New RP~
Ian had wandered up to the mountain to try to clear his head. For a few days now it had felt as though nails were being driven into his skull. "Gah," he grunted resting against a large-ish rock. What was wrong with him? he'd been afraid to look in a mirror, afraid that he might've been changing again.
So he didn't see the two small growths coming from his skull. Yup, his antlers were growing back, he was in for a painful time.
He shifted his back agains the stone and grimaced painfully. He should've asked for some advil at the cafeteria, but his head hurt too bad for him to even have thought of that.

The air was crisp and thin as a crimson locked vixen made her way up the steep path towards the mountain. Her padded claws dug into the stone pebbles as the foliated mound began to get closer in her view point.
She spied a raven haired boy with tiny bumps on his head. He looked miserable just sitting there all alone. Mad scurried over and rested her pawed hands on top of the stone he was sitting against.
"Excuse me, but is something a matter?" she asked with concern.

Ian jumped as a voice sounded from nearby. He hadn't even heard her approach.
He managed a nice smile as he looked at the familiar person, though she was a bit more changed than when he had last seen her.
"Ah," now what was her name again? Oh yeah, it was - "Madison?" he hoped he got it right. He remembered her help when they had been trying to take care of Emerwyn.
Maybe company could help him forget the throbbing in his head. "How have you been?"

As Mad fixed her gaze into his emerald eyes. They looked so wide and innocent just like a deer caught in the headlights. She had remembered him as a patient in her office awhile back. The change in his outward appearance was quite extraordinary but inward he appeared to be the same person. Ethan? No that wasn't his name. She struggled to recall as she bit her bottom lip.
"Yes, I remember you," she replied as she kneeled down to his level. She thought he looked in pain enough without having to crane his neck up to talk.
The name Emerwyn also struck a painful chord with her. The last time Mad had seen her, the girl was in very bad shape. She felt the need to ask this Evan or whatever his name was what had become of her.
"If I may ask, what has become of Emerwyn. Is she alright? Also, it embarrasses me greatly but I seem to of lost your name. Could you please be a dear and refresh me?"

The deer remembered the last time he had seen Emerwyn and smiled a true smile, unclouded by pain. "Emerwyn is doing much better. She has found. . .I guess one could call it an inner peace." He was glad too. He had also found what he had been looking for. "Ian," he said to her question of his name. He had been surprised he remembered her name, but he had discovered taht since coming to the island he didn't remember many names from back 'home' but he could remember most of the islanders names, even if it took him a minute of thought to do so.
"And how have you fared?"
He reached a hand up to rub at his head and green eyes widened as they came in contact with the knobs. "Oh no," he groaned. Now he knew exactly what was going on. And he knew it would last a bit as well.

A calming sensation drifted over Madison's furry body. It was great that Emerwyn was doing better. She brought a fist to her face and lightly smacked for not recalling Ian's name. How could she of forgotten such a great name like that. She had always thought it sounded the way it was spelt like 'I-an' instead of 'E-an' so felt ignorant when she heard the true pronunciation. She was totally deaf before coming to the island so all the sounds were music to her ears.
"I have 'fared' rather well, Ian" she grinned. Her smile faded when she saw that Ian was in dreadful pain.
Upon closer inspection, Mad saw that those bumps on his cranium were indeed ANTLERS surprised . She couldn't imagine what horror this poor innocent boy was going through.
Suddenly, she recalled an acupuncture technique for animals she learned in grad school by an ex-boyfriend who was a herbalist. Mad didn't want to alarm Ian when she tried this so decided to let him in on the treatment.
"Ian hon, I know this trick that usually gets rid of a headache or lessens the pain. What I'm going to do is squeeze your ankle very hard and the pain should cease altogether or be fainter. Would you like me to try this? I don't want to invade your personal space without consent" she asked.

Ian was used to people invading his personal space. When he had been growing up, especially after his father died relatives had constantly been stopping over for lunch or dinner. The house got rather corwded - Ian's mother had 5 siblings and they and their spouses and children took up a lot of space.
"Go ahead, I truly don't mind." In fact, Ian would likely do anything short of jumping off a building to get rid of the headache.

Without another thought, Mad grabbed Ian's ankle and started rubbing it with force. She was trying to pressurize a vein that led up to Ian's nervous system. Finally she thought she felt it and squeezed but not so hard as to hurt Ian.
She looked up to him and cocked her head to the side as if asking if it helped.

Ian could feel the throbbing in his head lessen to just a dull ache, but that he could deal with.
He looked at the fox with a grateful smile, then almost laughed but caught himself. With her head cocked tot he side, she looked like a dog he had seen once.
It had been his Aunt Amanda's dog, she had brought it with her once. And it had tried to get table scraps by cocking its head to the side and seeming to ask for something.
Lucky for him though he didn't say anything. One could never be sure how someone would react being told that they resembled one's aunt's dog.

Ian was now looking at her in a strange way with a smile playing upon his lips. Mad blinked a few times before going over to sit by him in an indian style position.
"What made you so happy all of a sudden? biggrin " she asked him with a wagging tail

Should he tell her? It was only polite since she had asked, and he didn't want to lie.
With a quick sheepish grin he began; "For a brief bit, you um. . ." actually saying it was a lot harder than telling yourself you were going to say it. "Erm, you looked like my Aunt Amanda's dog." He turned a little pink and an ear twitched nervously. He hoped that she wouldn't react badly to what he just said.

Mad's mouth dropped open. What nerve and audacity of this boy to accuse her of resembling a dog. It made her twitch a little and she felt like snarling for a minute.
An itch provoked her to scratch her leg and this made her burst into giggles. Ian was probably right..she did resemble a dog. Foxes were in the canine family so no wonder. She hoped that she wouldn't succumb to any doggish behavoir such as the licking of ones own privates. -_- The thought just freaked her out.
"So you say.. but have you met any dogs as beautiful as me?" she snickered with a wink. Mad threw back her long red hair and fluttered her lashes.

Ian knew he shouldn't have said anything. His ear started to twitch a bit more and his face became even more red under all the hair.
"I uh-" he was stammering. This always happened, or it had. Ian thought that his awkwardness around people had finally gone away here on the island. Evidently he was wrong.
The man swallowed "No. . .well, maybe." Vasile was pretty, and in fact, except for his color he had looked like Amanda's dog as well. Ian didn't realize they were both foxes, and curse him for being honest and adding that maybe.

(( back! sorry for taking so long. we had to buy my sister chicken soup and sprite cuz she is sick))
Mad smiled at Ian and giggled. "I think you look like a reindeer! XD Just joking"
From hearing Ian's silly comment Madison felt like he was someone she would like to be friends with. A sense of humor was something she really treasured as well as blunt honesty.
"I'm feeling hungry. Maybe we should go to the cafeteria so that you can get some medication in case the pain comes back. What do ya say?"

"Ian was grateful that shje didn't press as to who the other person was that the maybe might have constituted. He rose and smiled reaching a hand down to help her up.
"That would be great, and hopefully these antlers won't take very long to grow back." Else he would need a rather large supply of the pills to keep himself from going insane (again).
"And reindeer are cool, they pull santa's sleigh after all." He finally saw the humor in what Moreau had given him for Christmas and grinned. "A sleigh, imagine that."
