((Eh, I was told the aggressor won the roll, I've even lost rolls because of that, was I told wrong or did someone just change the rule without knowing?))
Munin was starting to get born trying to catch this human's attention, but fortunately for him, he saw another opportunity. He tried to give Kane one last hint that he wanted something from the boy. Surely no mere mortal could resist a cute black bird such as Munin, right? Even so, Kane didn't seem to be paying any attention to the raven at all.
Munin let out a very light "coo" once his original target seemed to finish. Xyn had walked away from Serena, so now was the perfect time to strike.
"Wakkaw" Munin let his wings flutter about before taking a long stride and setting off into the air. He circled Serena closely, not showing any intimidation of her. Such a trick would never work on someone Xyn was already acquainted with. But what would work...? Munin landed some distance away and scurried in front of her rather suddenly, tilting his head in curiosity before coming to a stop. Surely a female had something delicious or shiny that he could get from her.

His tail feathers shaking a bit, he suddenly continued his waddle in a perimeter around the girl. Once he had circled behind her, he took the time to fix some of the feathers on his wings. He should have made himself more presentable before approaching her, but it was too late to worry about such a thing now. He let out a few calls, ready to jump out of her sight if she turned, picking two or three loose feathers before going in the opposite direction. He thought about giving Serena one of the feathers, but they were bent and the hairs were ruffled, nowhere near a suitable present. Now that he thought about it, didn't Xyn always talk about giving something in return for receiving something? He always talked about balance... maybe giving a human a small token would increase his chances of getting something in return.

His sights on the entire area, the raven tried finding something he could give Serena. His mind wandered a bit as he saw the other people. The new girl playing with that giant cat, and a boy who just arrived... maybe his tactics would work better against the other girl? If Munin could show how well he could get along with Baki, he could probably impress Orika into giving him an even better present. A bird taming a cat of that size would be quite a spectacle. Munin let out a squawk, shaking his head while turning his attention back to Serena. It was best not to toy with Baki, he didn't know that creature anywhere near enough to draw him into his schemes.

If he ran off to find something to exchange with Serena, Xyn would probably notice and call for him. The raven had to do this discreetly or not at all. He'd simply have to invent a new tactic on the spot. He hurriedly ran at the ball she and Xyn had been playing with and made a seemingly effortless hop onto it. The ball rolled in several different directions, forcing Munin to stretch out his wings to keep him from falling over. He finally lost his battle as gravity took him back to the ground, but he gave the ball a small kick toward the goal as if he were trying to play with the girl. Of course, Munin had even less interest in this game than Xyn, but it seemed like the best way to keep the girl entertained.

The Kage chuckled as he turned to watch Shisei and Maya go at it. Maybe he would challenge one of them to some later event. But, not soccer, no. He could dribble figure eights around them if he tried. Maya might be able to get a shot past him, but she was too dull to see past Shisei's lies, much less his own, not that he was by any means an expert at that field of the ninja arts. Just then Karite and a new boy walked into the area. Shinichi frowned and approached the green-haired boy. "Where were you?" he growled, looking the kid straight in the eyes with a stern expression, "You're supposed to go everywhere Shisei and Orika go. Don't tell me they left you behind... we've been playing soccer for an hour! Consider this your only warning. One more infraction and I'm booting all three of you off the island. You can do whatever you want on the mainland; I don't care, but on this island, you're following my rules. Behave and you'll be rewarded, alright? " Shinichi's gaze drifted to Maya and he shook his head, "Watch your brats better," he ordered, pointing a finger at her, "Use whatever method you want. I trust you." Turning back to Karite, Shinichi's face lightened and he picked up two soccer ball and tossed it roughly at Karite and the orange-eyed boy. "Now, then, you too partner up. We're playing soccer, well, kind of. In case you didn't have this game back in your homeland, I'll explain the rules. One person kicks the ball and tries to get it into the net while the other tries to block the flying ball with their body. Then you switch. Five turns each, go. Oh, right. Any questions, guys?"
The ball whizzed towards her at an alarming speed. Orika didn't even have a chance to cry out before the ball struck her in the chest. She soared backwards and would have gone a great distance had it not been for the safety of the net that flipped the girl on her stomach. The farm girl giggled and bounced the ball off of Baki's back, catching in her dirty paws. She ran to his place while the lion moved towards the net and set the ball on a place that looked like it would keep the sphere from moving too much while she powerhoused it. She scanned the lion, wondering what she should say to the intelligent creature. He seemed to understand everything Maya said so it only made sense that he was listening in to her conversations as well. "Watch out, Baki, this one's gonna fly hard!" Orika screeched as she ran up to the ball and aimed a kick at the center. However, just before her foot actually connected, she slipped on some mud and her foot veered to the right instead of the direction she'd been aiming for. "Woah!" Orika yelped as her body soared forwards, kicking the ball not from leg power, but rather from gravity's pull as she slipped.

