As expected, Shisei wasn't altogether too pleased at her actions. Not all of them had stout legs and the agility of a fox! Her own body was built for strength and stamina, not speed, so what was wrong in choosing to exemplify those characteristics? They couldn't compare; one of these days she'd challenge him to a battle of wits, something they could both compete in. Orika stood by listening closely to his words to find a flaw and smiled in spite of the burning desire within to give him something to really complain about. "You call me a pig and yet you're so scared that a pig will kill all three of us! If I'm a pig, then you act like a snake." Didn't snakes get eaten by pigs? Yeah! So far, he'd failed to defeat her in combat while she'd taken him out in one blow. There was no competition here, yet Orika felt compelled to know him down from his imaginary pedestal with each insult. "Fine, fine...," she muttered, as she suggested she get someplace safe or risk death. Did the guy want her to survive or not? He was full of mystery. Orika glanced around, not sure where to go. She had to be close enough to hold the pig down while Shisei and Karite finished him off, but far enough so that the pig wouldn't impale her. That was a nasty compromise she had to make! The only place she could see that provided even the least bit of cover was in the trees and they weren't big enough around to hide her and climbing its high, high branches was out of the question. Orika glanced at the receding Shisei, noticing that she could still see him very well. "You're not hidden at all," she complained, "Make like a snake and try flattening your body."

She should probably concentrate on her part. Orika left Shisei alone and placed a dirt-encrusted hand onto the bark of one of the trees, contemplating her situation. A thought popped into the girl's mind that made the hairs on the back of her neck stand up in fury. "This would have been so much easier with weapons!" she hissed to herself, angry that Maya had taken away their shuriken and kunai, then expected them to go hunting for dangerous boars that don't die that easily. Orika tore off a random black petunia and tossed it in the center, hoping that boars ate the flower representing all her anger. She wasn't afraid to let the resentment of both Shisei and Maya show on her face. Feelings were too dangerous bottled up inside. The only friend she had was Karite. Karite... Orika smiled when she conjured up his serene face in her memory. Maybe he had a poem that could express her pent up feelings, the hurt from Shisei's continuous shoot downs and from Maya practically ignoring her, taking favor of her rival instead. And then there was always trouble from being away from home. But, it seemed like Karite could make everything better, even just the thought of him not hating her like everyone else. Orika giggled and set off on her task, reminding herself that she had precious little time before the boars reached them. She tossed one of her crutches into a nearby bush and figured that the other one would be useful to crush the boar's head in. She tested her theory on the tree and found that the aluminum material would probably bend instead of breaking bone. Orika consented to throwing away that one too and as she hopped back to the trap, she spotted the wall of vines and grinned, a bright idea coming to mind. It was too perfect.

Orika dove behind the right side of the triangle and flattened herself against the ground. The motion did nothing in regards to her hygiene, but it did wonders in terms of making sure she stayed hidden. Orika reached for the wooden gate, pulling it close to her body so she could spring and latch it into place when the time came. Then again, it might be difficult for her to get up, much less do it in time to trap a raging wild boar. But, she had to keep the ideas of using the vines as cover. Orika painstakingly got to her feet, then tried crouching instead of laying flat. With all her camouflage, she looked like a growth behind the tree. Ah, that was it. She climbed onto the sturdy vines and sat, hidden by the large enough tree with gate in hand. It was almost too easy to do her part now, with the tangle of vines hiding her presence as just another random clump on top. On the other hand, she could easily spring out and attack the pig with her bare hands. Orika examined every part of her body, making sure it was well hidden within a vine or simply behind branches. When that was done, she replayed their plan in her head and all was well, as long as Shisei didn't do anything stupid and Karite climbed out of the pen in time and she was able to lock the gate before the boar turned around and fled. There were quite a few variables that could go wrong with this hunt and this should have made her worried, but the girl pulsed with adrenaline as she eagerly waited for the green-haired boy to come rushing in, boar hot on his heels. The farm girl tipped her head, searching the trees for Shisei. She frowned when she saw her nemesis still visible and sneered, "You're slower than my grandma! Does little snake wants the boar to eat him? Do us all a favor and just stay where you are!" The bully delivered her lines harshly as she taunted him more and more. Orika figured that Shisei was stubborn enough to do anything to prove her wrong. She was counting on him not listening to her, as usual.

