Ruby St.Claire Das Steube Ruby St.Claire Pendari pulled him to a corner in the hallway and began to explain what she expected him to do in a very quiet voice. She leaned back after she was done. "Are you clear with that? I don't care for botched or partial jobs, and if it's possible make most of the deaths appear accidental until the numbers are down low enough to take out the rest in one sweep." Sean laughed. "Accidental, no. But make them messy like a convict got ahold of them? Aye, that much I can do. Close enough, O Kind Benefactor?" Pendari tilted her head and then nodded, "aye, that will suffice well enough." She stroked the tip of her chin a moment, "First step would probably be clearing out the engine room first, like chopping off a branching limb. I can do it myself, unless you would prefer taking that job, or following me around like lost puppy." Sean chuckled as she spoke. "I'll follow you for the first few."

Pen moved quickly through the hallway. The orb trailing after her. As usually she had a cold look on her face. She glanced at a few passerbys in the hallway but refrained from attacking anyone.

Myke takes his way slowly through the halls, looking for the bar. Cigarette still in his mouth as he glances down at passerbys who stare up at him. The only thing that could slow him at this point would be former fans. But Judging by his recent history, he doubted he had any. cool

((Funny thing, that... I don't suppose you were asking for this?))
Lanita stormed around a corner into the same hallway as Myke, still carrying A.C.'s limp form over her shoulder. In a bit of a state, she didn't even notice him until she was nearly on top of him, and at first glared harshly up to see what ex-con had dared to get in her way just now.
It quickly broke into a smile when she recognized him. "Iron Myke! Oh, I'm sorry, here..." She moved out of his way with slight grace, not even noticing when she bumped A.C.'s head against the wall. "I'm sorry about interrupting earlier, it won't happen again, Mr. Myke! I hope you're having a wonderful day! Let me buy you a drink sometime we're both in the bar, okay?"

Pendari walked down the hallway on her way to the bridge. There was still blood splattered on the hem of her skirt from the most recent victims. She made note to clean it off the moment she had a chance. As she walked her orb made a soft beeping noise. Pendari paled and leaned against the wall "Go ahead and connect with him." Within a few moments Lankin's voice rasped from the orb's speakers.
"Gautrine, I'm losing patience with you, child. You're supposed to be finding the eye, and instead you're mingling with the civilians?"
"It's research, Lankin, you can't find a civilian holding the eye, without asking the civilians." Pendari stared at the wall in front of her, her jaw held tight.
"There's something you're not telling me Gautrine. Why would you talk so much to one specific civilian? And tell me, why have four of my leiutenants failed to check in this last hour? As of now we seem to be completely cut off from any of the forces based in the engine room."
Pendari held back a smile. "I told you the gas could be too strong. Troops shouldn't have been posted there at all."
"And is it just coincidence four other prominent members of the squad have gone missing? All according to rank?"
Pen shrugged, "It's a violent ship, prisoners kill people you know, perhaps it's just coincidence."
"Gautrine, what are you doing?"
Pendari leaned against the wall and chuckled. She had no need to answer, Lankin knew well enough what she had done.
"Gautrine you can't stop us. I'm sending out Lux immediatley."
"To rip a hole in the ship, killing us all, I'm aware of his methods." Pendari continued to chuckle. Whatever her efforts, at least she had bought them all a few more days time, as she had planned.
"Why, Gautry?"
Pen chuckled, "I did it for a friend, Lankin."
There was a pause on the line, and Lankin spoke in a low voice. "I hate to do this, Pendari, you had shown so much promise in the past. But I have no choice."
As he finished speaking the glove on Pendari's hand made a clicking sound. Pendari paled as a spider hidden into the glove disattatched and made the high pitched whirring sound as its drill started up. "No!" She tried to shake it off, but cried out in pain as the creature drilled beneath the skin of her hand, and at high speed began crawling up her arm. The lump underneath her pale skin clearly visible as with a trail of fire drilled its way up towards her elbow, seeking vital organs.
Her face chilled to concentration, ignoring the pain. With a smooth motion she grabbed a knife from her belt and slid to the floor, stabbing at her arm, the lump in her skin moving to the left and then the right as she continued to stab at it. Pen gritted her teeth and took one final jab.
A popping explosion echoed through the hallway followed by the clatter of a knife as it fell to the floor.
Pendari started to chuckle, looking at the puddle of blood, meat and bone, that used to be her right arm. Her hand was scattered a few feet away, for some reason she seemed to find it hilarious, along with the steady flow of red pouring from the stump at her elbow. Her vision began darkening, but she smiled as she knew she had at least bought them a few more days...it was a hefty price, however it was a price she would have paid twice over.

Farther down the hall and getting closer to their bunkroom, Lanita came across Pendari and the spider. Emotionally torn, she took a deep breath and used her rather theatrical 'hero' voice... the one that could be heard easily over a rock concert.
"HOLY HELL AND DAMNATION! God, I just want you to know, I have always loved you. That said, you suck major @$$." She set down A.C. and angrily pulled her gloves from a back pocket. "Stitches time, you little Company sucker," she said to Pendari, and smacked the floor hard with one splayed-fingered right hand.
The whole hallway suffered mild electrocution, especially the spider. Keyed to Lanita's bioelectrical field, however, she felt nothing and the other two only received a taser-sized shock. It partially cauterized the mess of Pendari's arm and woke up A.C.
Who puked.
"Lovely... Can you stand, sis, or do I carry you, too, while I take you to the medic?"
Holding down the rest of her protesting gut, A.C. stood and gave her a stark grimace.
"Good, I'm sick of carrying you." Lanita set Pendari's arms over her chest gently and picked the other woman up Rhett Butler style. She took a second to make sure it was a secure hold, then sprinted for the prison.
A.C. didn't stand a chance of keeping up, but that was alright. She was just going to... sleep a little...
A.C. collapsed on the floor of the hallway, feet laying in her own vomit, unconscious.

Pendari by this time had fallen out of consciousness. A small stream of blood still trickled from the stump of her arm, but otherwise the flow was stopped.
The mechanical orb however was floating around in complete confusion. It floated after Pendari, then paused and turned back to the parts of her hand still on the floor, and then ran into the wall, bumping itself over and over again. By the time it realized Pendari and Lanita had left the orb let out a long low whistle-like sound, and began wandering the hallways in a slow manner, completely lost.

The orb floated calmly into his grasp, as it whistled up at him, still in a low sad tone. Sections of it broke apart and it looked up at him with a blue tinged light similar to an eye.

((its like R2D2 IN BALL FORM!)) Myke smiles a smile he hadnt in a long time, a smile of kindness. The little mechanical bugger was kinda cute lookin in a orb of metal and bolts sorta way. He wished he could talk to it, cause he had a feeling that although it seemed to be able to see him, it probably could only understand spoken words. But he would try anyway, holding it out in one hand he held his other hand up in a peace sign that was used many years ago.