Baki pricked his ear, listening more intently now, and eying the ball. Again with his flanks, he butted the ball away from the net, his tail dragging gracefully. He turned his golden gaze momentarily towards Shisei, who was beginning to throw off hostile vibes...ok so more hostile than what seemed usual. Baki growled; he wasn't a very happy brat was he? Shaking out his mane, Baki pricked his ears towards the new body in the training area, curious. He was, after all, a giant cat... however, he had a game to play with Orika, and it was getting to be pretty interesting! The new one was interesting too, but he didn't call Baki's absolute immediate attention - not like this game, where this ball was flying all over the place! Baki wondered how to swat it next, though his last shot had gone pretty well. However, he shook his mane, and reconsidered it. Orika had taken that last ball pretty hard...

Rokugi flinched as this man spoke to him so straight to the point. He had barely noticed the man watching the kids play and now he was being appointed just like that to play against one of the island natives. Rokugi's eyes drifted from the ball to the redhaired man and to the wild looking kid he was supposed to play with. He kept his eyes looking at the man but avoiding his eyes at all cost "Should i kick or defend first?" He wasnt even sure if he was ready to start up like this, no introduction nor anything this place was really a sight.
Walking slowly towards the ball he stepped right at where it was and looked straight at it. He searched for one of the nets that might be unoccupied in ordered to be used. He sighed as he looked back at how the other kids where doing it, remembering how he wasnt that good with physical labor at all. Then again kicking the ball wasnt so hard, he would give it a try atleast just like he had done at convincing the Weapon Giant he had met at the shoreline.
Dropping his bags next to the net where they would probably play it out he took the ball from the floor and slowly walked towards the other kid. Rokugis hands wherent visible under the greatly long white sleeves of his shirt, leaving a long piece of it hanging as he held the ball with both hands. Standing close to the kid he struggled to introduce himself but since the man hadnt even cared he felt he needed to atleast let the other kid know who he was. " Hi...Um...Im Rokugi,nice meeting you." All the time Rokugi's face seemed to stare the floor but you couldnt really tell because of the black slick hair that covered most of his face.

The Raiken watched Xyn slowly walk away from the finished game, and with a sigh, she stopped the ball with her foot. "Oh, it's not problem, Xyn." She rolled the ball back and forth underneath her and kicked it aside. Stupid snake ruined the mood of everything. Oh well, Serena was going to cheer up anyways. Suddenly, a different noise sparked in the air. Something like a bird. The genin turned around to see who or what it was, but nothing seemed to be any different. There was just new caws and squaks. 'Where's that noise coming from?' Serena looked around a few more times until she finally noticed a pretty little black bird settle itself on the ball. "Aw, well look here. Aren't you Munin?" She bent down and smiled, her head tilted sideways a bit. How funny was that? The bird was playing with the ball! She had to admit..these Shima pets were really smart. "Hey, I know. Do you think Xyn would let you have a treat or something?" The Raiken reached into her jacket and pulled out a small piece of a cookie she had.

Xyn made a slight side trip to retrieve his cloak. With all the exercise, he had forgotten it was even cold. He knelt close to the cloak to check for any dirt stains before he picked it up, and as he stood, he heard a strange sound from behind him.
"... Munin." The boy grunted the raven's name, causing the creature to flinch slightly, but not preventing him from taking his well-earned snack. He hopped closer to Serena and gently took the cookie in his mouth, then let out a rather high-pitched, chirp-like cry before flying off. Finishing the portion while still in the air, he landed on Xyn's left shoulder as he always did, sticking close to his skin to stay warm. For only a moment, Xyn allowed a thought to center on Shisei, but since the boy had finally stopped spilling his words around so frivolously, Xyn thought it best to go on about his business.

Maya half smirked at Shinichi's response to discipline as she saw fit...
"I do need a few new skins for the cubs..." she pondered out loud, closing her eyes and letting a small, crooked grin settle on her face. She could hear Xyn, could hear Munin, and knew that the boy and his partner would probably leave soon. Maya took a moment to wonder where - then wondered what Shinichi would have them do next. And then...she sighed, wincing slightly as she wondered what Shuga would have thought of her. She hadn't heard any news from the kage yet...maybe Shuga was coming back soon? But...someone would have said something right..? Shuga would have thwacked her hard on the head for caring, and wrapping Xyn's hand. Survival of the fittest and all that. Gah...Maya knotted her fingers into her hair and hid her face - was she always going to compare herself to her aunt?
She knew the answer was yes...at least, until she was strong enough to be the next taijutsu master...
Baki trotted out towards his next ball, waiting for Orika to take her place in the net before swatting the ball again, this time towards the right side of the net, away from anywhere it would hit her. He felt bad about having inflicted pain on the girl, and he also didn't want to get in trouble. He also didn't want Shinichi to skin him - the thought of the heartless but strong man touching his fur made Baki's mane bristle, and he growled lowly to himself, turning his golden gaze towards Maya and giving a low, amused lion-chuckle at the words she said. Lately the trip had been starting to drag more and more human-words out of his partner, and Baki thought that was a pretty good thing. No one else in the world would really understand the human-lion speech Maya used a lot of the time with him...which was mostly hand signals and soft grunts...he shook his head, turning his attention back to Orika.