Hopper was correct. The pale child needed a little more cover as to not stand out for his feral victim. Of course Shisei did not need to admit that to her. Instead his head pivoted slightly and his body leaned so he could get a view of the mud covered girl. He let one gold eye fall upon her as she made comments about his uncanny resemblance to the belly crawlers. The serpent youth did not mind complaints as long as she obeyed for now. That would be enough. If Orika’s hatred towards him made her work harder then Shisei did not mind. As long as that energy could be used to succeed then the girl’s lips could cuss him all day. Hatred is such a good motivator. So good that it only takes a minute and a couple of seconds for the hurt youth to gain a good hiding place. She even has enough spirit to spit back virulent words of the boy being slower than her granny. The serpent youth said nothing for now, but would have to remember to one day cut that tongue out of her pretty little mouth, but for now he’d just have to settle for a hiding place that surpassed hers. After all the girl seemed to think she was so much better at concealing herself than him. One of the fortunate things of the weather is that snow blended very easily with Shisei’s skin. His form returned from leaning over and stood up. Above him were a few branches with what felt to be a few pounds of snow and four branches of green brush holding it up. The snake child made a small hop and gripped onto the vines breaking them down. Each branch made a sound similar to ice being crushed until they all fell upon the snake child. The clumps of snow all fell onto the branch and trunk. Hopefully it would look as if the branches broke through natural causes and the snow just slid down to the branch below. Shisei did his best to cover himself with snow. He had slithered out of his vest because when time came to attack the boar, it would probably get messy and bloody. Something he did not want his vest to be stained with. Yes even in this situation the snake child was considering his attire. At times he could be quite vain. Leaves and the brown limbs themselves were also used to cover up the youth. A bushel of leaves was the final mark to be placed on top of his head to cover up the purple dreads. His brain had arranged the wooden debris so his frame could leap from the snow and into action when ready. His peers would just have to hold up their part now. Amber eyes snapped off a piece of a branch looking at the sharpest part of the broken piece. He also would need to be ready.

Karite was making good time now. In his mind the trees and the fowl smell of death was nothing compared to who he was running too. Orika no matter the problem knew just what to say to make him smile. She was a friend he could always count on and that was reason enough to run hard. His numb feet however were not feeling the ground anymore and this lead to his slip up. Running through the forest now at his normal speed his body slipped and slid through every obstacle till he ran past the largest tree in the entire damn forest. The monster of a tree had roots the size of Karite's chest and it showed as Karite's leg was swallowed up to his mid calf. "s**t, I cant believe this. Everything that could go wrong is going wrong." Looking over his shoulder frantically Karite managed to pull his leg out and roll out of the way of a boar which quickly skidded to a halt digging up the earth. Looking at the boy with his beady red eyes Karite knew he was in deep. He only had one shot to make it pass the boar alive. Remembering dodge ball with Jonu-Sensei. He could either run straight at the boar and jump at the last second or jump of the tree and risk a chance of slipping and become boar pizza. "Orika I better get a kiss for this one." Karite spoke to himself eying the now snorting boar.

Kore was moving a just pace but couldn't pick up the speed because of his shoulder. The boar was back on his tail and this was not helping that their was a rather large hump in his way. There was no way that with the shoulder he would make it up the hill, lucky there seemed to be some kind of hole, no clue where it lead but it was the only option the cub had. Running straight for the hole he squeezed his body as tightly as he could through the hole which widened once inside. Moving quickly as to hopefully lose the animal he noticed it went straight through. Which meant he had to hurry or be trapped. Picking up speed he ran as fast as he could ignoring everything around him. Making it through was his only purpose. Pushing through the entrance again the lion was on the run again but with a friend still following close as a strong thump followed the ribs exit. The chase was on and still going strong.

