Dawn frowned at Alice’s words. She gave the other girl an apologetic look. “I’m sorry, Miss, but it seems that I must go. But please, do consider at least tasting the juice.” Dawn made a gesture that looked something like a curtsy and turned away, walking briskly but gracefully out the door. “See you later, perhaps!” she called over her shoulder, despite feeling a bit frightened by the other girl.
----
Jack smiled weakly up at Alice as she approached but didn’t open his eyes. “I’m feeling just peachy. And angry, and sad, and elated, and…concerned?” He opened one eye to peer at her, and then the other. “Dear lord, are you actually concerned about me?” He chuckled quietly and sat up to make room for Alice on the couch. Suddenly it hit him that the elation he was feeling wasn’t his own, nor was it Alice’s. Then he heard the footsteps. “Did you bring a friend?” he asked curiously, looking past her into the aisles. He saw a face appear for a moment between some books, but then it quickly disappeared. Feeling as though he was intruding on her mind, Jack tried not to focus on her emotion, being reminded once again of turning a dial on a radio to tune in and out of stations. “I hate this,” he muttered to himself.

((hey guys, wow got alot of people here but I guess that's a good thing right, ok starting post here we go...oh where is everyone?))

Dimtri slowly woke. "ah...my head hurts like a son of a b****...wait a minute where am I" He looked around the room, he sat up on the hard bed and looked around, his things lay in his bags on the floor, his guitar and amp aginst the wall next to the bed. "atleast you weren't taken" he muttered looking at the guitar. He slowly got up from the bed and went throught his stuff, everything was there. "ok so I wasn't robbed...but why did they knock me out...well all I know is someone's gonna be in the hospital when I find out who cheap shot me".He walked over to the door and tried to open it "Son of a" his temper flared, a jolt of electricity jumped from his hand, he idmeatily let go of the door handle. "what the hell...they got the door volted or something?...but I didn't feel anything..."He was getting confused, He walked over to the bed and layed down. He pulled the head phones out of his coat pocket and pressed play on the MP3 player. I need to clear my head...I'm going nuts.

Lance kept toying with his zippo, furious. What he needed right now was... a guard walked over with a snarl and held out his hand palm up. Apparently someone got fed up with Lance's method of calming down.
-"Hand it over."
Lance only responded by giving him the finger, which resulted in the guard trying to take the zippo by force. Of course, Lance didn't just hand it over, so the two began fighting over it. Now this is what Lance wanted. Instant gratification. Lance and the guard just kept going at it, both landing numerous hits on the other.

Alice blushed slightly, why was she so concerned? After all...she had just met him. Could she be...attracted to him? No. Alice brushed off her emotions best she could, she didn't want him picking up on that. s**t. Too late. Jack looked at her with raised eyebrows.
"Quit molesting my emotions!" Alice yelled, smacking his arm, another blush rising on her cheeks.
"And I wasn't concerned." Alice mumbled as she turned away from him, even though she knew it was useless to deny it.
Jack chuckled again, "You where sooo concerned."
"Not uh!" Alice replied automatically.
"Woman I can feel emotions!!" Jack replied with a boyish grin.
Alice huffed and crossed her arms as she slumped on the couch.

“Aww, don’t get all huffy Wonderland, I’m only playing,” Jack said with a chuckle, turning to face her. He leaned back on the arm rest and threw his legs across her lap. He had his hands behind his head, making him took terribly conceited. Alice made a sad attempt to push him off, but Jack’s legs didn’t budge and he made no indication that he even noticed her protests. He was staring out the window and it was obvious he had already become lost in thought.
“What are you thinking about?” Jack heard Alice ask quietly.
“Fuzzy pink hippos,” he muttered without looking at her.
Alice sighed heavily. “Are you ever serious?”
“No. Do you ever shut up?”
Jack couldn’t sense it, but when he glanced over at her he thought she seemed almost hurt by the comment. He threw an arm across the back of the couch. He let his hand ruffle Alice’s hair, making her smile reluctantly. “Sorry, I’m feeling rather angsty. Though in my defense I did just find out some ***** doctor did naughty things to my body while I was drugged up on his operating table.”
Jack looked out the window again. Outside, the mountain and its blanket of snow seemed to stretch on forever. There was no sign of civilization anywhere. “How long have you been here Alice?” Jack asked suddenly. “Haven’t you ever tried to escape?” His hand slipped from her hair to her shoulder and tapped absentmindedly. The other was curled into a fist at his side. “There must be some way…”
PostPosted: Mon Jun 09, 2008 11:25 pm