"Maya..." Xyn's feet awkwardly approached the girl, not really knowing which direction to go. She he go to her left, or her right? Maybe he should stay behind her and wait for her to turn around...? No, why should she have to move?...
His left hand running soothingly over his eyepatch, he let his hand stray enough to stroke the top of Munin's head before going to Maya's left side. The mere thought of sitting next to her made his heart beat first, and he tried his best just to swallow in order to relieve the tension. He lifted his right hand and took the cloth from it very carefully.
"I... the bleeding already stopped. It wasn't that serious." Xyn mainly averted his eyes, picking a spot an appropriate distance from her, about 6 inches or so, and sitting down slowly.
"I always feel... in debt to you." Xyn turned his eye toward her, although more staring at her and his feet than at her directly, not really avoiding eye contact.
Interesting... Munin leaned forward little by little to try and get a better view of this situation. Xyn was going to talk to that girl again. He could never really figure out what these humans kept saying to each other, not that he really understood any humans. Picking up one or two words every now and then was starting to annoy him. Maybe now would be a good time to learn a new language. But...
Munin wanted to try and see their lips to help figure out their speech. Lips seemed to be far more convenient then a bird's beak, although the raven hated to admit such a thing. You could look at a human's lips and tell what they were saying without hearing. He was sure Xyn had mentioned such a thing. Doing so would make it far easier to learn what words were.

Another powerful kick from Baki and another dive going away from the ball for her! "You're wonderful, Baki, but I'm starting to think we shouldn't play ball anymore..." Orika said sheepishly as she picked up the ball with her foot, kicking it into the net to just once get the feel of success, even as fake as it may be. "You should play with Maya! You two'd be a good match for each other with your earth-shattering kicks!" Orika tossed the ball in the air and headbutted it like she'd seen Baki do. She watched as the ball bounced off the right side of her head and go flying. With a sigh, the girl ran after the ball and retrieved it quickly so she wouldn't keep Baki waiting. She set the ball down on the snow-damp grass and sighed again. That was probably more sighs than she'd ever done in her life, but then again, most things she did weren't this frustrating. "Watch your head!" she called to Baki, then ran up to the ball hard and fast as if she were going to kick high and in the corners. At the last minute, the farm girl veered off course and slammed the ball right down the center. ... Where Baki's big giant maw was waiting to devour the orb. Great, what had she been thinking? Was it time for the next event yet? Orika looked around her for the first time and noticed two things. One, that Xyn was being weird and shy again. She didn't get people who weren't as open as she was. It just seemed like a waste of time. Second, that Karite was finally here after the long wait, but that Ero-sensei was yelling at him for separating from the group. Orika perked up and called to him really, really loudly, "KARITE! HI!"

Baki understood the tone of Orika's words, and felt as guilty as a lion could feel - for an animal that hunted other animals when it was hungry... and now the one that was courting her showed up. It wouldn't do the girl much good if she lost in front of him, and Baki would probably feel worse about it....even though the green-haired devil had a lot of training to do once Maya eventually accepted him into the pride. With a false move, Baki lunged towards the ball, though he let it slip through his legs and hit the net flying. He feigned frustration, rolling onto his back and kicking his legs into the air, an angry look on his face. Baki trotted away from the net, setting up next to his second to last ball, and wondering if he should pull this too...
Naaaaaaaaw....he growled his growl-laugh and shook his mane. He would let Orika score, that he could do - but he wouldn't lower his own score. He had to at least tie Maya. She had gotten all five balls into the net!

Maya had no words. She ducked her head, her face red now. Her overreaction for a wound that had already healed. She growled softly, her face hidden by her arms, before she muttered a reply that could pass as barely decent. "Might've gotten infected," she managed to get out, though Maya had no idea how those things really worked. Really, she had been injured a good deal of her life (small things, bites and stuff from Baki), and none of hers had gotten infected. Sure she had scarred, but who didn't? She closed her eyes and for a moment tried to forget where she was...giving up for a moment, she leaned towards Xyn, her shoulder touching his for a few seconds, before she returned to 'her side' of the small gap between them.
"Y'don't owe me anything, Xyn," she said quietly, shrugging.
Second to last, second to last. Baki decided to be funny this time, and raced towards the ball, spinning at the last second and dropping his tawny butt on one end of the ball. For a moment nothing happened, then the ball squished out from underneath him and flew towards the net at a pretty decent speed. Baki chortled his lion laugh and peered over his shoulder, grinning at Orika. He cracked himself up, that much was certain, though now his rump felt a bit sore...hmm...maybe that hadn't been such a good idea, but hey - it had been fun!