The snowball branch veil was a cool idea. Perhaps a little too cool. Shisei didn’t calculate ahead of the snow that would slip past his clothing and reach his body. The white puffs of icy water had gotten down his color and were making a new home around his frame. Other of the puffs had entered his ears and nose. This began to make the youth more nippy than usual. The serpent youth only found this a hindrance and instead of finding a new secure location he would bare it for now. After all, it should only be a few minutes before Karite and two dangerous sides of ham come crashing through. In the mean time his attention could focus on sharpening the piece of branch he had broken off. Taking a small, but jagged stone that also fell with the tree limbs the snake kid began to try his best to sharpen the stick. It wouldn’t be the best done job, but work with what you got. As white hands used to stone to scrape away bark to make the limb into a small wooden weapon his maverick ignored the snow that slid down from the back of his neck down his spine.

The tiny sound similar to scratching a wall was lightly emanating from the hideout of snow and leaves. Shisei kept trying to put the chilly tingling in his spine out of his head by focusing on other things. The cold slush had made its way down the front of his neck and trickled down the pale chest. He kept his breathing stable and the gold orbs just stared at the stick as its form became closer to that of a stake with a leafy end. To take his mind off of the cool puffs the snake youth began to consider this situation with other students. If he had to be stuck with other peers would it be anymore easier or just as annoying and unbearable. Sly smile could have been a worse choice since she seems to be elusive and while not physically rebellious, there is no doubt there would be a mental battle. The white haired boy with the kunai in his pants could go either way. Shisei was unsure of him. Then there was the other muscular female, Izumi the serpent youth believed. The girl seemed kind enough, but there would definitely be unwanted attention because of her dress code. The stick, the scarab and the imp were out of the question. All three would be intolerable although it may be nice to keep around the imp. Friends close and enemies closer. Since Shisei had no friends it best then to keep his adversaries in sight. The violet headed loner than began to consider leaving Orika around him. Little serpent had been watching most of his peers thus far and while many of yet done anything to reflect positive or negative against them in terms of skill. Yet two had proven themselves to be troublesome for the future. The Kun Kumo trash, and the plain farm girl have sadly left a bitter taste in Shisei’s mouth. Yet Tanu-kun had seemed to disappeared. Or maybe she was slacking off somewhere. Or maybe she was dead? “Heh. Perhaps Orika killed it…” the dread hair thought. Which ever of those hypotheses were correct did not matter. If the green, crimson eye was gone then that was one less person to worry about. The major concern would be the other left. The snake continued to sharpen his weapon.

As the cold wrapped its icy tendrils around her soaking body, the girl realized she had to discard her coat or freeze to death. Since the camouflage, both by smell and appearance was on her outer layer, Orika was hesitant to dispose of so much effort at a whim. The option left was to act like a real ninja and bravely tolerate the cold until they finished and she could build a small fire to dry herself off. The girl sighed and shifted position, gritting her teeth as a pile of snow landed on her shoulders. Why hadn't she the sense to choose a waterproof jacket, instead of something nice and soft? Was it because she was nice and soft? Orika stared at the tree, trying her best not to shiver in the freezing atmosphere, wondering what Shisei was thinking at the moment. Was he like her, heart pounding at 1000 kilometres per second, so eagerly awaiting Karite's return? Or was he completely calm and apathetic, not caring whether they get the boar or not? It was always hard to tell with that boy and not knowing irritated the girl like no other. She had to push and pull until some emotion came out of that little brat's face. Doing so would satisfy her wild spirit, one that sought to dominate others by forcing their weaknesses into sunlight. Like others, she too had a dark, manipulative side and who better to bring it out than the village's enemy number one? A gust of wind fell from the sky, making the girl want to shiver and shake, but she resisted the urge to move. Doing so would hurt her leg and besides, in this freezing whether, her joints were too numb and movement would be painful. The only thing in motion were her teeth, which chattered so loudly she feared Shisei would hear, and that fear caused the girl to shut her piehole before her enemy found out she was weaker than he. After all, she didn't hear him chattering in the cold!

