Running a hand through her hair, Cassi wondered what to do when Damien suddenly left the room. On the one hand, she was quite eager to leave herself, but on the other Cassi didn't want it to seem as if she were following him, though she was. And it wasn't just that she wanted to leave, but that she wanted to see if maybe something was wrong. Even for a Prince who didn't want to be here, she wondered if maybe he was over reacting just a bit or if there was something that was really bothering him.
Cassi hesitated a moment more, before quietly slipping out of her chair and out of the room, taking the same path Damien had taken to leave. While she didn't know that he went to his room, Cassi was pretty sure that he would have gone to the garden and so she followed that line of thinking and found herself surrounded by beautiful flooms and fragrant smells. She was so caught up in the smells that she failed to notice the other people around her.
Lady Anita felt herself blushing again, before she cleared her throat and looked up as a few of the students left. She wondered if that was okay or if they should try and stop the students so that they could learn what else they needed to know. Hesitating for just a moment, Anita looked at Lady Florizel to see what she would do, before deciding to leave it to her. She was the Head Mistress after all. Glancing at Lord Lawley again, Lady Anita couldn't help the small smile that pushed its way onto her lips. She enjoyed talking to him.

Damien strolled past the flowerbeds at a leisurely pace, feeling himself wind down in the presence of nature. The strong, floral fragrances were starting to hurt his sensitive nose, though. The boy nodded in greeting to a violet-haired prince as he walked past the gazebo, headed for the apple tree on the far side.
Once he was settled under its canopy, he closed his steel-grey eyes and listened. Birds chirped and sang sweet, high tunes, a breath of wind twirled fallen petals and leaves in a graceful dance, bushes and branches rustled softly, and somewhere in the direction of the stables came the sounds of horses. After sitting this way for a few minutes, he slowly lifted his eyelids and took in the sights.
The breeze blew his black hair into his face. He scowled, but did nothing about it - he knew that no matter how he pushed his hair away, the winds would always sweep it back. Deciding against fighting a losing battle, he let his gaze drift over the fresh grass and coloured flowers, his ears tuned to the far away sounds of the stables.
He blinked when Cassi emerged from around the school. What was she doing, following him or something? Stalker, he accused, a wry smile spreading over his mind. Part of him was dreading company, and the other part was apathetic, so he was slightly relieved when the magnificent flowerbeds had distracted her. Subconsciously, he melted further into the shadows, pushing his back against the rough trunk of the tree and hoping it didn't leave scratches - or worse, sap - all over his jacket.

At some point, the students began to filter out and Fuego awoke Machi (who had dozed off in his seat!) and reported that the paper he'd received from one of the servants of the academy was to be his school schedule and room location. It only piqued his interests only slightly as he rubbed his eyes rather annoyed.
"We should go and have your personal effects located to your new room, then we can over look your schedule and..."
And that's when Machi tuned him out, nodding till he felt like he'd nod his head right off his shoulders. Like a lumbering, drowsy bear, he slid out of his seat to follow his servant's back only half aware of everything. In the mean time Fuego was going off on a tangent about how this was going to be a good experience for the future king of the Island Nations, and that he was going to ensure the survival of their kingdom....
Flutter of wings.
The light flapping of wings and color instantly attracted the boy's attention like a moth to the flame and deep blue eyes strayed off to the side. Out the window a small butterfly danced. It's colors were beautiful and seemed to be laughing as the small creature bobbed up and down almost as if beckoning Machi.
Out the open window.
Like a lithe cat Machi slipped away and to the window and with a quick little flip, he was on all fours outside the building. The fluttering bug danced away and Machi felt a little impish streak in him and went after it. He wanted to catch it! As childish as this desire was, there really wasn't anything around catching his interest. And he was much happier out side in the sun, running about! The butterfly always bobbed out of reach but would dip low as if to tease him and the chase would move on.
Machi became more determined trying to leap higher. Out in the all the sun, in the open space, playing to his heart's content, Machi felt as if he were home...So much so, that he was almost tempted to summon the guardian of his island home.
Almost.
Looking up Machi watched the butterfly fly up higher and higher...out of reach...The prince raised a hand to his eyes as the butterfly disappeared into the light of the sun. The smile faded just as a etheral shriek filled the skies. From his back, large firey wings emerged stretching themselves out as if tired of being tucked away for so long. The song of the phoenix was a lonesome one and its desolate cries filled the skies as if saying what Machi refused to give voice too. With only a thought, the boy looked ahead suddenly and the wings of flame disappeared in a mist of shimmering ash.
Another sound.
The sounds of live animals reached his ears and Machi snapped out of his own dreary world of loneliness. He was glad for the distraction, hell he was glad for any distraction. Hoping to find a possible playmate Machi trotted off to another structure, one with the sound of life that could be heard clearly.

