"I think perhaps a bit too much," Amdir chuckled, closing the door of the shed with one foot and starting back towards where the others would be waiting for them. "But after living for so long, one must find something they enjoy to pass the time. After all, three thousand years is a long time. Nearly four thousand, they were both born two Ages ago."
"Hey do you think you can take me with you when you go?" Adan asked eagerly. "I would love to go traveling with you! I like traveling! I haven't gone in years!"
Adonai chuckled. "You make it sound as if you're ancient. But no, if Shael and I go, it will be just the two of us. Nice private little journey. If you want to travel, you ask your parents, or else wait until you're old enough to go on your own."

"You can probably travel by yourself in a couple more years," Lin told Adan, "Probably before I can travel."
She was sure, she still had one more stage to go, and she wasn't going to be travelling by herself neither. Not to mention Adan was probably pretty good at looking after himself.

Ryu seriously couldn't imagine living that long, but then again he didn't know how long mers lived in the first place.
"That is..." he murmured, "a very long time."

"And maybe Ara-kun will take me somewhere sometime," Adan grinned hopefully. "He keeps talking about expanding my training, I think maybe I could convince him."
"Probably," Adonai agreed. "He does seem to have a soft spot for you. I swear, no one spends time with that man like you do."
"Indeed," Amdir chuckled. "Just imagine then how long Aragost's been alive. First elf created and all that. That puts him at something like ... thirty thousand or something."

"That would be fun," Lin mused.
Well... as fun as it could get if one was into that sort of thing, which Lin was. Though she wasn't sure what it was like to really camp out (though she did a bit) and travel (which she hadn't yet).
"What else are you doing now?" Lin asked Adan.

"Ara-kun's teaching me more fighting methods," Adanedhel replied to Lin with a grin. "He's already taught me the ancient tongue, and all about history and geography, and tracking and identifying, hunting ... stealth, shooting, swords, throwing knives, whip, daggers, hand to hand," he counted it all off on his fingers, "and Ada's taught me about horses, and I've been working with Tao ... so now Ara-kun's teaching me to expand my senses ... seeing without my eyes ... hearing without my ears, smelling without my nose, and so on."
"Show-off," Amdir called as he and Ryu came back with the rope and the seats. "Now come on, make yourself handy and come grab some of this stuff."
Adonai ran over and took the ropes from on top of the seats, handing it off to Adan and Adwin, then took the two small seats and set them on the ground. "Got it?"
"We're good," Amdir nodded, lowering his end of the bench to the ground. "Here's fine, Ryu."

That was a very long list Lin thought as she turned to see what it was the two men were carrying.
"They're so pretty!" Lin looked on in wonder of the seats.
She really liked the single seater, the wings looked so pretty.

Ryu nodded lowering the seats on the ground, he had to chuckle at the list they had overheard while carrying the things. It looked like Adan hadn't slowed down at all in learning.
At least he grew out of carvings he would hate to see how many Adan would have had, had it never stopped.

Adan grinned. "Neko spent lots of time on them, almost a whole year I think," he told Lin importantly. "He's really good. He tried to teach me how to carve once, but I kept cutting myself so he said I had to wait until I was older."
He paused thoughtfully and looked up at Amdir. "Ada, am I older enough to learn that yet?"
Amdir let go of the bench and brushed his hands together. "I would imagine so," he shrugged. "You are ten after all."
"I want to learn too!" Adwin spoke up immediately. "I'm not ten yet but I'm big!"
"You can wait until you're ten as well," Amdir said firmly. "The last thing I need is you cutting up yourself and your sister."
Adwin pouted.

She had never thought of carving, but then again Lin didn't think herself as being artistic that was for certain. It sounded like something more of what Trisha would do. Lin thought about her older sister, she should bring Trisha here, she would like that.
"How long ago was it when you tried?"

"It would be better to wait, and then when you start learning you can ask Adan for help as well as your grandfather," Ryu murmured to Adwin.
Though he didn't know if that would help any, he knew getting a cut wasn't pleasant at all.

"Three or four years ago," Adanedhel replied to Lin's question. "Before the last time you were here. Hey if you're going to be here for a while again, maybe we can ask Ara-kun to take us up into the mountain again! It would be neat to go back to the cave. Ahren can come with us this time."
He paused.
"Did Shiro-kun come this time?"
Adwin pouted at Ryu. "Well I want to do what Adanedhel does," he muttered. "He gets to do everything he wants."

Lin shook her head, "Not this time, Shiro is back home with everyone else."
It was a pity that he wasn't here, they all did have a lot of fun going on adventures and stuff.
"Since Elnara and the others aren't visiting this time.. well except for Celebor, but he's going with Daddy again."

"Well I'm sure not everything, but it seems like that since he's older," Ryu replied softly, "You just need a bit more time to get more experience, learn more before you can do exactly what Adan does."

"Pity," Adan frowned. "Ah well. Another time perhaps."
He was indeed growing up, not only in size, but also in speech, attitude and vocabulary.
"Give a hand," Amdir called the children back to attention; and they all started working to get the swings up and working nicely.
Meanwhile, Shael was just finishing the tour of her and Adonai's house with the others, and heading back outside, smiling brightly. "Anyways, you'll be wanting to see Ulani before you head over to the ranch," she commented, heading back towards Ulani and Ulrich's house. "Kara, did you want to see Aliya before you headed over? After all, I'm sure you would like to see the kids again, and you don't really need to know where they'll be going for the hunt."
