Xyn casually walked by the growing crowd of villagers. He cared little for being rushed out in the middle of the night for some important meeting, but his personal feelings on the matter were irrelevant. Ignoring such a call was beyond disrespectful, so he made no outward signal of discomfort. Still, he kept his distance and waited to see if anything of interest would be said.

His slow steps could only be given away by the crisp, nearly frozen ground, but he was, as usual, barely affected by the cold. He stood as a statue without the ability to shiver. A mission... the injured... had Maya gone on such a... no, he couldn't think about such a thing. His thoughts would be consumed if he let his mind center on the subject. Maya would be fine. She would come back from the mission as she always did. Besides, the time would soon come when he'd be able to do the same, he couldn't be worried about every dangerous situation. What was more interesting was the Uchiha. Had such a person actually been defeated in battle? He never wished ill on the Uchihas, but... he'd liek to meet the type of person that could have defeated the kage...

Upon Shinichi's closing, Xyn made no hesitation in walking away. Caring for the injured was beyond his skill. He had considered learning about medical tasks, but such an interest was fleeting.

Udo spotted the Orochi child instantly, almost smiling as he watched the incident with the snow. Even so...with a small sigh, Udo prepared the same dish he had prepared for Shisei before, only because he wasn't quite up to the task of creating something new after the somber news. Placing it where Shisei would obviously know it was for him, he waited for the boy to come by and asked the first thing that came to mind.

"Where have you been?"

That smell. It was the delicious substance of sweet noodles and broth mixed together in a luscious meal. Just a small with was warming the child’s insides and defrosting the snow from his pale skin. The little nose guided Shisei to the stand of where food was brought. His mind had forgotten about the other two, behind him. Hopefully the Raiken would come. Even if bug boy came, the snake youth felt he could take care of him. Once his stomach was full then they both would be at his mercy.

First thing was first. Food. The boy sat down and placed chopsticks between his fingers. He gave a small ‘Good morning’ before gulping down two mouthfuls of food. The snake boy then heard the man’s question. “Out in the forest of bamboo all night. Some girl kept me there with a game. She and some other person may be coming soon.” pale lips stated with a piece of noodle between them. They then slurped up the food. “Excuse me…” Shisei stated, before diving in again.

Udo gave a small smile and lowered his eyes. "Should've been home last night, kiddo. ANBU announced the Kage didn't come back from Orochi country." Taking a sip of his tea, he closed his eyes and then opened them again, studying Shisei. Sachiriku and Seshiro hadn't returned...had been labeled traitors. Shisei was the last Orochi left on Shimagakure, and judging by the murderous looks on some of the faces of the villagers, they weren't happy about losing their kage at all in the Rice Country. For the kid's sake, he hoped they wouldn't take anything out on him. Udo himself didn't actually care - there were always casualties, and not everyone could be associated with the rest of his or her clan. Even so...almost awkwardly, Udo, quite out of character, reached out and ruffled Shisei's dreads ever so slightly, walking towards the other side of the small stall-shop to wash his cup.

Fingers heavily ruffled through the snake youth’s violet dreads. His throat instantly let out a small hiss to make sure the elder man knew not to let such actions continue. The boy stopped eating for a second and warily eyed the man. It was as if something changed. He said the Kage had not returned. Kage. Kage. Shisei was not sure of what the word meant. It had to be someone important though.

“Kage? Is the Kage leader of something? Why didn’t he return?”

Then a little thought hit the snake child. The Tenmoki family were on that mission. Yes. It had been about three days. They should have returned by now. The serpent youth hadn’t been back to the household for a while. So they probably returned home by now. Then the afterthought from before returned. If they returned. Ivory lips had to ask the question.

“Exactly who returned from that mission then? What occurred in the Orochi Village?”

Shisei forgot about the cold and his hunger. That all became secondary to finding his answer.

Serena fell behind a little, but eventually found the smell of the ramen shop rather near. It smelled so mouthwatering at the moment. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw the Orochi already seated and eating, talking to someone else. She sat down next to him without looking and ordered herself a bowl of ramen. "Thank you.." The Raiken said quickly as she snapped open the wooden chopsticks and began eating as quickly as possible, but trying not to choke herself. It was so warm and delicious. She grabbed a napkin and wiped some of the soup that had spilled out in her hurry for the food and glanced at the Orochi. He was waiting for some sort of answer..what was it? She looked back down and waited to see what was going to happen.

