Ohhhmygosh, the scariest thing happened to me tonight! (Except I'm probably the only one who would think this is scary... .___. ) I was trying to partition my computer into two hard disks (I have an Intel Mac, so it can run Windows if I partition it) and my computer crashed in the middle, so I lost 15 GB, and I didn't have a lot to start with. That was about a quarter of the space my computer came with. It was like it chopped 15 GB out of my hard drive to use for WIndows, but stopped in the middle, so I had 15 GB that, according to my computer, didn't exist, and that I couldn't access or use at all. And my computer kept telling me there was nothing wrong.
My dad managed to fix it, but I've been panicking all night! And since this is the thread to randomly start talking about random things, I thought I'd just complain here, because I always feel better about things once I've complained about them!
And it probably doesn't sound very scary, but it was terrifying. So yeah, I think I'll buy Parallels or VMware's thing instead of having to go through that again. I was nervous to begin with, because if I'd done this wrong, my computer would've been completely wiped (and it hasn't been backed up in a while).

*throws cookies to Asian, Helles Belles, & Ice* Enjoy! Fresh from the oven... *goes off to bake some more*
And as far as the computer. I KNOW how frightening that is. I once lost EVERYTHING because my hard drive burned up... I about cried -_- I lost a remix of a song I started to make that I was proud of & a bunch of other stuff.. Some important some not. Again, a couple months ago my computer started acting funny... and my dvd burner went out so I couldn't back up my stuff, and it wouldn't stay connected to the net long enough to transfer stuff. Luckily, my dad could backup everything by directly connecting my harddrive to his -_- Thinking of how much you can lose when your computer fails is VERY frightening... If I lost everything on my laptop I'd be doomed... I have school stuff on here

I once got the blue screen of death...and almost died. I sympathize with how terrified you had to have been! Now I run with two hard drives. It could still happen- but I have a 50% recovery rate.
