Li mentally kicked herself, she should have known nobody could give her the answer she needed. Why did she have to go and compromise herself and ask such a stupid question?
Li looked at Akki sheepishly.
"I just, I just don't feel like a now myself anymore." Li said in her way of an explanation. She wasn't ready to share her past. Not yet.
Your ears are a different shape than they used to be. Li berated herself silently. And what about the cliff? Something happened, what if you happened? Li gestured that she was ready to keep moving.
I should trust her, after all she has a pheonix.
They could talk once they were at Akki's dwelling.

Li hurried to take off her boots by the door way, and glanced up at the picture Akki had spoken to. Guess I'm not the only one who's lost people they're close to. Li felt like a fool. Staying strong and secret seemed like such a good idea, until you realise how cold and hugry you are, and how much crave company again. Wish I had a picture of my parents. Li thought to herself as her eyes misted over. Looking at the hilt of her father's dagger- to calm her mind and hide her eyes- Li gave herself a stern talking to. One person is nice to you and you just fold over! Pull yourself together! A deep breath restored her nerves. Akki was a demon, maybe she could help Li, if Li really was turning into a demon like her brother.

Li followed Akki into the kitchen, feeling confused. Perhaps I should tell Akki about Benji, after the meal. Li felt out of place, so she sipped her tea, it was delicious, the drink not burning her tongue at all. Li rubbed her ear absent-mindedly and gave a small scowl- her ears definately had changed shape. How can I be human and have ears like these? And a brother like Benji? Akki must be able to help me. Akki looked absorbed in her chopping so Li amused herself by boiling her tea, yanking the heat out to cool it, then heating it again. I've got more control than I used to. Li thought to herself, with a little pride. It had been a few weeks before Benji's death that Li's powers had begun developing, she'd had no training whatsoever, so she was pleased to have developed her control all by herself. Akki looked up, Li smiled at her, she really seemed like a good person, even if Akki couldn't help her, Li felt safe for the first time in weeks.

"Thanks" Li murmured gratefully. Li ate a neatly as possible, then had seconds. Her own meals on the road had been painfully limited by what Li could catch or find. At least her powers had made the actuall cooking part easy.
Looking up from her stew, Li studied Akki's face.
Can I really tell her? She seems like a trustworthy person, even if she can't help me I think I can trust her to keep my story to herself.
Li's eyes darted down guiltily as Akki looked at her, sensing her gaze.
How do I do this? Li thought.

Li looked into Akki's eyes It's okay, I can do this
My village was destroyed, by a demon. Li said sadly, the images of the devatation flickering through her eyes.
"My brother, Benji...it was him." Li took a shuddering breath. In her mind's eye, she could still remember that terrible moment, when it all fell into place. The way Benji's eyes had changed.
"I killed him, but I had no where to go. And I didn't understand my powers."
I don't want to be like Benji Li's eyes were unfocused, as her subconcious forced her to live that terrible battle again.
"He was like a monster, black, scaly, with horns and talons. He set fire to the village, our house. He threw me inside but he didn't know of my powers. The fire couldn't hurt me. In the end, all I could do was push him of the cliff. I went down with him...I don't know how I survived." But Li remembered waking at the top of the cliff, it was as if she had sprouted wings and flown to safety.
"And now, " Li said. "I'm changing. My ears are different shape to what they used to be." Li pushed her messy hair back, showing her ears which now had a difinite point. As she spoke, her pointed teeth caught the light.
"I just don't get it." Li said desperately, looking a Akki. I start looking different, and then I can control fire. It doesn't make sense." Li's voice rose, looking down, Li regained her composure and drew her dagger out of its sheath.
"My father always called this the family emblem." Li said, handing the dagger hilt first to Akki, so she could look at the dragon design.
"I always heard the old stories of dragons, the ancient masters of fire. So I thought here would be the best place to look for answers."
Li looked hopefully at Akki.
"Do you recognise the design at all?"

Dragon is better than demon Li thought to herself, and it would explain her physical changes.
"Is there any way I could find out?" Or do I just wait.
Li looked out the window, the sun had set.
"Maybe the clan leader would know." Li ventured.
"Is there anywhere I could go to meditate?" Li could use some quiet time.

Akki pondered
'doubtful Kagai would know...' she thought to her self.
"The only person i know who would be able to tell you if you ere part dragon, was my fathers sensie..but..i dont even know if she's still alive, or where she could be. I know she was part Dragon.Other than that you'll just have to wait it out till more physical or any new powers emerge" She stopped and sighed, she rubbed her temples a bit.
"meditation..um..under the city, the cave of meditation, the opening to far from here, just go about 20 minutes due west and you're there you can miss it. You're welcome back here when your done"
She gave her a reassuring smile and a bit of nod.
