Slumped on the cushion and scratching his head in confusion Kazuma tried to figure out exactly what was going on. There had been alot of commotion people running around and shouting and some explosions or something but he hadn't been paying any attention to what was going on... The dancers were much more interesting. " Think Kazu... Not not about their chests about the explosions! " He yelled at himself while tapping on his forehead. If he remembered correctly they were HUGE and barely covered... OH right the explosions... They came from under them if he could remember correctly. It was a good a place as any to start looking.

Atleast he was able to remember the way back down and out of the observation tower although he had failed to find his way in under the arena's. Maybe the explosions had opened up a hole and there was a way down through one of the actual arena floors. Everyone was too busy running around doing who knows what to help him so finding his way down there on his own was the only option. The arena floors were easier to get too he'd seperated from Kana and Aya just outside them. No such collapsed section existed when he got in there but there was something else... A body? On a closer inspection and after a few pokes and kicks to the side he came to the conclusion that whoever this person is they were infact dead. Kazuma couldn't quite work out who this guy was, he didn't look like any of the other people that came from this city and his weapon was... " AWESOME!" He practically squeeled with excitement as he pulled the katana free from the death grip of the corpse. " Finders keepers!" He taunted the body by poking his tounge at him as he strolled off with the awesome sword. It was way bigger than the one Kana had!

((Really!? Good to know! =]

Oh, I have already been using that kind of profile division. xD))

Yuu laughed again when Konpaku licked his cheek...

Hehe...that tickled!

But he felt much better with the reassurance from the black panther. Somehow...somehow everything will be all right... He cast a final look at the comforting warmth of the sunlight, pooling golden patches here and there in the grove. The scent of Spring heavily pervading the senses, the fresh dewy smell of the grass and crowns of flowers and darkly emerald leaves adorning the branches, not that unlike from the elegant headdresses of the ladies of the court... He hummed softly, the mere feeling of life filling his senses...it gave him a quiet joy he couldn't quite understand, but it was by far from unpleasant...no...

Perhaps...

User ImagePerhaps it wasn't so bad having mother nature being part of him.

Mn?

Konpaku wants him to follow?

So followed he did...

Medical ward?

A visit to Huwei-sama, perhaps?

Voices...

Ah! San!

It's 'Yochi-jotei'. Reminded the stern voice of one of the Lords in his mind. You are to properly address our Lady Empress by her title...

He winced.

He met them halfway, though. When there weren't anyone else around, he would call her by name...

So doing his best to keep the soft smile that wanted to gently curve the corners of cherubic, pale-rosy lips, he instead settled for a passive face of respect. It would have probably made the teens in the room wonder why a mere child was here...

A courteous bow. "Good afternoon, Jotei-sama..." Or part of what could be done, considering the ornamental hat on his head and the ball in his arms...

Though the Kage, he watched with a somewhat coldly passive expression, green-gold gaze oddly scrutinizing for a child his age (note: picture went a little bit above, makes the post look horrible if placed here...). Partly heterochromic orbs... Though there wasn't that much light in the medical ward compared to outside in the grove, what light was present caught the golden tints of color in darkly emerald eyes.

"..."

The look was only brief, settling for a mere moment, and his attention returned to his Empress.

For him, only San mattered, after all...

She was his world.

"STOP!" a guard yelled out as several came rushing after Kazuma. "A Katana, he must be with the Samurai!" the guards all yelled out. There were all on edge now, seeing anyone with a Katana instantly meant they could be accomplices. "Grab him!" another guard yelled out as a large dog pile of guards in armor squished Kazuma to the ground. "We got him! We got him!" the guards all yelled out as the heaved Kazuma up to his feet. "Take him to the prison with the other samurai to be interrogated," the guard ordered. Any pleas that may have came from Kazuma's mouth would be ignored! He was a person, even if he was a kid, with a katana and near the body of his fellow samurai. "Inspect the dead body! Maybe he was trying to get something off his comrade," the guards said as they took the sword into custody, took Kazuma to prison and began investigating the body.

