Ghostflower smirked and nudged Claw's neck playfully. She had to giggle at his comment. They were an odd pair, but they were perfect at the same time.
"Claw... Have you ever had a mate before?" She asked.

Claw's eyes grew distant as he stared at the ceiling, as if he were staring into the past. "Yes, a long time ago, more than one hundred years ago, in fact. I had a mate, and a little son, Leander, just like his father. I was sent out hunting a powerful vampire, and when I returned a year later, I found them. The vampire had sent his henchman back. My wife and son were killed. They didn't stand a chance." Claw said, a single tear running down his face.

Ghostflower looked down at the water and moved a few places away from Claw. She pulled her knees up and clutched them to her chest. She didn't know it would become a touchy subject, now she didn't really know what to do.
"I....I-I didn't know. I'm sorry..If I knew I wouldn't have asked.." She said, her voice somewhat trembling. She stood up, climbing out and taking a towel. She grabbed her clothes and walked into his bedroom, getting changed. She walked into the living room and sat in a corner and curled up into a ball. She didn't want to cry, but she started too and now it was hard for her to stop.

Claw turned, reaching out to Ghostflower. "Ghostflower, wait." he said. when she walked out, he sighed, pulling himself from the tub. Drying off, he pulled on his pants, neglecting the shirt, and walked out to find Ghostflower. Kneeling beside her, he wrapped his arms around her, and kissed her hair gently. "It's alright." he whispered. "You didn't know. It was over a hundred years ago. It's the past. Now we have the future, you and I, together."

Ghostflower looked up at Claw with a tear stained face and nodded. She dried her eyes and smiled alittle.
"I'm sorry.. I get sensitive and.." She stopped, taking a deep breath. "I promise I'll do my best.." She said hurriedly.

Claw hugged Ghostflower tight. "You don't need to promise me anything. I know how things like that are. My mate was a gentle healer, much like you." Claw kissed Ghostflower's cheek. "Let's just focus on us, now."

Ghostflower nodded and looked down at the ground again. Her eyes were still blue, thought they were slowly changing to a light pink. She looked up at Claw again smiled, standing up.

Claw smiled, standing with Ghostflower. He looked into her eyes, smiling softly. "Such lovely eyes, always changing. I'm stuck with these gray ones." he said.

Ghostflower sat in Claw's arms and leaned her head against his chest.

Ghostflower smiled and kissed Claw's chin gently. She looked up at him and gazed into his eyes.
"What was it like having a child?" She asked.

Claw smiled softly. "It was wonderful. I'll be the first to admit, my job as a hunter kept me from being the perfect father, but little Leander was the light of Kaelin's and my lives." Claw said with a sigh. "Other than that, I don't know how to describe it. Why do you ask?" Claw asked, raising his eyebrows.

Ghostflower looked away and sighed.
"I...I always wanted a little girl.. But most of the men I met were just with me for the sex.." She said quietly. "I was going to have a baby once, but there were complications.."
