"Well, now. Inuzuka Jinsoku-kun was it...?" Anzu recalls the boy saying he was told to come here to look for his teacher...but the dark-haired ANBU captain doesn't understand why he would come to him. Did he ever get a Genin squad...? How strange. A eternity seemed to pass before Nyame's muttered words from before and Jinsoku's claim hit him like a ton of bricks.
They weren't wrong, it was just that it had been almost two years since then!
What was the number again...? One didn't seem right...can't be three, somehow, he got the feeling three was taken. Five...? No, that isn't right. There was a fairly recent, but now graduated to Jounin, Genin squad under "team 5". Seven. He mused. That seems right...
"Conan-kun...Jinsoku-kun's was supposed to be part of Konoha's "team 7" squad." Whether the half Senju boy would realize the famous team number would be another story... "The team initialization was delayed thanks to the Fire Master's invasion. There were two others...a Uchiha or Aburame...and a girl from the Nara clan...Renshika was it?" A pause, as Anzu's eyes widened. "Oh...no...." Just a week ago, his ANBUs had discovered the corpse of a dead girl...and after an autopsy, they determined she was of the Nara clan. After some research...
Renshika, that had been her name...
"What a day..." The Senju ANBU captain groaned. First, Kokuyoku landing accusations on his teammates' deaths. Now, he have finally pieced together one of the kids he was supposed to protect was dead... Worse, he was actually in the village and not traveling like Megumi. Oh boy, oh boy.
"Your teammate, Nara Renshika was found dead last week by my squad. Apparently, she chanced upon a drunken Master supporter on the way home... It seemed she had tried to delay him...until she ran out of chakra." Anzu bowed his head. "No, there was no excuse. No matter the reasons...I had placed the safety of the higher ranked shinobis, who were more capable of defending themselves, over my students..."
In Konoha's history, Anzu was the only captain to lived with open acknowledgement to the title - because he was closest to Sannin-level and perfectly capable of defending himself. While it was true on one hand that he was busy arranging for smuggling his ANBU members out the village for "that plan"...as well as fostering internal dissent...he had forgotten about his Genin squad.
Oh. My. Kami-sama. What if the third was dead too?
---
At this time, the Senju clan usually holds special classes in the open pavilion...for herbology, poison cultivation, mixing antidotes and different potions. The Senju elders had no desire to go anywhere near Anzu today though... But after seeing yet another kid - the elder Melediana lost it. "What in the - ?! ANOTHER one?! This place is by no means a public meeting hall - what the hell is Anzu-sama thinking?" The seemingly mid-aged woman scowled, tossing her low sandy-coloured pigtails.
Charon, however, simply pointed to the path around the main house. "Anzu-sama's in the open pavilion...just follow that path around and keep walking straight. The pavilion is at the tip of the peninsula-like strip of land (reference: the second picture on the thread's first post)." And then, the seemingly dark-haired, mid-aged Senju elder preoccupied himself with dragging an irate Melediana back into the main house.

Conan was a little puzzled about what he had just seen. Irihi and the person he was arguing with had left after Anzu had put a stop to it and by stop Conan meant knocking him out. While the two had been arguing Jin had come up behind him and told him not to feel out of place. But maybe he misunderstood why he moved. True he felt out of place but he simply made a strategic movement to avoid the possibility a fight. But Conan felt it wrong to say something about so he had simply nodded. And now Anzu had told him and Jin this story about the team that Jin was supposed to be in. after the story Conan said with a questionable look on his face. “ Oh my… I’m so sorry Jin-Sempai. But…Anzu-sensei why are you telling me this as well? Wouldn’t it of been better to tell Jin-sempai in private?”

"Never had teams with holes become so bad..." Anzu muttered tiredly. "But since this is so... For the remaining Academy Students..." Anzu fixed his amber-hazel eyes on Conan. "You guys are probably not going to have your own cell. I'm not sure how Nyame-hime plans to grade the Exams, but there's a good chance you will end up on either my squad or Irihi-kun's." A short pause. "Provided that you pass the Genin Exams." He chuckled softly. "We have lots to do, right? Jinsoku-kun is more than welcome to stay. I shall give you an assignment while I finish introducing Conan-kun here to some of the plants here in the pavilion." Anzu wasn't bothered with the prospect of teaching multiple people at once.
But little did he know yet another was wandering the estate grounds...

