And Noah was determined to follow through with all of his half-promises. When the trolly stopped, it was on the other end of town. They could hail a cab, he rationalized.
And, hey. Ice cream stand.
"Whaddya want, suga'?" he asked, peering up at the menu.

"I need a banana spit and a strawberry cone."
"Sugar or waffle?" came the bored reply.

Noah chuckled and rubbed his girly-boy's head. In minutes, the ice cream was out, and Noah led Veli to a little coated-metal table where he sat down to eat. Mmm. Banana.
