such loyalty, it seemed, if they were shown something greater to fear. If she became that threat, then perhaps she could break their will and force them to flee. Despite her hatred and rage some of her natural self shone through. She did not wish to kill these men, if it could be helped. The man stuck in the ground struggled against his earthen bonds, but no amount of firepower or struggle would pierce that earth. The dirt and rock itself was stronger than flame and the strength of one man.
Alaura held her blade at the ready as men rushed towards her. Her grin was eerie, even to an ally, for it glimmered, like her eyes, with a ferocity, which had been thus far bound. Now she was fully prepared to unleash her fury, should these men continue. “Fear your master, if you wish, but know that I will not show mercy.” This did nothing to falter their steps, and before long they were upon her.
Alaura dodge their attacks with sword and hands with ease. Her movements were like a dance as she bent and twirled, like a flower dancing in the breeze. Her body was like those stems, tough when needed but flexible as if it had no bones to hold it still. Her mind was ever connected to the earth beneath her, and a rumbling sounded moments before a ripple ran through the dirt. It was as if something moved beneath the surface, forcing a sort of rolling hill to moved in many directions. This knocked many soldiers on their feet and instantly vines shot out to tie them down. They burned the vines as best they could, but more continued to replace them.
Not all of the soldiers had been knocked down, and others still were recovering as they hacked and burned the vines. The rain, however, made the fires difficult to maintain, and it appeared as though these men had not mastered their skill as well as their leader. They didn’t seem capable of creating that flame which burned hot enough to burn even in the rain. This caused Alaura’s grin to grow and she slowly made her way, with the men always attacking, towards the border of unburned forest. The trees were soaking up the rain, and it was known that wet wood would not burn so easily. The trees seemed almost to speak aloud as she came ever closer, whispering to them and waking them. A tune swept about on the wind; someone whistling to themselves as they made their way down the road. This seemingly humble person sat atop a white stallion. The horse was large enough to be a war-horse, yet it seemed to hold a sort of grace that was unlike that of its battling kin. The man atop the horse was more magnificent yet. His head of golden blond hair was kept short, at least shorter than most men in this age. He kept it cut so that while it was still somewhat long, it hung no lower than just past his ear at some points. It was cut so that it all seemed to be layered in different lengths, and it seemed to be a sort of organized chaos, as if it was meant to look slightly messy. The hair hung over his face slightly, covering parts of his eyes. But nothing could hide their vibrant colour. They were a crisp blue like the ocean far out where its depths seemed unfathomable.
This was Damien, a knight in the Paladin Order. He was one of their most trusted emissaries, and he had been sent on a mission. Rather, he had suggested it to the very highest council and they had deemed that no other knight could carry it out. He sat now, whistling a rather cheery tune as he and his horse made their way down a long road away from his home in the main city of the Knorth Kingdom. He would miss his home, he always did on these quests, but his sense of duty was great and he knew he would return. If, for whatever reason, he should die before his return, he had already made his peace with the knowledge that he would feel no regret. His life had been full up until now and he had been happy. He wished he could have reconciled with his father, but he would not regret his life. His only regret was that he had never loved, not in the way that most might find. He had never felt the love of a woman to whom he was willing to dedicate his life, though it seemed many had offered him such a thing. He would not have them, though, for none of them held his heart. Each offer he had received he had denied in the most gracious way, leaving the women to evidently love him all the more. His companions in the Order often berated him for not choosing one of the lovely maidens, but he was a hopeless romantic.