( I deleted my post I made before Zu's but I'll use the same roll I had in that one which was 1.)

Kazuma didn't realize the guards were yelling at him until they were practically ontop of him, he was too busy studying the Katana and wondering what a weapon like this was doing around here. " Samurai?" He mumbled as he looked up just in time to see the guards barreling towards him. There wasn't even time to get make a sound before he was practically crushed under the pile. All that was visible of the poor kid was a boot sticking out from the side of the pile. After that it was easy enough for them to overpower him and disarm him of the Katana. " LET ME GO YOU IDIOTS! " His screams went in vain as he struggled in the guards grip.

User ImageSilence seemed to fall over the room like a heavy blanket after the young girl with the pale blue hair spoke out to her Kage. Had this man not been Kage for several years now? Did he still not have the respect of his people even after a year of leading them through war? It seemed to be more than that. San wanted to see into this young girl's thoughts as she held her emotions out in open hands. Slowly, she rose her hand up with the black tattoo of the infinity circle. She wanted to calm this room and not be an agitator to a foreseen rebellion. It seemed that the Kage of Shimagakure would have a rebellion on his hands, but San didn't want it to occur now, here in her home. "Please, I don't mind," the empress interjected quickly, hoping to calm the fiery young girl down before her Kage lost his edge, which San could see he was holding in by the white of his knuckles. San was in fear that the information Kana had given her was information that Shinichi would not like her to know. The Kun 'Kumo would most likely be on bad terms with the Kage, but San would see to it that no harm came his way, since she was going to join the courteous young man and his partner.

Giving the two a moment to let their boiling hearts simmer down, San cleared her throat. "I had spoken to Kana about Ichi's current state. My herbalist, Song Huwei, is very skilled with medicinal herbs, unstable physical states and many other things. He is a skilled scientist along with being a skilled doctor. I offered his help to Kana before the attacks began and in return, Kana aided my soldiers in stopping the collapse of the arena," the woman said as she turned her bright green eyes to the boy silently sleeping in the bed. "I'm saddened to see that he has come back in such a state, but I'm am very thankful," San said as she closed her eyes and placed her hand over her heart. "That is why I wish to also come with you to your home. This young man has so much to offer and he reminds me of Ichi in so many ways. I wish to teach him some of the things that Ichi taught me," San said honestly as she had taken note earlier of the familiar sword that Kana kept at his side, but did not wield.

"There is also something else I'd like to request," San said just as a small child came into the room. A smile came across San's sakura pink lips as he walked in so silently and respectively. His behavior wasn't strange at all, because San knew Yuu very well and looked at him as a mother would. "Yuu-kun," San said sweetly as the boy looked over to the Kage. She held out her arm for him as she moved towards him, beckoning for him to stand under her arm like the protective wing as a mother would to her baby bird. "This boy is very precious to me," San spoke as she looked down at Yuu, admiring his eyes as they gave off the small glints of gold within the emerald green. "His chakra is strong and very unique. I'd like for you to help him grow just as Ichi helped you grow," San said to Aya, and Aya alone, knowing that one who was so skilled in medical techniques and even more skilled in ninjutsu possessed such great potential that she could share with this child of hers. "He needs somewhere sheltered and peaceful to blossom and it seems our time of peace is coming to an end once again," San said sadly as she pulled Yuu closer in a gentle hug.

