"Wow," he said with suprise... "And I thought two was alot. How do you plan on training them?" He asked. Talon guided her through the main hallways of the Weyr. He passed other Candidates and other Weyrlings, each seemed to pass him a grin or snicker of some sort. An amused grin weaved it's way on his mouth as he turned down a long corridor... he examined the glow baskets pretending to see if they needed to be replaced. He led her to a staircase which would soon take them to the upper chambors for the dragonriders.

"Well, I wouldn't think it'd be to hard. After all, the flits seem to be musically inclined naturally." she said. "It'd just abe a matter of getting them to sing in time with the music I played." she said, gesturing to another bag that the boy was carrying. It wasn't actually a bag, but a hard rectangular case that contained her custom instrument, a gicitar she called it.
Her flit followed along behind his owner, stopping every so often to examine something of interest before continuing on again.

After hearing her mention it, Talon recalled hearing something of the same degree in his book about the flitts. He smiled, remembering his friend named Heroe he wondered how she was doing. It had been awhile since they had seen each other much less than have a chance to talk. He gave a small sigh, before adjusting the packs on his back, he marched up the stairs. They were about half way up the stairs. He had quieted down a bit, remembering that they were going to be having another lesson late that evening.

Silence settled over the pair as they marched their way up the stairs. Chaeren couldn't help but wonder just how many stairs there were in this place. It seemed even worse than bended, if that was at all possible.
"So Talon, how old are you?" the woman asked conversationally, resettling her pack on her back as she did so.
As far as the woman could see, he didn't look like he could be more that 15 or 16 turns. A good age for a candidate.

They finally reached where they needed to be, he found the door and jiggled the knob and it opened. "Just turned 15." He nodded to himself, he held the door open for Chaeren, he peered through the hallway trying to remember which direction was South again. He mused to himself before pointing to the right. After closing the door behind them he showed her to the chambers set aside for her. "If I'm not mistaken, I think ths is it."

"Really? So i was right then. I figured you for 15 or 16 turns." she said with a smile. She entered the room and looked around approvingly.
"This is perfect!" she said with a grin, setting down her bags on the bed and looking around, inspecting her new quarters. Her bronze flit did the same, roaming around the room, sniffing at some of the furniture and inspecting it with faceted eyes.
"If you could just toss that stuff on the bed, that'd be great." Chaeren said with a smile back at the boy. she knelt next to the fireplace and saw that there was still some wood there.
"Say, you wouldn't happen to have some flint on you, would you?" she asked Talon. "Mine's buried somewhere in my bags, and I need to get a fire going to keep these eggs warm." she said, gesturing to the bag on her bed.

Talon looked around the room, it was so much different then his so called 'room,' which consisted of a half-dozen of bunkbeds and just about that many clamoring candidates. He watched her move about the room. He spotted the bed and gently set the packs down. One of these days- he was about to continue to himself when she asked him about the Flint. "Huh? Oh.. um..." He dug his hand in a pocket and fished out a small gently worn Flint. "Here it is..." He tossed it over in her direction, quite oblvious to the fact that she might not be good at catching things.

Luckily, Chaeren was good at catching, something she'd had to practice at though as a child. She caught the flint struck it over the wood. It took a few tries but luckily someone had been kind enout to leave some tinder in the fireplace, so it soon caught and the fire flickered to life.
"There we go!" the rider said, standing and walking back over to her bed. "Thanks for letting me use it." she said and pressed the flint back into the boy's hand with a smile.
She picked up the bag containing the eggs and headed back over to the fireplace and set it before the crackling fire. she opened the bag up and pulled out several now sandy furs which she placed to the side carefully lest she get sand everywhere. Four small eggs were revealed, gently nestled in the golden sand as Chaeren pushed the bag a bit closer to the fire, and rearanged the eggs so they could each get an equal amount of heat.
Her little bronze flew over and nosed at the eggs until his owner shooed him away and told him not to mess with them. He chirped upsetedly and flew away and landed on the bed post.

(( Whoops got disracted... ))

Talon was used to tossing things back and forth between his friends. He took the flint and stuffed it back in his pockets. "No problem." He said, looking about it seemed like she had everything. "Anything else you need?" He asked with a grin, he looked outside to find the sun was far from setting, which meant he still had plenty of time before going back down to the area where he was suppose to be working.

