I was suppose to place the violin, but then I switched it to the viola since there were only 2 viola players in my high school orchestra. I just switched because they are kinda the same and I'll still be learning an instrument. I'm just a beginner still by the way...
@Calvin-and-Hobbes: yes everyone does think it's a violin -_- very irritating..

UI play the Vilola XP i love teh sould i like it when the Octictra teacher Plays Scary Music On her Viloa she has a Vilola and a BAsa dn viloen She very good she also Plays piano razz mrgreen

8th grade Viola player.... I've been playing for about 4 yrs... since 5th grade. I started on the violin.

Violin player, third chair.
I've only been playing since the beginning of school, though, so I'm not that good. Basically, at this moment, I'm only making sounds, not music. However, some time next year (early, hopefully), I'm going to get private violin classes outside of schools.

I play first violin for my school's "regular" string orchestra, but since I'm going to be a senior next year, I'm hoping I can get into the "pro" chamber orchestra... which will be tough, considering most of the people there have been playing for around ten years, and I've only been playing for seven. =/
Someday I want to learn how to play the cello. After hearing the string intro of "Fog Bound" from Pirates of the Caribbean 1, I tried playing it on my violin, but it just didn't sound right... That's when it hit me - duh, it's a cello! Violin's great for high parts, but I really love the tenor sound of the cello. 3nodding

I play the violin. I haven't been playing all that long. My school doesn't have "chairs" though, my teacher places us in seats at random. So I never know whether I'll be a first or second violin each time a new trimester rolls around or we have a concert. I named my violin Momo-chan. I don't exactly know why... I guess I just like that name. Oh wait, now I remember why I named it that. I named it that because A. It's a girl violin (Or at least that's what I think) and B. Momo is Momijii Sohma's little sister who plays violin and is really quiet, like me. Momijii Sohma and Momo are from Fruits Basket.

I'm sad... My siblings make fun of me for being in the orchestra when they can barely even play their own instruments!! Just because they play the Saxophone and the Cornet, they think they're better than me!!! Hello!! I've been playing for 5 years and they started last summer!! They just bug the crap out of me and always say "band is better than orchestra,". NO IT'S NOT!!!!!! There are so many things we can do that they can't on their instruments! (vibrato, shifting,etc.)

Yes, I play violin. (3 years)
I also play guitar and piano. (1 year for guitar, and 2 for piano)
All string instruments. =)
::Edit: My school doesn't have chairs, but I always play first violin in our music.