Demonic Existence

PostPosted: Wed Jul 29, 2009 10:10 pm

Ringing. Ringing was the only noise that he could make out in the jumble of audio that presented itself in the dark abyss that was his mind. Kana lied lifeless in the pool of sound, unable to differentiate the audio from voices or explosions. Every inch of his being ached with an intensity that he had never felt before, it almost felt as though the skin had been ripped right from his body and a stinging sensation coated his figure. At the same time his insides screamed for attention in the same hurtful way, creating pain deep within him. The Kun' Kumo was just a big ball of hurt at the moment, and nothing could change that except for his own personal guardian angel. The noises became louder and louder as the pain flowed through his body as fast as electrons around a nucleus. The feeling of cold cement ruble still presented itself to the young mans senses even though he was in the care of his loved ones. Silence, that is what came unexpectedly next. He stayed in silence and was free of all his pain, a light glinting far off in the distance. At first Kana thought he was dead. Immediately he had regretted never being able to tell Aya how he entirely felt about her, how she was the earth to his universe. She was the thing that let their be a life that was bearable, in particular his life. The young woman was his sun, that brought beautiful warmth to his heart and helped him grow in every way imaginable. She was his moon, that controlled the seemingly depth-less rage and anger that he kept caged like a forbidden beast. Aya was his ocean, the soothing and gentle but also rough and controlling body in his life that kept his stubborn a** alive and in check. Even though he was not conscious his eyes developed small tears that seeped through the cracks that were his sealed eyelids. Trickling down his chick the tear was barely noticeable.

His body jerked slightly, and this was the reaction to his desperate attempts to try and awaken from his deep comma-like slumber. Kana's fingers twitched and eye's flickered. The red and greenish eyes rolled into sight between his barely opened eyelids, and the only thing visible to his was a troublesome light that blinded him from most of his view. Breathing in he could feel a sharp arching pain across his back and stomach and an ever present sting in his legs and arms. "A..." Kana said without even looking around the room. He closed his mouth and strained his neck, nudging his head against the pillow of the hospital bed which caused his auburn hair to drop down into his pain stricken eyes. "Ay. . ." He grit his teeth, which only caused more pain and created an even worse look of distress upon his face. His torso jumped up from the hospital bed, held up by love alone. "Aya. . ." Kana said in a moderate tone as he looked around the room with a blank expression on his face until he found his one true love. He wanted to so badly reach out to her but his body couldn't sustain his posture any longer, and he went limp and landed back into the hospital bed. The Kun' Kumo's back arched violently and he let out a small cry between his tightly locked jaw. Coughing a bit he leaned his head over so that he may see Aya and only her, that was the top priority on his list and he could never let her down. His bandaged body laid silently in the bed with tearing eyes for a few moments, and his mind was rethinking the situation he was in before the wall had came crashing down upon him. Rotatining his head a bit he could see everyone in the room, and felt like a bit of a fool for a moment. "I got the Samurai. . ." Kana whispered with a small bloody grin.

Theme Song: Main Theme

As expected, he held the bow, waiting until the Empress would acknowledge his presence...

Though the position was stiff by appearance, he held himself without any deviations in posture. When San called his name, that was the cue and then came the gradual elation from the genuflection - not too quickly, no, for that would be improper and crude, but gracefully while as he too downcasted his gaze in respect.

San beckoned for him to come to her, and he drew close...

He listened as she spoke.

A request?

Though his face kept passive, the very slightest widening of green-gold eyes hinted to his surprise...

When he spoke to Konpaku earlier, expressing the desire to grow strong...he had always expected that some day he will perhaps be training to be part of the Empress' guard...or to take the Civil Service Exam so that someday he could perhaps help with mediating either international or disputes within the nation...so that never again, for these sort of terrorist attacks to come to pass...

Certainly, the last thing he had expected was shinobi training.

But even while...even while that was surprising...it made...sense...

After all...what would be the use of possessing a unique line, a power unseen before...if the gifts the Higher Powers deemed to grant him were left to the dust...?

Yet...

Yet...still...

It felt as almost a heavy weight dropped in his heart. It wasn't exactly shinobi training that he was averse to, no, anything that San asks of him he would embrace with the greatest joy... No...rather...oh, San will be coming with them...? For a little while, most likely... Will Konpaku, then, too...?

But...even then, it won't really be goodbye, right...?

If he grows stronger...then he can too make his wish to protect reality...

But...

A somewhat uncomfortable silence reigned, though nothing hinted to the whirling emotions in that small body. His eyes, the others often said, were the most expressive part of the child...but he now kept his gaze carefully downcast, heavily lidded eyes with long, gently curving lashes brushing lightly against the porcelain skin of his cheeks...

