Nevira Shadowfire eek Wow...thanks for the help, Kimyanji cool That cleared up stuff I wasn't sure about. biggrin عفْواً That is the most commonly used answer for a thank you... which literally means "pardon" as in "pardon (me from thanks)" meaning "I don't deserve thanks" thus trying to show modesty...

Archelaus babyfox87 Anyone here speak lebanese?? or are from there Im becoming a bit confused. Is lebanese a dialect of Arabic or is Lebanese a separate language. The day before someone was saying they spoke Syrian and i was thinking isnt Arabic spoken in Syria sweatdrop . It is a dialect of Arabic, but some Lebanese want it to be defined otherwise, for political reasons - they're interested in calling in "Lebanese" instead of "Lebanese Arabic" and even change the alpabet, making it the Phoenician alphabet. This can be done, as it's happened with Serbian and Croatian (ex-the Serbo-Croatian language), it's just that many others don't share this 'vision'.

My school offers Arabic as a language. we use the Al-Kitaab series, which work quite well.

skyeye84 I'll be learning Arabic in college in the spring. I've heard arabic spoken and the script used. What should I know before I start? I can't think of anything in particular. You're going to need a lot of patience; the alphabet can get pretty tricky, and it takes some practice, but it's perfectly "doable".

I'm stuck. I know there's something wrong with the sentence, the marked word in particular, but I can't quite decide how it should be solved. رأيت بنتا هربت من المدرسة.