Conan was thrilled to learn that he could end up on Anzu’s squad. Supplied he got past the genin exam. Conan would simply have to get strong enough to pass, simple, right? Anzu had said that they were going back to the plants and Conan let the smile return to his face as he blurted out a quick. “yay.” As he walked over to the last plant Anzu had pointed out the really complex looking one then Conan said “the last one you showed me was this one. And I don’t think that this one is poisonous. It looks complex but it doesn’t fall under one of the specific category’s you talked about.” Conan hoped he had it right but he could very well be wrong.

Akari followed the directions she was given and found her way to the pavilion where Anzu was. Her blue eyes gazed upon him and then she spotted Conan. Her smile brightened as she looked blankly upon him. She was here for extra lessons. Well at least that's what she thought. The world was so deranged so it was very well possible that what she was here for was never here at all. Either way she went with the flow of things not caring about the time of day or how much sleep she actually got. In fact she hadn't gotten sleep for a few days but she was still as new as she would have been if she had gotten sleep.

((Gaia is being a b***h...))
"Ah yes, the passionflower." Anzu gave a small smile at Conan, expecting for the boy to note the plant's name. "Very good. It is not among the poisonous species...in fact, I believe you'll enjoy learning what it does." A casual motion of the hand for the boy to follow him. Next, they were at a patch of aloe. But there was something very special about this particular question... "What about these, Conan-kun? Oh - ohayo, Akari-chan!" Sensing another chakra presence, a familiar one in the pavilion, Anzu looked up smilingly at the small girl. "Take a moment to observe it, Conan-kun."
Turning to Jinsoku, Anzu gave the Inuzuka these instructions: "I would believe that you haven't learned chakra control yet. Outside the pavilion, there are many trees. Use any you wish to practice on. Your task is to climb any one of those trees without using your hands. I shall be checking up on your progress right after I finish talking to Akari-chan here."

Conan finished writing down passionflower before following Anzu to another plant. The second Conan looked at it he knew what it was. “Oh Anzu-sensei this is Aloe. And its not poisonous. I remember this one time when I cut myself, my mom said she used it on my cut.” Conan finished as he smiled. Only then realising that Akari had shown up. Happily waving from where he was Conan said “Hey Akari-chan. Where were you today I waited for you at the meadows but you never showed up.” Conan didn’t mind that fact he had his books anyway. Conan turned his attention back to the Aloe plant and wondered what exactly it was used for

Akari lifted and eyebrow as she looked at Conan and heard his words. "You did?! I forgot all about you. Oops. Well I was busy trying my best to finish the handseals. I have two left." Akari said while turning her face towards Anzu. At the rate she was at she didn't stand much of a chance of learning everything in time for the exams. She gave out one long yawn as her eyes became calmer than before. She was still in her casual clothes because she hadn't bothered to dress up in her clan uniform unlike her brother. Her hair was in a ponytail behind her head and she was wearing a tan tank top with blue denim shorts and sneakers. Even without the clan makeup.

To Akari, Anzu said this: "Finish up the handseals first, Akari-chan. You wouldn't be able to learn the Jutsus otherwise." A small smile was on his face and at Conan's answer Anzu grinned widely. "Very good. You're correct...for this species at least. Conan-kun, never consume wild aloe either without getting it checked. Some species are poisonous, and I'm not talking about the kind used for the drinks anymore..." Perhaps so that Akari wouldn't be left behind, Anzu pointed to a neighboring patch of holly. Perhaps Conan would recognize these as the holiday decorations, those lovely plants with tiny red berries. "What of these, Conan-kun?"

Conan smiled at Akari as she gave an explanation and said “ I see don’t worry about it Akari-chan, your so close to finishing the handseals good luck.” Anzu had said that Conan had gotten this one right as well and it made Conan happy to know that he was moving in the right direction. The next plant that Anzu pointed out was one Conan already knew. It was holly the stuff they use during Christmas. “ Anzu-sensei this is holly. And I don’t think I’ve seen anyone ever eat the berries so I think that its poisonous.” It made Conan wonder about what exactly he could use this plant for. What purpose could it have?