Alice paused before answering, why would he ask such a thing? Of course she has tried to escape.
"I have been here for 2 years. I have tried to escape...many many MANY times. But the Dr. is way slicker than he looks. The guards are altered just like we are. But not with powers, but machinery. The nearest village is 7 miles away from the base of the mountain. That's if you get down alive."
"So your saying there is no hope for us?" Jack asked, his tapping on her shoulder stopped for a moment, waiting for Alice to answer.
"No I'm not saying that at all. What I am saying is that the Dr. has gotten cocky and comfortable. He has barely taken any extra precautions. All he has done is upgrade the guards and locks systems. Thats it. He is underestimating us, I know he is. Jack, if we all work together I think we can escape."
There was a pause, Jack had returned to his steady tapping, making Alice fidget with the silver ring on her index finger.
"So what do you know about this place? I mean you've been here long enough to know some stuff right?" Jack asked finally, still staring out the window.
"Oh I know tons of things, like that there are cameras everywhere even in the dorms, but not the bathrooms. There aren't microphones so we can talk freely. The fourth floor and basement are locked, and can only be accessed by key card and fingerprint ID. That also goes for the doors out of here. And as of now I only know of 2 ways off this mountain. 1. the helicopter, but seeing as no one probably has any experience with helicopters i think thats out. And option two, the snowmobiles, which are kept some where outside and are probably highly guarded."
Alice finished as she continued to examine her ring. She noticed Jack had stopped tapping. She looked up to see him looking at her curiously.
"How do you know all this?" he asked.
"It's amazing the things you hear when they think your unconscious. Also I snoop."
"And how do I know I can trust you? And that your not secretly working for Dr. Gerard?" Alice felt a twinge of hurt at him questioning her loyalty, but the hurt faded as she remembered what it was like to first come here, and she couldn't blame him.
"Jack, your just going to have to trust me." She met his golden eyes, hoping that he would some how know that she was loyal.

At least a minute went by before Jack even moved. “Alright,” he said finally, and he saw Alice let out a breath of relief. “I trust you. Please don’t make me regret that.” He slid his legs off of Alice’s lap and pulled his knees up so that he could rest his head on them, but his hand stayed on her shoulder, tapping away rhythmically.
“We need to get everyone together,” Jack mused. “I can tell them to trust you. You will have to tell them everything you told me, of course. Then maybe we can discuss an escape plan.” Alice looked a little unsure of this, but he ruffled her hair again and gave her a reassuring smile.
Jack reached his free hand up to his own head suddenly. The pain from earlier had gone away, but now his head felt like it was splitting in half, and for some reason his side hurt. Jack took a moment to lift his shirt up a fraction and peer curiously beneath it… Then quickly pushed it back down with a grimace.
“I look like a ragdoll under there,” he muttered. “Maybe we should wait a while and let everyone heal a bit before we try anything. I have a feeling we only have one shot at this.”
Jack fiddled with a loose thread on Alice’s shoulder and looked her over. “You don’t seem to be quite so damaged. Please tell me we only have to go through the lab once…” He put his feet down so that he was sitting Indian-style but still facing Alice. It was apparent that he had trouble holding still, however spacey he might be.
“I don’t much like hospitals, and this is ten times worse than any shot in the a** I’ve had to receive.” Alice raised an eyebrow and gave him a “What-the-F” look.
“I had a fever,” Jack said with a shrug. “And my mom was overprotective.” He frowned at the words, his boyish grin slipping away as he pretended to be very interested in Alice’s loose thread. “Guess she won’t have to worry anymore.” Jack shrugged again, but the gesture looked exaggerated, making it seem like he was trying to push something off.
“I’m hungry,” he said suddenly, smiling up at Alice. “Do you have any food around here that isn’t tainted Wonderland?”

Charlie was on her way out of the dining hall when Jack nearly ran her over. He probably already knew a little of what was going on because he had tried to warn her about the juice. Did that mean that he was running from his power? Charlie let him run, figuring that he needed some alone time. She would have time to thank him later. Right now, she needed to think.

As she left, she could see a girl dripping water from her face, and one with pink hair caused another girl to scream without touching her. Where does this "doctor" get off doing this to other human beings? He's caused us all enough pain already. Why doesn't he let us go?

I wonder what will be wrong with me. Other than the obvious... Charlie wandered the halls until she found a flight of stairs. She took them two at a tome, hoping that the exertion would take her away from her thoughts. But no matter. Even if it didn't, there was hopefully still a pair of earbuds upstairs that would.