[[ Udon shop, Sun...and Udo would be happy to take your order. Please refrain from acting out his actions, even if he is an NPC ]]

Udo eyed the girl with a bit of annoyance - she had reached over the counter for her own bowl of udon, and was swallowing it down despite its heat. Turning back to Shisei, he gave a small twitch of his lips - a smile? Sighing, he answered the question.

"Uchiha Ichi was the kage - he's what the villagers call the 'chief' of sorts. He was turned to stone by the Orochi warriors - as for who returned, everyone save Ichi, Akuyiro the pirate, Seshiro Orochi and Sachiriku Orochi. The latter three have been branded traitors - the ANBU says they're to be killed if seen." Udo shuddered, and shook his head. "I'll stick to makin' udon, thanks. I'm getting old." Sure, Udo was only in his mid twenties, but that was old to a man who'd spent most of his life running a small udon shop.

It couldn’t be. Just could not possibly be true. Shisei’s fingers had released their hold upon the chopsticks and let them drop into the morning soup. The gold eyes had open wider than usual. Everything around Shisei did not matter. Not the udon man, not sparkle, nor insect boy if he even was around. The only thing that was apparent to maverick snake was the most likely possibility that occurred on the island. The Orochi village was no more. Deep down, within the venomous heart, the Orochi heir had a feeling this would have been the outcome. “In the end… I did end up alone.” the stated his thoughts aloud to himself. It would have either been that or the cheery family would not have returned. Although the snake child did not know which result he would have preferred.

There was also the fact that the only other Orochis became traitors. Did they have a change of heart at the last moment in the mission? Could the two have had some other plan before hand? If so… then why didn’t they take him along… There were too many questions to ask. Too many things unanswered. The viper had no care about this village leader, Ichi. His main concern was the village and the two missing kinsmen. The only one who could probably give an explanation was Ms. Yuki. Yet where was she? The teacher did not seek him out once returned? Then again Shisei had not been back to the household since yesterday morning. He also left no details of where he was going. The woman may be at home. That would be the snake’s next destination. Unfortunately that meant this was the end of the game between him and sly smile. Just when he was about to win.

“Excuse me. I need to confirm something, so our game ends here. Even though I would have won… you are ahead and have already guessed the letters. My name is Orochi Shisei. Next time we meet, allow me to know your name. Now excuse me. I must depart.”, the snake youth stated. His form left the bowl of udon there. His step moving with the same grace with just a little more speed. Before leaving he had one last thing to say to sparkles. “You should learn to write letters. You never know when a day might come when your family won’t be able to read them. Besides, it’s embarrassing to submit to someone who doesn’t know how to write one.”. With that faint whisper into the air the dread head left. His premonition did come true. Maybe he was the sole Orochi left.

Kiba wandered casually into the village. He felt fully revitalized by the night's sleep and was ready to see what was going on about the village. The dark eyed Raiken wondered when the next Academy day would start. Some how or other he had lost all concept of time and had nearly forgotten that his age had just recently advanced another year. As the young Raiken's mind wondered freely he remembered that he had begun training for the henge no justsu, but still needed to finish it. Oh well, for the time being he could still fall back on the tried and true sword training he adored so much.

Shikai had made his way throught the forest, and into the village. It wasn't familiar to him in the cold night, so it took sometime's to reach the ramen shop. Reaching there, he heard the whole of the conversation, and the last advice that snake boy tell to the Raiken girl. Understanding some part's of the conversation, he already guessed that the Orichi village might be destroyed or worst, all of their people slaugthered. Suddenly, he felt petty and he felt understanding too. If he died, their be no more Aburame...well no more the new evolution of it. If he also died, their will be no more Kikai bugs...at least, they where legendary after all. Some wierd feeling told him to confort snake boy, but he was best left alone, until better new would come...if they ever did.

After thinking for a split second, he decided to add something before the snake boy lefted.