The tournament...

Just how brave, how strong that Kun' Kumo Kana was...how so he fought, engaged the samurai in combat...

What...what if...?

San had praised that his chakra was strong...

But what if he wasn't strong enough to overcome the trails of a shinobi life...?

It both gave him a strange kind of elation - knowing that there's a very slim but very possible chance - the stories and legends of the shinobi world and of that island village that oft formed the mythical cornerstone of his fantasies...

A strange world.

But a world filled with many things...

With much to learn, with much to explore...

...but...would he be able to...will he be able to fit into that world...?

The teen lying on the bed had awakened, stirring weakly...

But alive.

And this time when Yuurin settled his gaze on a Shimagakurian, a different one certainly but...the darkly emerald-gold gaze expressed something else...

He didn't see an injured man lying there.

He saw someone to admire...someone to respect...

He did not speak any of this aloud...he never spoke out of line, that had long become part of him...

But he did offer a shy half-smile this time...not to the Kage no...

If San trusts these people, then he will too...

User ImageAya couldn't look at Shinichi due to the anger welling up inside, but she could look at San. Trying not to glare at the woman due to her upset state, she listened to San's story. Her blue eyes finally turned soft once again as San compared Kana to Ichi. Was Aya to compare herself to San then? Looking at Kana as he slept, Aya could see that he was in pain even in his unconscious state. Moving her now clean hands to brush away the auburn locks of hair, Aya's mind briefly went over the trials ahead of them and hoped that their paths would not stray apart as San's and Ichi's did. "Mm," Aya nodded giving her approval to what San said, eventhough it wasn't needed, the girl just wanted to let San know that she agreed with the woman's word.

As the little boy came in the room, Aya kept her soft look as she was calm now. By the way San hugged the boy close to her, Aya would have thought that he was her son, but he was only someone dear to her. Crouching down beside Kana's bed to be lower than eye level to the boy, Aya extended her hand giving him a warm and friendly smile. "Its nice to meet you, Yuu-kun," the pale blue haired girl said sweetly to the boy. Aya was extremely good with children which was probably another trait she had gained from her mother. Even if she was only sixteen, Aya had a bright maternal instinct that was backed up by her will to protect innocent people. "You're very cute!" she added on with a shrug of her shoulders as she slightly squirmed at just how cute this boy was in all his ornate robes. The Earth Country was truly a rich and decorative place!

Through the corner of her eye, Aya noticed the sudden jerk Kana made on the bed and immediately she turned towards him to grab his twitching fingers. As he began to open his mouth to speak, her loved one tilted his head backwards making those long bangs fall back into place where Aya had just recently brushed them away. The look of pain on his face caused the same amount of pain to Aya's heart. "Kana," she managed to say without a breath as she held his hand tight. Quickly her head snapped around to the empress. "Jotei-sama," the girl said quickly, "do you have any sedatives. Something to ease his pain?" Aya asked as Kana's body strained and then went limp. When he coughed, the girl turned her full attention back to him as he leaned his head forward to look at her and then everyone in the room. His voice was harsh and quiet as he spoke soft words stating he got the Samurai.

Letting go of his hand to cup his face, Aya leaned against the bed to hover her head above Kana's. Gently she tried to get him to relax his body and rest his head on the pillow. "Baka..." she whispered gently placing her forehead against his as tears began to flood her eyes. Gently closing her eyes, her nose caressed his just as tears were pushed away from her blue eyes. The salt water drops rolled quickly from her cheek onto Kana's as she pressed her lips against his. The taste of ash, blood and near death was the taste of this kiss, but what Aya was taking from it was much more. Kana was alive! He was moving, speaking and even smiling. Relief and reassurance that he was still there for her were the feelings that fled over Aya. As she gently pulled her lips away from his, her hand went back in his and held it tightly. "Baka," she said again placing her head on his chest and letting her tears roll down from her cheeks and fall onto the bandages.