"Lots and lots of meat." the rider said suddenly as her bronze simultaneously began to sing a low, thrumming type song as he flew over to the fireplace and landed beside the bag of eggs.
As Chaeren watched, all four of the eggs began to shake violently.
"Oh dear! I'm nowhere near ready! I thought it'd be another day at least!" the woman exclaimed. She shifted nervously from foot to foot, unsure of what to do.
"Talon, I don't know where the kitchens are and I need food for them pronto! Could you run...No wait!" she said, snapping her fingers.
"Ride Yersith down to the bowl, run to the kitchen and get enough meat for four ravenous flits and come back the same way, and quick!" she said and started pushing the boy towards the ledge outside. Meanwhile she was calling to her dragon mentally and explaining what she needed.
'I am here mine, I will take him to get food for the small ones.' she said calmly as she landed neatly on the ledge, kneeling for the boy to climb on.

That calm seemed to spread to Chaeren and she paused. "wait, I'm sorry Talon, I haven't even asked you if you want to help me out. you don't mind do you?" she asked, glancing nervously back at the rocking eggs.

(( -dies- Is that even legal? XD I may have to go out and feed my horse real quick. ))

Before Talon could do anything he was being pushed out towards the ledge as he saw the massive green dragon. His right hand began to twitch, but he followed her pushing. "Uh... I.. um... sure!" He gave her a dazed look before climbing abroad the dragon's back. The kitchen... get meat... fly abroad dragonback, seems easy enough. He looked at all the knots and rings and other equipment strapped around the dragon's back.

"Thank you so much!" Chaeren said and strapped up two of the basic straps over the boys legs, not bothering with the rest. They wouldn't be neccessary with the trip just being a short drop into the bowl. An experienced rider could do it bareback, but she had a feeling the boy might fall off if he tried.
"There, now get going!" she said and slapped her dragons flank while calling "Careful with him Yersith! He's knew at this!" before hurring back into her weyr to watch over her eggs that were so close to hatching.

Yersith dropped quickly and smoothly into the bowl, careful not to make any movement that was too sudden lest she upset the inexperienced boy on her back. She landed neatly on the ground and turned her head back at the boy and did something she rarely did with others beside her rider.
'Go quickly. I will wait here for you.' The dragon said in a low, calm voice to the candidate.

The rest of her words were a blur in his mind as the mighty Dragon swooped downward. The thrill was so quick and sudden he didn't have time react. Before he knew it he had unbelted the straps and went stumbling/dashing in the direction of the kitchen. Several minutes later he bursted through the kitchen overturning one tray, knocking down a drudge, and scaring the daylights out of the cook. "I need meat for four hungry flits!" He yelled, begged, and demanded all at once. Moments later and colorful curses coming from the cook never do such a stunt again he was back on track.

When he reached Yersith he had several large sacks tied over his shoulder and around his neck. With one hand he grabbed the harness and then pulled himself onto the Dragon. His clumsy fingers grabbed the belts and tried to copy what the Dragonrider had done in the beginning, he nodded in satisfaction at his work. "I'm ready."

Yersith nodded and in one downbeat of her mighty wings she was back up in the air, another gave her the neccessary height she needed. It was only seconds later that she landed on her ledge once more and walked into her part of the Weyr, then knelt for the boy to dismount with his bags.

Chaeren heard her dragon return and ran to her mount and Talon. She quickly undid the straps and helped the boy slide down. She took the bags hastily saying "Thank you!" and running back to the fireplace where the eggs were just beginning to crack open.
A few moments later, flits began to tumble out from the remains of broken egg shells, and Chaeren began to stuff them promptly full of meat.

Yersith stuck her head through the door and watched she pulled back out and nudged the boy into the room.
'Go in and wait. She will want to thank you.' she told the boy, then withdrew to the ledge and stretched out to sun herself.

Talon slowly slid down and off Yersith and let Chaeren take the bags from him. He felt Yersith push him back into the room, and he followed the gentle nudge. He couldn't believe that he just rode on a dragon, and even more so without anyone else holding him there. He blinked once... twice before finding a seat in the room, watching her feed the baby flitts. He remembered when his Bronze and Brown hatched just yesterday. It took a few minutes for his mind to process everything clearly again and the excitement set in of riding a dragon for the first time.