Damien’s eyes turned to the forest that lined his path. He had stopped whistling at this point, merely enjoying the sounds all about him. He had been travelling for no more than a few hours when he spotted something that caused his brow to furrow. It seemed his quest should be put on hold, for as a knight he was bound by the oath he had taken. He would protect all living things for the greater good. He was not allowed to turn away if trouble presented itself. Now, as his eyes gazed over the treetops, he saw a troubling sight. There, not far off and deep within the forest, there was smoke rising. It was more than what one or even a few campfires would create, but what looked to be the burning of many trees. He spurred his horse, pulling the reigns to lead him into the trees at a gallop. Asgoroth, as the horse had been called, followed Damien’s command without a second thought. Damien’s cloak, a slightly off white cloak with two crosses on each shoulder in the front, billowed behind him as they sped toward the burning forest. Before long they could feel droplets of rain piercing through the canopy of leaves above them. “Rain? How odd that it should fall only where the fire burns.” Damien urged the horse faster and the two of them whipped through the trees.

As far as Vivian has seen, many men were devoted to the task of bringing that rebel group to their knees. Each time one drew too near to where she paced the smoky darkness she'd draw into shadow and wait them out... determined to hear at least some news of her former homeland and why the attack was sprung so unfairly.
But then again, who was Adel to fight particularly fair? Especially when his regime was so threatened. He predisposed image of the Dark King was pretty low, more from whispers she'd heard than actual experience near the man.
With an angry hiss she struck out again, taking the head of a soldier completely off in her fury. As his shocked body dropped lifelessly to the earth Vivian turned to storm away, coming face to face with another Dark Soldier. Slight shock registered in her eyes as she tried to step away, her molecules slowly dissolving.
"Not so fast, Princess." The man sneered, eyes blacking as dark as the night. Her body slammed back together with the force of his power... a perfect counter to her own. She cursed softly and took a physical step back.
"Don't call me that.... I am no Princess." she hissed, her eyes searching every flicker of muscle movement.
"I am certain you are somebodies Princess... be you of royal blood or not..." he responded idly, a bored expression making it way onto his face.
"What are you playing at?" she whispered, eyes flicking about the smoky veil, "Get it over with already."
The man seized her suddenly by the throat, as if her words had some provocation to them. Vivian let out a choked cry as he feet lifted from the ground, "And why would I do that? Especially when Daddy has a reward out for your safe return." he snorted, a thoughtful look came to his eye, "Although he wasn't clear on 'safe' .... nor was he specific about what route took you back to him."
Vivian had a few choice words for the way the man's words sounded, a little too cruel for the casual gaze he beheld her with. Such as it was, she was unable to speak with the breath being choked out of her. And so the soldier continued, "I think your family would be quite shocked to hear you've turned traitor to your own kind... and to think you were so promising... you'd have been a great spy."
The teenage girl glared at her captor as best she could, finding the barrier of darkness that pinned her body into its human form also bound her so that she was incapable of striking at her foe. It angered her to be held in a cage so to speak.
She worked her mouth to find words and breath, but neither came save a short swallow of air that the man allowed to keep her from passing out entirely. "I am willing to collect the handsome reward... but I want to see what the leader has to say."
Sheer will forced the words from her lips then, sacrificing the last of her air to allow them voice, "If you take me to Adel I'll kill you both!" she cried, pulling at the hand that crushed her throat.
He chuckled, shifting his grip as quick as lightning to drag her by the wrists into the dense foliage, "Then I wont be taking you to him, will I?" was the amused response.

Shane was now enraged both by the quick dispatch of his copied dragon creation and by the now evaporating lake. "It would seem my tricks will not work on you. And you claim my powers to be that of a novice? Let me show you what this novice has learned." He closed his eyes and took a deep breath. The rain stopped.... not as in quit falling, but stopped in midair. Each raindrop held in place.
As he opened his eyes once more, the rain began to freeze together forming an extremely thick box of ice around the fire leader. The rain began to fall again and much harder. The continuing rain, pelting onto the box of ice, froze upon it and re-enforced it. The ice ever so slightly was being allowed to melt on the inside, dripping water into the box. "No flame will be able to melt all the way through. And if you try... the box will fill up faster and you will drown sooner." The rain continued to thicken the box. "Let this be your tomb."