Akari smiled gentle back at Conan's response to her reasoning. Instead of continuing the conversation which didn't need to be continued she took a deep breath as she began to work her fingers. Of course once she had yet another fail to this frustrating handseal she grew a bit furious as to why she couldn't seem to get it right. She was just going to get this done and then complain about how hard it was later. Even then she hated to dwell on things. She was just the type to get it done and move on not giving a single bit of care as to how complex or how many times she failed before she got it right. In her philosophy, without failing several times the job will never be truly accomplished for everything in life has a hardship. She knew that well.
Handseals The first thing the students needed to learn were the handseals that made the Jutsus possible. So I set them to learning all twelve. The rules are as follows: Roll 1d20 for each seal, one at a time. They must get a 12 or higher in order to correctly perform a seal. Each seal must be performed once correctly before being learned. Use the formula: [6 + 3 = 9]. DC: 12 Total Seals Learned: 10/12 This skill cannot be trained more than once. Rewards: +1 Intelligence

After a few minutes of collaborated thoughts, Akari closed her eyes for a couple of seconds and tried her luck again. To her surprise after spending a few minutes of staring at her hands she was able to come up with the right combo to put together that peculiarly evil handseal. Akari almost lifted up into the air bursting with laughter and cheer but she held her ridiculously childish act to herself. With only one more handseal to go she figured she would suffer insanely difficult hardships with her mad attempts at tackling the handseals. Her smile on the other hand, instead of bursting with enjoyment turned into a gruesomely devilish grin.

Soon after Akari completed the previous seal she moved onto the last one. Much to her surprise the seal was noticeably easy. With the seals drilled in her head she looked back up to Anzu. "Anzu sama, I'm finished with the handseals." Akari said as she addressed Anzu in a somewhat proper manner. As the sun fell down on her body her eyes glimmered beautifully in harmony as she looked towards Conan curiously. The best thing she could do was automatically move to assumption that Conan was doing quite well in his exercise or whatever it could be titled or labeled as.

((Written homework is found on the first page, first post in the Academy.))
"Good job, Akari-chan." A slight pause. "You did transfer into the class late, so here it is..." Anzu took out a rolled assignment scroll with the lessons the class already completed. "Don't forget the written assignment too." Anzu then continued on to explain Henge no Jutsu. "The fundamental Ninjutsu technique we will look at first is Henge no Jutsu, or the Art of Transformation." With that said, Anzu grew a wooden bust of what would appear to be a very nude woman. "All you have to do is - oof!!"
Nyame's wakisashi flew through the pavilion door, sheath hitting Anzu straight on the head. Guess she was back already. The wooden statue sank back into the ground when Anzu clutched his head in pain.
Nyame looked murderous. "What are you teaching my students?" The Hyuuga princess demanded, indignant. To Akari, Nyame instead handed her a pebble. "Use your chakra to layer your form to this pebble's image."
Henge no Jutsu: At the beginning of this lesson, the Students would each obtain a small pebble. Roll 1d20. You must get a 13 or higher to successfully transform into a crude image of the object. Each student is expected to complete this 5 times for the first day of training. Attach the following to each training post: Cp: Formula: 1d20 + Chakra Control Train: 0/5 If a student successfully performed the Jutsu, he loses -1 Cp. If a student failed an attempt, he would still lose -1 Cp. To regain Cp, they had to rest for one post and gain back +1 Cp. Rewards: +1 Chakra Control
"You're no fun at all, Nyame-himeeeee!" Whined a certain ANBU captain. His attention was returned to Conan's answer and Anzu frowned a little, tossing his high ponytail as he shook his head slightly. "Mostly correct. Right species and in its wild form, holly is toxic alright. But when cultivated correctly..." But Anzu stopped there and smiled at Conan again. "Make a star next to the name this time." Here was one of the wonderful things about the art of alchemy: shinobis knew how to prepare certain herbal species in ways the normal citizens didn't.
Their secret.
Next, Anzu took Conan to a patch of myrrh herbs. They were...odd. Having the appearance of young trees yet the strong scent gave certain hints as otherwise. "What of these, Conan-kun?"

Conan laughed when he saw Anzu make a wooden female come out of the ground. wow I never knew Anzu was a pervert he joked in his head. When Anzu was about to tell Akari to change into that a sheath had come out of nowhere and hit Anzu in the head. Laughing some more as Nyame had retuned. After Anzu had told him to mark holly down with a star Conan did so and said “I didn’t know you were like that Anzu-sensei” Conan was tempted to call him Euro-sensei but held his words. Conan smiled happily to himself as he started to look at the new plant Anzu had pointed out.