Charlie smiled to herself when she found her mp3 player still in among her things. But she didn't want to stay in her room. It was too sterile, like the half-remembered lab walls she had seen before. Suppressing a shudder, she walked back out of her room and downstairs again, increasing the volume with every step. Ah, that was better. All consious thought was erased from her mind as guitars and screaming took their place.

Once back on the second floor, Charlie wandered aimlessly, lip-synching to songs off of "Three Cheers for Sweeet Revenge." Charlie smirked a little at the thought of sweet revenge. Oh, how she wanted to exact some on the people at this place. But she was still curious about the poison that the "doctor" had given them all. What were they now capable of?

Charlie turned a corner and opened the first door she saw. She smiled when she saw that the walls were lined with books. She could definitely hide out in a library. Even if other people were there, there had to be a corner in there somewhere that was empty. She quickly turned right and went until she hit the other wall, and sat down in the corner with her head resting against the books on the wall.

He pulled out his wallet at took out a credit card and tryed the old card trick like in the movies. Nothing. ok...apperently that only happens in movies. "HEY...someone let me outta here" he shouted and strated reefing on the door, getting frustrated he kicked the door."F***" He shouted holding his foot. "...stupid f*****g door" he mummbled.

In truth, Thorn had closed the book for awhile......to eavesdrop on the conversation between "Jack" and "Alice/Wonderland", hearing both of those names. She knew that Alice looked very experienced and must have been here quite awhile, and the conversation only proved point.

First off, she learned all the tricks and lack of tricks that the doctor put, meaning the bathrooms were the only safe place in these walls that there wasn't a camera. Also, Jack seemed to be a bit cocky of himself (grrr!), and she highly wished he hadn't worded it as, and quote: "some ***** doctor did naughty things to my body while I was drugged up on his operating table.” End quote. It sent creeps up her spine just thinking about it. He was too cocky for his own good; she'd have to set his mind straight before they escaped.

So, it was helicopters and snow mobiles, the nearest village being 7 miles down the mountain. Ouch, that wasn't going to happen on foot. Although, part of her would rather die than stay here, seeing as there was no one left to care for her well being......

Clutching the book in her arms, she also realized that the Doctor was also being cocky, and that might bring to his downfall if they all teamed up. Oh goody goody.....

Finally done for the moment, she went back to the wall and opened back to page one; the book was so wonderful already, that the only way she could actually snoop on the conversation was to close it to stop reading more words. She kept her ears open, though, as she began to move to page 2.

Ace could say with certainty that this was the first time he'd ever sat still in his whole life. He rested his head against the cold slab of wall behind him and shut his eyes. He had never been good with words, written or spoken, and life had always been a series of pictures in motion for him. Right now they were swimming in his head with incredible alacrity.

Waking up in the....room...after the initial spasms of pain had subsided and given him time to explore his surroundings, it became very clear that something was very wrong. He tried to wrack his brain for answers- where had he stumbled off too the night before? But every time he came to the conclusion; home to his bed. So how had he ended up here? Ace had found himself in pretty hairy situations before but never had he felt the cold spike of dread that pooled in his stomach.

Then the announcement had come through the speaker but he paid it no heed; the mere thought of anything related to food sent his rebellious gut into feverish roiling and that forced him into the bathroom, where he collapsed in dry heaves for many minutes. That was where he was when someone began banging on his door....and then the trip to the cafeteria, walking through unfamiliar corridors, twists and turns... the guard saying the were late, late for what? They never actually walked in; the speech had begun ahead of them and the man's voice carried through the place, enough for the duo at the door to hear the tail end and Ace to understand.

He opened his eyes and let his legs slide down to the ground, oblivious to the stab of pain that assailed his heel. Gifts and powers... So his parents had finally done their worst and dumped him at the mercy of yet another sociopath doctor. The pictures stopped swirling and feeling returned with a vengeance- shock at their temerity, anger both at them and himself for dropping his guard, the pain of betrayal, and riding fast at its heels, thick and cloying guilt. He began clenching and unclenching his hands, his feet began pounding the floor with increasing agitation. Those bastards! They think that they can put me out of the picture by selling me to this sicko? Ace let the anger flow through him but the other emotions he quickly shut out as he got to his feet and began pacing his small room. How dare they? After everything they've done to me, the think I'm just going to quietly disappear, so that they can get their hands on Benny-

"Benny!"

