It's true- so many characters in Final Fantasy have really weird names. Some of them make you sit and think "How on earth did they come up with that?".
Some of my particular favourites are Cecil (FFIV) and Ingus (FFIII DS). Honestly, these guys are supposed to be heroes. Also, the name Garland. It's just not evil, at all.

it's a cool name, but have any of you noticed that they use the name 'cid' in every single game? dunno, it's pretty freakin' sweet.....umm....i know all of you are going to hate me, but i thought cloud's name is kinda funny. y'know...i mean it's 'cloud'. it's a bit funny, isn't it? sweatdrop

There was a side-quest in FFXII, and I think the guys' name was Balzac xd .

I love FF6 but yeah, Gau and Strago and the town name Zozo. It's fun to say weirdly. I also laughed at beret in ff7. I mean come on. A big strong black guy with a gun in his arm, named after a silly little hat. Almost all the names are silly in FF when you think about it, at least every one of them has some kind of strange name that makes you go "w..t..f...mate?"