''Whatever happen, don't get your feeling distracting you. Well, I presume you already know that''

Then, Shikai decided to sit next to the Raiken girl...he wanted to know her better, so he decided to introduce himself...something he rarely did.

''My name, is Shikai Aburame. I presume your part of the Raiken clan? Glad to have met you, I needed compagny.''

Then he went silent again, trying to get warmer, since he could have catched a cold. Winter was here at last...the least loved season of the Aburame...well, it would mean less outside work and more writing, classification and such. Boring work most of the time.

Shinichi stared back into Baki's ochre eyes, exhausted, yet refusing to back down from his order. He had the facts and the man'd be damned if he let nothing more than one little girl and her beast's emotions get in the way. Regardless, Shinichi bit down on the fiery counter he wanted to spew in her face and nodded, acknowledging that he'd heard the girl's point, not that it made any difference. Maya would have made a great addition to his team, but he would not risk failing the mission because she was uninformed and too stubborn to see the truth. Sachiriku and his brother played Shimagakure for a fool. That was what happened and nothing anybody believed could change that. Shinichi stood to head out for the night, but not before spotting the hated black dreadlocks on a young boy in the crowd. The kid seemed too calm for the situation, most likely shocked. Strangely, he found himself not furious at the child, but pitying the boy. He knew what it was like to lose a loved one. Shinichi turned from the scene, slowly walking away. His steps were more akin with a lost wanderer than a proud Kage, as Shinichi slowly drifted to the place he'd been avoiding since he stepped on the island.

{Whoops, I'm so sorry Maya! I wasn't thinking~I'll make sure not to make that mistake again!}

Serena leaned in to hear what man, was it Udo?, was talking about. Her eyes locked onto her bowl of udon as she heard what had happened. The kage...had been turned to stone...to stone..it echoed in her head like a record. There were multiple emotions scrolling across her face as she tried to find the right one--shocked, angered, saddened...The Raiken only broke from her thoughts to glare slightly at the Orochi who left. His name is Orochi Shisei...she would have to keep that in mind, but not now. Confusion crept over her face as she tried to remember what she had been doing just now. eating udon..without asking. "oops..I'm sorry, I didn't ask... She put her hands in her lap, somewhat embarrassed and then turned to listen to the other boy speak. "Oh, um, hi~Its nice to meet you Shikai. You're right, I'm from the Raiken clan. Serena Raiken to be exact. Glad to be company for you.." She smiled at him a calm smile all the while the words echoed through the back of her head. 'turned to stone..turned to stone..the kage..stone..gone'

Udo caught the girl's glare after Shisei, and was troubled. He was a little shocked that this girl, after having seemed to have spent the whole night with the boy, seemed to forget all that and automatically assume the worst. Or was he imagining things? Udo touched the girl's hand lightly, and gave her a slight grin.

"Ms. Serena, is it? It's ok...about the udon, I mean. I could have prepared something more to your liking had you asked..." Udo's words faded off towards the end; he was unsure of how to ask the girl what it was she was thinking in regards to the Orochi. So...he didn't ask. He would observe...just like he always did. Perhaps there would be no need to ask her anything, unless something horribly bad happened.

Kage is gone....this is not good...not good at all. I should inform the clan immidiatly. I sure hope no trouble would stire up out of this.

''I'm awfully sorry to leave you alone, Serena. But I'll have to leave soon for clan matter's. The current situation recquire me to warn my clan. I hope that I will see you again...let's make a deal, keep the coat until we meet again. See you next day.''

Shikai said with a half smile. He was worried now. If the deal with the kage was gone with his death...what would happen to all of his big family.
He stand up from his chair, walking slowly and exited the restaurant. Their, he spotted the road that would bring him back home.

Serena smiled at Udo with a small 'thank you' and then turned with a nod to Shikai. "Ok..I guess I'll see you around if you want your coat back.." Her voice trailed off a bit as he walked away. She was cold herself..cold and tired, and devastated by the fact the Kage was gone.."Thank you for the udon, and I'm sorry for being so rude this time.." She waved at the man at the counter and began to walk slowly toward the students' apartments. The Raiken was feeling too sluggish to get anywhere, and she didn't go far until she leaned up against a wall--to tired to see what building it was--and snoozed off, undestracted by the noises that surrounded her.