She remembered a trick one of the fishermen was bragging about a while back. If they were drenching wet and without a source to dry themselves with, they would summon a sort of fire inside of them. They were all tough guys, afraid to let anyone else see they were cold so they shivered, but on the inside rather than on the surface of their skin. Orika tried to replicate the theory, manipulating her body to sent wave after wave of heat to her skin. She trembled inside and if anyone were to look closely, her fingers showed the slightest movement, but beyond that, there was nothing. And yet she was warmer, at least for a little while. The farm girl let out the breath she'd been holding and wrapped her frozen, frosty fingers around an ice-covered vine. Oh, no. What if the ice weakened the vine and let the boar escape? There was nothing she could do, regardless, but hope and stay alive until Karite came. Her breath showed as mist in the nippy air; The girl blew the steam into her fingers in order to let them feel. She still had a vital role in the operation of the trap, then in the taking down of the boar. Orika ran her hands down her side, feeling the slightest indent signaling possible curve growth in later years and groaned. She was going to get fat and turn into a real woman! Aw... no fun and no muscles! The spirits whipped a branch into her face, but Orika caught the tree finger before it struck her, then snapped it in half. She had to stay strong, no matter what her body demanded she do. A real ninja endured through the toughest weather without batting an eyelash. A real ninja never complained. But it was so cold, with winter's feeble rays barely reaching over the horizon, leaving the unforgiving sky bathed in a sour pink. She supposed now that the old question was correct in all ways. How can you expect a man who's warm to understand a man who's cold? She could describe her state with the same adjectives over and over again, but no word could possibly describe just how darn cold it was!

She tried the fisherman's trick again, but even her fire had been numbed by the increasingly harsh wind. The girl couldn't be helped by that trick now, but maybe Shisei could use a hand? If he didn't take her advice, he'd freeze and if he did, the purple serpent would owe her. "Hey dread-head," Orika whispered, trying to go above her chattering teeth, but not so much they'd be in danger, "I think you should expand the fire inside yourself. I don't know how to explain it, but... well, just contract and expand your muscles repeatedly. You'll feel a lot warmer." It wasn't shivering exactly, but a more refined form. Orika spent so much thought trying to explain the mysterious process to Shisei that she didn't concentrate on her own warmth and visibly shivered in the dim forest lighting. From above, an icicle tore itself from its overhanging branch and crashed onto a spot not five centimetres from her hand. Orika gulped, deciding for now that she would hate the cold forever. She was way more of a summer person anyway!

Good thing her skin was now so numb that waiting out in this freezing cold weather for a little bit longer no longer seemed like a chore. She had gotten to the point where more cold meant warm, not cold. It was confusing, but that was how she felt. To relax her nerves while she waited for Karite to come back, Orika played with the vines attaching the gate together, tightening some loose ends with her barely mobile fingers. It was getting so hard to stay still, but she must not mess up this hunt! Orika instead pretended she was an explorer, riding on a polar bear and hunting for the evil penguins that threatened to destroy the ice using heat eye beams. Zap! Blamo! The image brought a smile to the girl's lips and she giggled softly to herself, so soft that even the deft Shisei wouldn't be able to hear. It was always good to have fun instead of doing what he was probably doing and thinking of ways to further destroy the world.

Shisei scoffed at the comment from his peer on the ground below. “What do you want mud face?” his voice whispered back in a barking tone. He did not have to wait long, as Orika began to explain some sort of process. It mostly sounded like gibberish to the snake boy, but he decided to try it as best he could. Expand fire inside of himself? What was she talking about? He had the mind to make some other snide comment, but the farm child may just run out into the open or give away her location to the boar. His muscles would try this technique. The snake youth made no other replies, but began the process. His body slowly breathed heavily trying to ‘expand this fire’. At the same time his fingers continued to sharpen the stake to prepare to take down a boar. His mind began to focus on where to puncture the beast. He’d need to aim some place soft. The neck would be efficient and hopefully bring the boar down to a quick end. The acceleration from the height of his fall and his own strength would hopefully be enough to kill the pig. If not Shisei could always aim for the eyes. That would not kill the beast but it would definitely cripple its overall performance. His mind began considering the other movements the creature might make as his body began to feel a little warmer. The child had forgotten about the snow down his skeleton or the small spider on his head. The only left was for Karite to bring the ham. “Where is he…” the shinobi in training whispered aloud. Maybe the girl had better instinct into what the reaper was up to.