Bella was still lying around the bunches of wild flowers that were a bit far away from the gazebo and flower beds, she was in a more wider field, but she could still see the castle. She kind of fell into a deep sleep, but it would not last soon. A beautiful and color winged butterfly landed on her dainty nose as it tickled her senses. She sneezed as she woke up and was surprised that a butterfly was on her face as she sat up as well.
"Ah!...woah...that was...surprising..." She breath out. She brushed out any dirt or anything that might have gotten on her hair. There she sat as she sighed once more, bored out of her mind as her eyes followed to the colorful flowers. Picking some out by the stems and gathering it on her lap, she began to tie each to one another. She was going to make a crown of flowers. She loved making those when she was little, that is when she tried to sneak out of the castle one day, only having an hour until she got caught, but she had successfully made a crown...yet, it was tossed away by her stepmother the queen.
Bella's hands worked skillfully and gracefully at the craft that she was doing while happily humming a melodic tune.

Lady Florizel observed the students leaving. "Remember students, classes willl start tomorrow. Breakfast will be served at 6:00am every day, lunch at 12:30pm, and dinner at 6:30pm. You will have ten minutes to get to each class, taking into account stairs. Homework may or may not be assigned by teachers. Classes end every day at 2:10, so you have free hours from 2:20 to 6:30, and 7:00 to 9:00 to do your homework or to socialize. Students must be in their dormitories by 9:00, and lights must be out by 10:00, allowing you the reccomended 7 and 1/2 hours of sleep." She paused to take a breath. "Please tell any students that you see of the hours I've outlined."
Grace frowned slightly as Damien walked away. "I really don't understand him at all," she confided. "Do you want to go and see what our room looks like? Then we can explore outside or something." It wasn't in Grace's nature to sit still for long. Without waiting for Amira's response the princess hopped up from her chair, her violently scarlet skirts swirling as she did so. She almost tripped on the hem, but quickly steadied herself on the back of her chair. "That schedule is crazy," she added. "Do you realize we have to be awake by at least 5:30? It'll still be dark!"
It seemed luck was on Rylan's side. Coralie would be in his classes. "Sorry Aaric," he said, giving his brother an apologetic look. He laughed as Coralie exclaimed over the food, and decided to eat something himself. It was quite a large selection and he hesitated for a moment. However, he decided on a buttery roll, toast with grape jelly, fruit punch, and lastly an apple tart. Later he began to regret his decision - everything was very sweet. He quickly poured himself a glass of water and sipped at it. He wasn't overly concerned by the schedule - it must be much worse for an actual ruler of a country.
Lord Taite glanced at Lord Lawley. "Should we go after the princess or wait for lessons tomorrow? I'll see her in looking glass class so I may ask her about it then. But then again, her roomate may not appreciate having a spider in their room..." What do you suggest?"

Lord Lawley looked up from Lady Anita when Lord Taite addressed him. "I suppose we had better go now," he said, sounding suddenly tired. "I doubt her roommate will be happy with the creature. She's in the Rose room, if I'm not mistaken." He pulled his chair out from the table with a sigh. "Come on, before the princess can wreck more havoc on the academy." He left his breakfast, unfinished, on his plate, and a servant came by quickly to clear it up.
Aaric shrugged. "You can have this one, Rylan," he said slyly, although he was sure Coralie couldn't hear him. "Well, this schedule looks simple enough in any case." There was a hint of sarcasm in his voice, but he knew he could handle the schedule. The only problem was going to sleep so early, and waking up so early. "What are they going to do, check our rooms every night to see if we're asleep?" Aaric shook his head, a chuckle almost passing his lips.
"Neither do I," Amira commented, watching as Cassi followed him out the door. It seemed he already had an admirer. "Of course," she said, taking her bags in her hand, and laughing quietly as her new roommate nearly tripped. The schedule was a little crazy, she thought. But a queen would have to go through much more than that, not to mention that it would change nearly every day. Still, she didn't want to wake up that early either. "I usually sleep in much later than that," she agreed. "I wonder how early the instructors wake up..."

