Nereus blinked, trying hard to understand her speech.
At the last sentence, he relaxed, finding it a good idea.
Nodding to Odelay and Ona, he took her paw in his hands and led her further away from the group.
"Let's go, then. It seems like that's the only way." he purred, swiping away the branches with his other paw.
Hesitating, he turned back to the group.
"Be careful here. Those pine needles don't look friendly."

Ona began to giggle as soon as Kamea and Nereus left
“Nereus and Kamea sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G! She sang between her laughs.
As soon as she was out of laughter she turned back towards Odelay
“You ready to go Uncle?” She asked

Odelay nodded and picked Ona up placing her on his back. He than turned to the fish and picked it up. The two could share when they found a place that was dryer.
"Breath ba bay... BAYY! By boubth biss bll beibrd...." Odelay gad forgotten the fish was in his jaw. He shook his head and gave what he thought was a friendly smile.

Kamea smiled at Nereus, youthful innocence and didn't even realize there might be more between two Taes besides friendship or a mutual support for survival. When she heard Ona, she blinked in confusion. "Kissing?? I've never heard of such a thing. Is that a person too?" Her wings fluttered in agitation at having to learn so much so soon. It would be alot for her to remember later on.

Odelay chuckled, also set the fish down so he could talk clear. He was sure he knew what kissing was. That didnt mean it was correct though.
"Kissing is when two Tae's try to eat the others face. Its like some kind of martial arts I think." Leaning over he picked the fish back up in his jaws.

Ona just stared at Odelay for a few minutes after his reply.
“Yea... um…okay... You know let’s just get off this topic okay, yea, yea, okay.” She mumbled while she swiped at the air with her right paw as if a fly or bug was there

Kamea blinked in horror at the description of kissing and took her paw back from Nereus in shock. She took a step backwards from him, eyeing him suspiciously looking very comical in doing so. "If you're hungry there are fish in the stream... because I am most decidedly not edible." Her wings fluttered her agitation and confusion.

Nereus blinked in shock. Was he trying to eat Kamea's face?
Slapping himself in disappointment, he also took a few cautious steps back.
"I'm sorry, Kamea. I didn't think I was attempting to eat your face." he whined shamefully, bowing his head in apology.
Shooting a thankful glance at Ona and Odelay, he settled down in his spot again, tilting his head inquisitively to the side.
"But the way I heard it, kissing was a way of showing affection..." he mused, closing his eyes and thinking hard to where he had heard it.

Ona was hypnotized by the beauty of the forest and the music of the stream. After a few minutes of being in its trance she woke and noticed that she was still on Odelay.
“Uncle you know you don’t have to carry me right? I’m big enough to be able to walk. But that doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy when you carry me around Uncle.” She said while nuzzling her nose into the fur on the back of his neck.
“You’re like a dad to me.”

Nereus frowned.
"If he's like a dad to you, why do you call him, 'Uncle'?" he pondered, his head still tipped to the side.
Curious, curious.
"And what am I, then? Uncle's... friend?" he wondered aloud, pawing at the needles at the ground with one eye still on Kamea.
Nereus loved to think, and he felt very at home thinking in the forest, surrounded by friends. He sighed happily. Frankly, it didn't matter if he was an uncle, an uncle's friend or a... cousin or something. He was just glad to be hanging out with such great people.
He shot the three a smile.

Kamea tilted her head at the funny grin on Nereus face and blinked. "How does eating my face show affection? And, why show -me- affection??" She got up, not a clue in her brain as she began hunting out a suitable place to stay. She came across a very nice tree with a hollow above on the 5th branch level up and a large hollow near its roots. The tree was old, but still steady though its days of real growth were done for the time.
"How's this?"

“I like calling him Uncle! And of course your not Uncle’s friend, you cuis N!” She said with glee before facing Kamea
“That’s perfect Auntie! I call top hollow!”

Nereus scratched at his ear, pondering the question.
"Well, I guess... actually I don't know," he replied gingerly, staring at the ground in front of him, refusing to look Kamea in the eye.
"I think! I think that... maybe I just feel really close to you. 'Cause you're the first person I've met in this forest, and maybe my first friend, too... 'cause you're the one that I talked to first. And I wasn't trying to kiss you, either..." he trailed off, short of breath and short of things to say, too.
He sighed, squinting into the brilliant sun to spot the tree.
"You're so good at finding things, I-" he cut himself off, still abashed at his earlier speech.
"I'm sorry, I mean... uh, let's go," he laughed, leaping onto the first branch.

After a few minutes of struggling to get off Odelay’s back, Ona finally got off and began to climb from branch to branch towards the empty top hollow
“Girls get top!” She giggled before entering the hollow.

Kamea laughed melodically at Ona's eagerness. Listening to Nereus explain she blinked, still confused, "Um, ok?"
She flew up to check on Ona, "You settled in there?" She smiled. She had no knowledge or memory of having shared a home, so it never dawned on her to do so now. She would continue on to find another close by tree and hopefully not forget where she left them in this tree.