Karite was almost there. He could see his footprints from where he was pacing back forth reciting lines of poetry in his mind. He was almost there back with Orika. If he could just manage to push himself he could make it through the trap and onto a tree but he would have to push his body hard. Looking over his shoulder he heard the boar running harder. That was a good thing, that dumb animal had no clue what was on the horizon. Karite moved and he moved fast trying to look at the vines that were the guts of this trap by Orika. He could jump through but grabbing onto that tree wasn't going to help his wounds any. If he got to eat then maybe it would be a better day. Moving low to the ground to pick up speed he noticed Kore was realigning next to him. That was good, when the time came it would take the both of them to make it through and it was coming on them quickly. Looking forward Karite saw the trap. Picking up Kore he made one jump but instead of his plan to go through he grabbed the nearest branch with his right arm. As he looked forward to Boars now passed him running straight for their death. "Guys I am here with a side of bacon."

Kore was against the grind now he could smell the snake and the farm girl which meant he was close. Now was his only chance to get to Karite and bring down both of these boars. Kore moved over closer to his partner and friend running along side him. For a second his gold eyes locked with the Reapers silver eyes. Kore knew they were going to make and he
was more calmed but he didn't stop running until he was lifted from the ground and all he could see was the ground below him. He was in the Karite's arms hanging from a tree but looking at his grip is was not getting any stronger. His injures had down its damage just like his shoulder. They were alive for how much longer was unknown.

It took everything the girl had not to cry out in joy as Karite returned, safe and leading not one, but two hoggies. Waitjustonesecond... TWO?! Crap on a stick! She had to come up with a new plan that wouldn't get herself killed. But for now, her task was simple. Orika stealthily crept over to where the entrance was and slammed the gate in, locking it in place by tying the vines in the appropriate places. She tested the wooden structure and found it secure. Orika stood on top of the gate, shaded by the mass of messy vines and carefully watched the pigs to see if they had detected her. So far so good. She crouched and waited until the larger of the two, squealing and desperate to escape, wandered over close to where she was and sprung onto its back, quickly wrapping her arms around its belly. "Aaaaah!" Orika squealed like a pig as the boar thrashed about, trying to throw her off its back. "Karite, DO SOMETHING!" she screamed, hanging on for dear life and trying her best to avoid its tusks. It was lucky that the pig's neck couldn't turn around to stab her. Orika dug her heels into the swampy ground and flipped the pig onto its back with her on the bottom. The movement knocked the girl's wind out, but she refused to let go as it flailed in the mud. Orika wrapped her limbs around the pig's limbs, spreading them apart and exposing the soft belly where Karite and Shisei could make their attack. A snorting to her left left the girl's russet eyes wide open as she noticed the other pig rearing its head, looking like it was going to charge her. The girl panicked, but then wrenched her pig over as a shield between her and the other boar. "Come on, piggy, piggy, piggy!" she yelled, taunting its might.

Karite noticed Orika was well enough to jump in the pin with two very angry boars. She seemed to be stronger then usual tossing around one of the boars like rag dolls in the sandbox. She took down one of the boars with no problem at all. Yet the other was coming quick and as she called out to him for help he knew that Shisei was not strong enough to handle the other boar, but he was quick enough to kill them with help. Karite knew he would have to find a way to handle the next boar if there was any hope for Shisei. Dropping from the tree branch, the wing shaking his earring he landed hard making sure to absorb much of the impact as to not hurt Kore and sitting down the cub, Karite wasted no time in hopping into the pin with Orika. Looking at her he knew in order for her to have the best chance for survival he would have to take care of the other angry slab of bacon. Running full force at the ragging steak. Karite tried his best to slid to the side of the beast, the ground being a little slicker then he had hoped caused him to miss his entry and for the Boar to redirect itself. Karite had missed his shot, but he was not done fighting. He couldn't call on Kore due to the cubs injury and the size of these beast. The only option left was to grab a hold of the boar and try and cut of the air supply now. Karite managed to get a hand on the boar but the damn thing was bucking like waves at sea. "Shisei!!!! I need some help done here. Hurry the hell up and get your a** in gear!" Karite knew which hand he had reached out with and knew now it was a mistake. "Orika, just hold on, this will be over in no time...I hope."