"Alrighty, let's go then!" Lord Taite said, leaping up at once from his seat. Breakfast - or any food for that matter - usually made him feel more energized. The servant took his things away and he nodded at her. "The rose room?" he repeated. The two lords exited the dining room and took the West stairway, the quickest route to the Rose room. Once they got there Lord Taite smoothed his hair and outfit, and then rapped lightly on the door.
Rylan shook his head, though not in disagreement, amused by his brother's words. He seriously hoped Coralie hadn't heard Aaric's little comment. Rylan shrugged. "Either they'll check on us or they'll have some sort of enchantment or lock that keeps us from leaving our rooms beyond a certain hour. Personally, I'm hoping for the first. I'm not comfortable with the idea of being trapped in my dormitory."
"Me too," Grace said. "I wake up around 9:30am at the earliest. This is going to be a pain. I bet the teachers wake up around the same time as we do. They can always prepare the afternoon before classes." The two girls exited the dining hall, and headed up the east stairway as it was closest. When they reached the fourth floor Grace noticed two of the teachers from earlier. "I bet they're talking to that girl from earlier - the one with the spider. I hope she doesn't let it loose on this floor..."

"Now go and be back tomorrow." With that said, the stallion disappeared, freed from his halter. Lady Maybelline walked swiftly over to Bella, having no trouble walking across the grass. "Princess, shouldn't you be looking over your schedule," she asked, her voice smooth and beautiful. The sun made Maybelline's hair glow, the blonde strands catching the light in the oddest of ways.
As the students went their seperate ways, Lady Josephine stood up. The creme-colored material of the dress, fell down her legs as she stood, following her every step with a light swish. Her heels clicked on the floor as she walked back to the music room, up the stairs to the third floor. She made the sharp right turn, seeing as she had come up the West stairs, and the door to the music/dance room appeared. She stepped inside, happy to see her grand piano still open.
His shoulders dropped at the sight of Dance as his first class. Of course Maxwell showed quite a talent in Dance, it was the last place he ever wanted to be. He was more comfortable holding a sword, or riding a horse. Not sweeping a princess across the floor.

Lord Lawley nodded, following Lord Taite up the hallway. He had no idea where he got all of his energy from. The lord watched as Lord Taite fixed himself up and knocked on the door. Even for the students, he had to look perfect at every moment. As if that was hard, Lawley thought sarcastically. He rumpled his hair in an attempt to make it look better as he waited for the student to open the door. Across the hall, he saw two princesses looking at the two of them. He smiled and gave them a small wave before turning back to the door.
"Oh, that would be horrible," Amira concurred, watching as one of the teachers rapped on the Rose door. She was a little taken aback as the slightly taller one gave them a wave, but she bowed accordingly, though she doubted that she saw. "I wonder what they'll make her do with it," she commented, walking along to her room again. "They can't seriously let her keep it, can they?"
Aaric grinned, seeing that Rylan didn't want Coralie to hear. "Ugh, that'd be wretched," he agreed with his brother before eating another slice of his orange. The aroma circled around him, and Aaric happily drank it in. "Then I wouldn't be able to sneak out during the night, either," he said, only half-joking. There were a lot of things that one could do at night that they couldn't during the day. As long as there wasn't an enchantment. He wasn't sure he could break one. Rylan might be able to figure it out, though.
Lady Taite bowed to the headmistress before making her way to the exit of the dining room, watching as all of the students began to leave and explore the castle. They were like little children, she thought, amused. She followed a ways behind Lady Josephine, but not enough for her to hear. Lady Taite wasn't in the mood for socializing at the moment. Besides, she had work to do. She turned as she came to the third floor and made her way to the Sewing classroom. Lady Taite couldn't believe she had gotten landed with the job, but she did have some setting up to do for the students before they came in the next day.

Coralie heard the slight laughs of the brothers as she took her food and a faint pink stained her cheeks. Being laughed at again, Cory? she heard her mocking inner voice say. She smiled slightly and in her mind, she shook her head. No matter. They weren't making fun of her, and their laughter was perfectly harmless.
As she willed the blush away, the Headmistress caught her attention and she looked up. The news about the schedules surprised her - she hadn't thought that they'd be given so little time to themselves. It would be difficult, for her particularly, as she was used to waking up late. Her fussy family had always insisted that she stay in bed for as long as she felt she needed to, as if that was the cure for her condition. "Oh, well," she sighed and smiled resignedly, taking a sip of water.
Her throat was tickling again. She turned away and coughed as quietly as she could, taking a couple of deep breaths after she was done help herself feel better. As she turned back, she caught the last of the twins' conversation. "Enchantments?" she asked, slight disappointment seeping into her tone. "I hope not." Nature was most beautiful in the night, under the ethereal glow of the moon and the stars. Even a well-behaved and proper girl such as herself would willingly break a few rules in order to savour the serenity and peace of the gardens at night.