Ah...

Realizing that he was being spoken to by the Shimagakurian girl...at first, instinctively, shyly...he had drawn slightly closer to San...

Almost as if hiding...

But then...remembering it was discourteous during introductions not to look at the other person...his gaze for a moment darted upwards...

Their eyes met.

He had not intended that.

A light blush gently rogued his pale cheeks.

"A-ano..."

A soft voice...

The word was almost half-whispered.

A little hesitantly, nervous certainly, but slowly...his own small hand reached for Aya's proffered one...a little step forward... Their fingertips, just very slightly, touched.

"...hello..." He greeted.

Two words.

One that was not really a word...but that had been the most any stranger had been able to get out of him...

She has such...

...pretty blue eyes, like the bright blue of the sky on a clear, sunny day...

He drew back his hand.

And as he watched her, this person called Aya and her injured friend that had saved them...

Maybe...maybe it won't be so bad...

To be with people like them...

Not part of Shimagakure? But... Aya couldn't leave...! Maya faltered slightly, hurt and confused. Aya would be there for them, yes...but not their home...

Was it any different than what Maya did for Baki on a near daily basis..? She was there for him, and for the few that she knew... not for the villagers... Maya had too many things to think about, and -

Kana was awake?

Maya blinked at Kana's statement, paying little attention to the new little boy. If he played with Konpaku, and that much was obvious because when he walked in, Baki smelled it on him, then Baki wouldn't scare him. But Maya untied her hair and let it cover her face, the unscarred side still showing, but only as she gave Kana a dark expression and leaned against the bed he was on. She hissed at him slightly, Baki's low growls backing her threat up. "If you ever make Aya cry again I'll kill you," she whispered fiercely, making sure to keep near Kana's ears so that Aya wouldn't hear her. Tough luck, Aya had great hearing. Hopefully, Baki's throaty growls would cover up her threat though... Almost instantly, her demeanor changed, and she sighed, a soft chuckle in her throat. Her half grin showed the humor she was trying to exhibit.

"The samurai, huh? You got him alright...an' I got the other one with Aya's help. Way to go, hothead," she said, though the tone in her voice was so easily read - she was relieved, but wary. This, after all, was Kun'Kumo Kana, who had never seen her beyond Shuga's eye transplant. Baki, however, held no reserves, and with his forepaws next to Maya's elbows on the table, reached over and covered Kana's face in slimy wet lion drool. His grin was easy to translate, and Maya chuckled, ruffling his mane and leaning against him slightly.

User ImageThe Empress watched as Aya crouched down in front of Yuu, never leaving the Kun 'Kumo's side, but doing well in introducing herself to this precious boy. She looked down at Yuu with a smile, hoping that her reaction to the teen would be a positive one. The subtle pink hue in the pale cheeks gave clue that Yuu wasn't not scared of this girl and by that test alone, San knew that this Tenmoki Aya was of good nature not only to Kana, but to those innocent by standers and strangers. For Yuu to offer his hand to her extended one was a very good sign to San. Slowly, she move her hand to Yuu's back and gave him a gentle rub as silent words of praise. The charming greeting between the two was called to an immediate halt as the Kun 'Kumo lying on the hospital bed began to jolt awake. "Yuu," San said looking down at the boy. "Why don't you offer Kana-san a glass of water?" the woman said to the boy as she noticed the dry and bloody grin Kana had given them. "I'll send Huwei in with some sedatives for you," the Empress said, bowing her head slightly, the ornate beads chiming as she did so.

Turning to the Kage who had stubbornly requested to stay in the room while she discussed Yuu's case with Aya, she only turned to him with a gentle smile. "Since our business is done here, would you mind accompanying me to the interrogation?" San offered the Kage as she moved her way towards the door. Knowing now that Kana was well and that Yuu was in good hands, San needed to tend to the well being of her country and offer her people information to what happened in the arena. Turning back towards those surrounding the bed, San gave one last bow. "Rest well, Kun 'Kumo," she said, giving her best wishes to the young man that saved her tower from falling. Waiting a moment outside the door, San stood still hoping the Kage would take her invitation now. The woman hoped that she had made the correct choice in picking the Uchiha she had never met to find out critical information against their enemy.