The thought of his sister was enough to make him pause. He was here, probably thousands of miles away from home with no idea what direction home was, and his little sister was alone, unguarded and defenseless.
No....I gotta get out of here! I have to get back home, I have to get Benny. The man had warned against trying to escape but then there hasn't been a jail built that has kept him for long.

Brynn Syvra didn't know what to do. She didn't know her way around and there was barely anybody left in the dining hall. She saw another boy and a guard getting into it, and she decided to leave. Why should I include myself in affairs of people who don't interest me? She decided to follow Dawn, and as she stood outside the dining room and listened, she heard Dawn's quick steps down a hallway to the right. She slipped down the same passageway, ignoring the beautiful sights of the mountains outside the windows as she passed them, her newly maroon hair dragging on the floor. She kept her eyes focused ahead, so she saw the girl with short hair that the boy who'd run out tried to warn about the juice go into a room, and since she saw books, she assumed it was a library. However, when she peered inside the door as she passed, she heard voices. They would want her to talk if she went in there and she did not wish to speak to people she didn't find important, so she passed on. The only sign of her passing to those inside the library was the sound of Brynn's long hair dragging on the stone.
Brynn saw Dawn slip into a room, and she padded silently up to it. She twisted the knob slowly, and looked inside as she slipped in. Dawn was sitting on the floor facing away from Brynn clutching a stuffed unicorn to her chest, but she soon whipped around as she heard the click of the door shut behind Brynn. They locked eyes, and Dawn couldn't look away. Brynn stared back unblinkingly, and then began to speak. Brynn was muttering under her breath, thinking out loud, but Dawn was able to hear every word in the dead quiet of the room.
"For some reason, you capture my interest. Have i seen you before? Do i know you?" Brynn began to move towards Dawn, but she could tell Dawn was torn between bolting and remaining still. "No and no. Why..." Brynn knelt in front of Dawn, never once breaking eye contact, "...do you attract my gaze when nobody else does?" Brynn took Dawn into her arms, and after a moment's stiffness, Dawn clutched at Brynn's sleeve and held on. "Maybe, it's an instinct. I wouldn't know, I don't have any siblings. Yet, you're the youngest here. You still have the courage not to run." Brynn began absentmindedly stroking Dawn's hair, staring unseeing at the wall trying to figure out why Dawn held so much interest for her. "Admirable yes, admirable." They stayed there a while, Brynn holding Dawn and stroking her hair. "I will protect you like no other will." And for some reason, Brynn knew she could keep that promise.

Alice internally flinched at the mention of "mothers", and suppressed a shudder.
"At the moment no. But things should be serum free later. They have probably realized that injections would be easiest...Sorry." She answered as she stood slowly, brushing the folds from her plain skirt. Jacks hand slide from her shoulder, landing with a thud on the cushion.
"I'm going to go to my dorm, my head is starting to hurt. If you need me my dorm is the last one in the hall on the right. Oh and the dorms are on the third floor ok?"
"Alright." Jack said as he watched Alice turn and leave. Alice was well aware of her eavesdropper. That she anticipated on. Now hopefully Jack wouldn't be the only one who trusted her at least a little.
As Alice left the library she began to think of the serum. Did they honestly think that they could give her the same dosage and expect her to not start to become immune to that amount.
"Old fools..." Alice muttered to herself. She glanced up at the florescent light bulbs dotting the ceiling and she wondered how much of her powers had returned.
She stopped walking and focused on the bulb, it flickered slowly at first then quickened until there was a crack and the light went out. Her powers were still very weak, but it was good enough.
She continued her way towards the stairs when she saw a flicker of a shadow. Curious, Alice walked towards it until she rounded a corner. There she saw a boy with dark hair and a distant expression.
"Are you looking for the dorms? I can show you if you'd like.." Alice offered.

As he was walking along another insignificant hallway, Damien heard the cracking of glass and saw the light dim around the corner, which suddenly triggering another vision. He saw a girl come around the corner, she had blood red hair and striking green eyes. Something told him that her name was Alice. Damien noticed that this vision was completely clear, unlike the other ones before. There was something about this girl, Alice, but he couldn't quite place it.

Damien waited, and sure enough, a few moments later he heard footsteps. The girl rounded the corner, obviously she knew he was there because she immediatly asked if he was looking for the dorms.

"What makes you think I am?" Damien replied. "You look lost." said Alice, "Come on. I was just headed there myself." Damien just nodded and fell in step behind her.