Lord Taite turned to see what Lord Lawley was looking at, and saw two princesses headed toward their room. It seemed most of the students had left the dining room. He turned back to the door and knocked again. "I wonder if she's in here?" he wondered aloud. "She could be in the parlor or outside you know."
Grace smiled as Lord Lawley and Lord Taite looked over. They seemed nice enough, though she wouldn't have Lord Lawley for any of her classes. She and Amira turned down the hall and opened the door to their room. Inside was an explosion of lavender. The four-poster beds had a white frame and were covered in lilac sheets and white pillows. The walls were lilac. There was a lilac rug on the marble floor so that their feet wouldn't be cold in the morning. The curtains on the window were lilac. There was also a picture of a unicorn and its foal in a dark violet night hanging between their beds. "Wow, when they said Lilac room, they really meant it... Guess we'll never get lost anyway."
"Only one way to find out," Rylan said, glancing around to see if anyone was listening. "We should all attempt to sneak out tonight and meet by the bridge. You know the one. Over the pond on the way in." He looked at Coralie. "Unless you're uncomfortable about the idea." He had no idea if she would worry about breaking the rules or if she would want to get a good night's sleep. Usually he abided by the rules, but this would be an adventure of a sort.
Lady Florizel stood after she had finished her meal. She saw no reason to idle about, so she headed to the Frog identification classroom. It was going to be a simple enough procedure the following morning. The girls would attempt to find a prince among the frogs, and most or all of them would fail. Then they would return to the classroom, and she would show them the distinction. She checked her charts to make sure they were all there. Attributes of a prince, attributes of a frog prince, and the average frog. Everything seemed to be in order.

Lord Lawley nodded in agreement. "True. I saw her leave the room, but she could've gone elsewhere as well. Perhaps we could wait for her roommate to come up, or talk to her through the door?" he suggested. "She may just be avoiding answering because she knows we're here to take her... pet away from her." He sighed and leaned up against the wall next to the rose room, fingering his clothes with little interest. The princess had better open the door... He just knew that she was in there.
"Wow, that's for sure," Amira said, looking around at the coordinated room. "I wonder if the other rooms are like this." She walked farther into the room, placing her bags onto the four-poster bed farthest from the door. "It's a little... strong, don't you think?" With that, she sat down gingerly onto the bed, finding it soft and fitting for a princess. The room was very strong, actually. Especially since... well... it was a color scheme of merely white and lavender. It wasn't exactly a bother to her, but rather a shock.
"Ooh, Rylan," Aaric said. "Daring. I wouldn't expect that from a good-two-shoes like you. No offense. I'm definitely up for it though. I was planning to sneak tonight anyways, if I could. What do you say Cori?" He peeled his orange some more, suddenly even more excited about the school year. Apparently he had made some sort of impact on Rylan during the years they had spent together. This could make the year more interesting. Besides, it would be amusing to him if they were to get caught and pegged as troublemakers for the rest of the year. Rylan certainly wouldn't be happy about it.

As Bella finished tying the last of the flowers, her crown was completed, looking like a colorful and beautiful circlet of different flowers. Soon, she was a bit surprised at the presence of another person as she turned to see that it was one of the teachers as she said something. "Oh!...I already got my schedule early and memorized it...I have Dance, Sewing, Frog ID, Music, Looking Glass...and Rhymes and Riddles..." She listed in her naturally soft voice as she fiddled over her crown of flowers, making it neater.
"Um...do you know what time it is now?" She asked looking up at the very pretty lady.

Coralie's face lit up with a bright smile. "Okay!" she agreed cheerfully. "It sounds like fun!" A slight anxiety twinged in her mind, but she pushed it aside. No, she hadn't broken a rule since she was about six, but she supposed it wouldn't be all that bad. They weren't going to get caught, and if they were, they wouldn't be in big trouble. Right?
Her blue eyes sparkling with anticipation, she let out a slight giggle and took another sip of water. "Does Rylan not usually break rules?" she asked the twins, still smiling. "Neither do I, actually. But I'll bet the gardens are really pretty in the night time."
A dreamy expression came over her face as she imagined it. A smattering of stars and a softly glowing moon decorated the clear, dark sky, its light giving everything a magical radiance. A quiet orchestra of birds and crickets would play in the background of the tranquil silence. There was nothing like the outdoors at night. She wondered briefly if there was a creek nearby, or any source of running water. The trickling of a river was one of her favourite sounds.
She pulled her mind away from her daydream and turned to the twins. As she was about to speak, she let out a sneeze and followed it with a cough. "Remind me to find myself a sweater before I leave," she sighed.