If I close my eyes...

Theme Song: Main Theme

He didn't say 'hai' - only a quiet nod to San's request. With feather-light footsteps, the boy gently placed his ball on one of the many chairs in the hospital wing - he would need his hands after all - and, as the bright red ornamental tassle on his hat swung gently to and fro, like a pendulum, he left the room...

Once outside in the halls, Yuu's pace slowed slightly as he carefully considered the best way to obtain water. While there are other sources around the palace, the servants often bring pitchers to the chambers, the most fresh source of water came from the kitchens, where it is daily brought back from the mountain springs...

Now, the medical ward wasn't exactly close to the kitchens.

If he takes the main pathways, he will have to pass through quite a number of lengthy hallways. Which was not good, considering around this time, the Lords and their families would be heading to their evening meal in the Great Hall... So not just the distance, if he is unfortunate enough to be caught in a near unending procession of families proceeding to the dining hall...it might really just take forever and Kana won't get his water and San won't be happy...and...

No no, think positively!

He knew very well there existed other passageways...otherwise, how would the servants be able to get around the palace so quickly...? Thoughtful, Yuu stopped for a short moment, musing over the thought.

Perhaps...

Perhaps he could ask if he may use the servant passageways...

Ah.

A procession of children and ornately garbed women in the direction of the dining hall told him that he should hurry... The Lords would be following soon...so...he ducked behind a pillar, allowing the first procession to pass...before...

It was a good thing that his body was small, for he was able to weave through the following procession of people whom were on their way to the Great Hall without...that...much trouble. The quiet boy had to murmur apologies along the way though - and to his dismay, the procession of Lords came sooner than he expected - one Lord even blocked his way and attempted to lecture him that it wasn't courteous to simply slip through and poor Yuu, half-listening, half wishing (very guiltily) that the good old man would just let him go... And thus the second half of the trip was made with hastily mumbled formalities, many slight nods of the head as substitutes for formal bows...and...

A maid!

Perhaps he could ask her...?

Slightly inclining his head and casting his eyes down, he addressed her very politely: "...gomen nasai...but...ah..." The maid had stopped, giving him a small smile, and asked how she could be of help. Growing increasingly nervous, the next words were mumbled softly as small hands fisted around what of the long, flowing sleeves of his robes they could reach... "...ano...would you......would you please kindly show to me the......most direct passageway to the kitchens...?"

Obtaining Water
Yuu has a dilemma on his hands. The kitchens, where he could get fresh water for Kana, happened to be built not just 'not exactly close' but very far from the medical wards. If he takes the main path, it would take forever to navigate through winding hallways to and back. However, he recalls there are multiple passageways, shortcuts, in which would make the distance covering much easier... He'll just have to convince the servants to tell him...but why are they so unwilling to talk...?

If I close my eyes...
...the path before me lays uncertain...

Theme Song: Main Theme

The maid gave him a funny look.

"If the young master wishes to eat..." She began, hesitantly. "...well...it is mealtime..."

A red exclamation mark seemed to momentarily materialize above poor Yuu's head, flickering for a moment before disappearing as his mind groaned that's not it... But on to more important matters...the lady was leaving...he can't allow that!

"Wait...please..." His soft voice trailed off, as she stopped again. "It is...important..." He didn't say much else, but his eyes begged for her to understand.

Sighing softly, the maid took the child's hand and began leading him away...

"Come now, then...let us follow after the Lords..." A soft pause. "If the young master had forgotten the way to the Great Hall...he could have just said so..."

Follow?

No!

But he wasn't hungry!

...and...he did not forget...

"That is not...I do not-..." He began protesting, and with what little weight he had, Yuu dug his heel solidly into the ground...trying to remain unmoving and immobile but failing as he was taken along anyways...
