He was just scared is all. It's very easy to frighten a guy with all that at once. I'm pregnant--I love you--I want to marry you? Come on! It's enough to frighten anyone...

We can't judge. People do crazy things. Maybe he got delayed. Remember, seh moved in two or three years.

I wouldn't say that... I'd think that if he truly did love her he would not fault up when she truly needed him...you have to give men more credit kirbs... at least most of them...

I don't judge him too harshly. He gave her happiness, even when he wasn't around. He wasn't that bad of a guy; he just didn't want attachments.

You're thinking outside the tone of the story.

Think of it from Janine's perspective. Who ever pleased her? And who ever gave her a child?
He did a lot of good. Men are weak. But he didn't really do any harm except make her expect more than he was capable of.

He seemed like such a sweet guy though. I would say he would have at least given her a chunk of cash, or lived with her for a year before he got stressed and left. That's usually how things go. I mean, I can understand him walking out at first, but then coming back and trying to make amends, or talking her into getting an abortion or something. I don't know, I don't see him walking away for good as realistic. But maybe that's just my view.

You'/ve got a point. But he DID come back. Just after she'd left.

Not all men are weak... : P and I can kinda see what you mean but did he really make her happy or did he give her more heartache? BTW: more please?

I'm rethinking. What I'm thinking he did is, he left for a couple of months, came back, but Janine wouldn't let him in. He was scared of having kids, he suggested that if she aborted it he would be glad to come back, stay with her until he was ready...but she wasn't about to get rid of it by then. She was brokenhearted; she told him to get lost, and was dismayed when he actually did. By the time he came back, she had already moved.

I like that thinking better, it's more realistic, yet enough to hurt Janine.
