Haradhel knelt down and picked up the dark-skinned baby that Arwen had left behind, putting him to her shoulder as she stood again.
"And I don't think you've seen Timaeus yet," she smiled. "Year and a half old already, he stays in here with me when Arthael and Halmir are on duty."
She brought him into the dining room with her.
"So ... drinks. What does everyone want?"

"It's really dark in here," Starr commented softly. "I can hardly see the threads, even."
"There are lots of fire threads," Storm pointed out, "we could make a light so that we could see."
"We have been getting a lot better," Starr agreed, "maybe we could ..."
When Lore and Skye entered the dining room, Elnara smiled and beckoned for them to come and sit with her.
"Just water is fine for me, unless you have some wine," she replied to Haradhel's question. "Water for the children, though Celebor and Serenity can have wine if they would like."
"Just water for me," Serenity piped up quickly as she also stepped into the dining room. She looked around, her artist's eye already picking out things that she particularly liked about the room. "I'm not fond of wine."
Which begged the question of how she got out of drinking it in the Southland during her year there.
"Wine is fine for me," Celebor agreed. "Red, please."

"No," Lin replied quickly.
She knew the rules and she knew why, and they were still only kids. Besides she knew the sort of accidents that could happen.
"Besides this place is wood if there was an accident that would be really bad," she added, "Miyu, you still have that orb, does it still work?"
Donovan chuckled a bit, so that was what a baby from those two looked like.
"Just water," he replied.

"Mi...." Miyu rummaged around in her bag for the orb, it had been... not really that long right.
She lifted it out of her bag, it wasn't hard to find since the moment she came in contact with it, it began to glow and then finally brighten when she brought it out and to her chest.
Kara's eyes twinkled at the sight of the little boy, "He is adorable," she murmured, she paused for a moment to think about Haradhel's question, "Hmm.... water would be nice."
"I'm fine, thanks," Triton replied, he didn't really need anything at the moment, and Cindy nodded in agreement with Triton.
Tao... did not really understand the parts after 'no Tao', but she understood that term very well. She didn't understand why she couldn't give feathers to the hatchling but she understood and she lowered her head.
"Aww... are you shy?" Feng asked Alyse.

Lore thought about it, he wasn't quite sure what he wanted. After a moment of thought he replied.
"Wine please," he murmured, "White if it's not too much trouble."

Aliya looked down at her daughter and giggled softly. "She's shyer than anyone I know," she told Feng amusedly, still rocking Adonijah, who was whimpering off and on between yawning and sucking on his cheek, his eyes still closed.
She knelt close to Alyse and smiled at her. "This is your Aunt Feng," she told her warmly. "She's Mama's good friend. Say hello."
Alyse looked up at Feng with clear blue eyes, stuck one finger in her mouth, and murmured, "Suilad."

"No trouble at all," Haradhel assured everyone. "We got quite the shipment when Daeron came out here, so we probably have enough for several years, and as you know, the older the better."
She handed Timeaus off to Celebor. "I'll be right back," she smiled, heading toward the kitchen.

"How many years has the ranch been running now?" Elnara asked Donovan curiously as they waited for Haradhel to come back. "I mean, Arwen's got to be ... what, ten? And she's not even the oldest, is she?"
Celebor looked at Timeaus and grinned, setting the boy on the floor and sitting next to him so that he could play with him until Haradhel came back.

Ryu patted Tao on the head, the poor girl didn't know much about babies and she probably wasn't as delicate when she hatched.
"Go, go play," he nodded towards the children she had left behind.
"Hello!" Feng waved again, "She's so sweet."

Donovan thought about it, and thought about it, between the time leaps there had been quite a number of years passed and for him it just blurred all into one huge lump.
"You know... I have no clue," Donovan murmured, "Nearly fifteen years maybe? You're right she's not the oldest, Ahren is."
Lin led the group up the stairs and once they were at the top of the stairs she began to count the doors since that was the only way she could tell who's room it was.

Adan and Adwin both cheered when Ryu directed Tao back to them, and Adan ran forward and draped his arms around Tao's neck.
"Come and play with us," he cooed to her. "I always wanted a griffin for a pet ... are you going to stay with us? Because I would really like it if you can ..."
Aliya smiled down at Adaedhel. "If it's all right with Feng and Kara," she nodded. Then she looked back at Feng. "If she'll let you, can you play with her for a bit?" she requested. "Adonijah needs feeding ... before he starts screaming again."
Indeed, the infant looked as though he were getting ready to do just that: his already wrinkly face was wrinkling even more and his whimpers were getting louder by the second.
Alyse didn't look too certain, though, she was still clinging tightly to Aliya's pants, finger in her mouth, looking up at Feng.

Arwen skipped into the dining room, already finished with her task of taking the bags upstairs, all bright and cheery as usual.
"Hey Donovan," she said brightly, jumping up onto the bench next to him, "are you going to go on a hunt this time? Or are you just visiting like everyone else? Because I think it might be kind of neat if you stayed and visited for once instead of being gone all the time, because you're never really here even though you're here every few years."

"Ahren," Elnara repeated softly. "And how much older than Arwen is he?"
She grew silent as Arwen bounded in and sat next to Donovan, then turned to Lore and sighed.
"It's been way too long since we've been here," she murmured.
"You know where you're going right?" Storm asked Lin softly. "It all looks the same in here ..."
"There's more fire threads coming from under that door there," Starr pointed out, pointing at the door on the right. "Would that mean that there's someone in there?"

"Of course!" Feng smiled brightly, "I would love to play with her for a while," she bent down to be closer to Alyse, "What do you think? Would you like to spend some time with me?"
At least, Feng seemed eager enough to do something like that.
In the mean time Tao bent her head down to nuzzle against Adan, her beak still holding the feather she had been trying to give earlier.
"She can't actually talk," Ryu replied, "But the idea is that she stay here rather than back home."
And just hope she didn't get too lonely in doing so.

Donovan blinked, he had never thought about staying just for the sake of staying.
"That is the plan," he admitted to Arwen, "To on a hunt I mean. You really think it would be neat to have me hanging around here for a few weeks?"
He really had not considered it at all.
"Don't worry," Lin replied absently as she kept count.
She stopped in front of the doors of the two oldest people on the Ranch, "There, Elros is here and Aragost is over there."
With that the girls knocked on the respective doors to see if anyone was in.
