Jerome sighed, put a hand over the demons, fighting a blush back (and winning, too), in a sort of fatherly habit left over from being a priest.
"I aught to. Je ne veux pas...but I really should. And thank you for this," he said, holding up the cassock-c**-blanket, "it's really very lovely."

Sols eyes widened and he sucked in his breath so sharply he gasped as a shudder ran through him at the priests word. Color stained his cheeks as both his outward reaction, and internal reaction; it felt like there was...something, he didn't quite know how to describe, having never seen nor heard of butterflies. But it felt warm and nice and though unfamiliar, he wouldn't mind feeling it again.

Drawing his hand back slowly, letting his fingers linger over Sols, Jerome stood and folded the blanket neatly.
"When can I see you again?" He was aware that sounded cliche (to what, he wasn't sure) but he also didn't care.

With slight longing, Sol watched the priests fingers slide over his, giving the faintest shiver over the delightful sensation. Breifly he wondered what those fingers would feel like over the rest of him and he fought hard to not blush, nearly missing Jerome's question.

With slight puzzlement he looked at his companion before understanding dawned on him and he gave a gentle smile. Taking advantage of the situation, he once again laid his hand over Jerome's, relishing the contact. "You may see me whenever you wish. Simply call for Kuraki or Bekka to fetch you."

"But what if it's not convenient? I wouldn't want to intrude on anything important." Jerome felt his hand naturally fitting itself into Sol's, and tried to ignore the unfamiliar fluttering in the pit of his belly.

Idly and without much thought, Sol rubbed his thumb over Jerome's hand, some small part of his mind admiring the delicate bone structure and an even smaller, more evil part, calculating exactly how much pressure it would take to crush.

The smile never left his face, however morbid his inner thoughts and he gave the gentlest of squeezes. "For a friend, it is always convenient. Simply call, they will bring you. Should I happen to be engaged, it would be but a few minutes before I would arrive."

Aki runs from the room to be hunted down by Raverick and never seen again. There. He's dead. Gone. Poof. *sighs in relief* And Raverick is plotting my death right now... *growl*

((Okay okay, lemme just give Aki a pair. Uke or not he used to kick at least some a**, I guess. Sheesh LQ, never knew you loved ukes so much. *snicker* And I was being an idiot last night. He's a damned kitsune, of course he has magic. I just haven't thought on it very much...))
Actualy, I despise them with mywhole heart and what is left of my soul. XD But Aki deserves a better exit than that.

Aki jumped out of the way before he could be pushed. He did know how to stick up for himself after all. Of course he didn't really want to get his a** fried by Rio either. In this form he wasn't at his strongest, or quickest for that matter, so he shrunk himself into his more natural mini-kitsune form. More dexterous on four legs and hardly two feet tall anymore, he would be able to get around Rio with much more ease.

There was a blush, a quickening of breath and Jerome found it difficult to meet Sol's eyes.
"I will try and keep that in mind. But now, I fear, I must go. Kuraki?" He was only vaguely aware that he aught to let go of Sol's hand, but extremely reluctant to do so.

"Idiot child!" Aiku growled, shoving Aki behind himself.
Fighting against the cold, he gathered his sleeves out of the way and backhands Rio across the cheek with a blow that would break a human bone.

His concentration on the spell was so intense, he did not sense Aiku moving until the blow landed. With a startled yelp of pain and surprise, he went toppling over, the spell dissipating and the terrible pressure in the room going as suddenly as it came.

Stunned, Rio lay there, cheek throbbing and his mind moving from "spell, concentrate, hurt" to "I'm hurting. Human hit. MUST KILL!" and he gave a terrible growl, jumping and landing in a semi-crouch, eyes locked onto Aiku.

Just before he took a step towards him, movment caught his attention and he shifted focus from the human to the kitsune. It wasn't that he wanted to kill one more than the other...he was just operating on pure animal instinct and going after whatever happened to be moving in his vicinity.

With a pleasant "Cheep" the little icefire popped in and stood waiting, like an eager little puppy, for jerome to say where to go.

Sol, meanwhile, found himself torn between letting the priests hand go and holding on, making him stay. Looking at their overlapping fingers, he got a small start and quickly let them go. His smile became the tiniest bit forced but still pleasant. "Go, Jerome. You have your duties as I have mine. " He took step back and Kuraki latched on the priests hand, stil waiting for orders on where to go.

"Remember though, you are welcome at anytime." This time his smile was genuine and he waited for the priest to leave.

Jerome followed Sols gaze and stared in perplexion for a moment after the quick withdraw.

"I will, thank you. It won't be long. Back to the church, Kuraki, if you don't mind."

Kuraki popped them both to Jerome's private room at the church, then waited to see if Jerome had any other requests.

Back at the Shiki, Sol gave a small sigh and ran a hand through his hair. It disturbed him, these strange feelings the priest evoked. Yes, he was pleasing to look at, and could hold a wonderful conversation. Not to mention his discerning palate when it came to tea.

He knew about friendship. He hadn't experienced much of it, but he had heard, seen and, one slow afternoon, even read about it so he knew he and the priest had a small, but substantial riendship.

However, he had never heard of friendship involving that warm feeling, like a fuzzy blanket wrapped around him, now the pleasant tingle when they touched. And it certainly did not explain the gut reaction he had when Jerome spoke that odd language. Just remembering it gave him a shiver. Which disturbed him, which got him thinking again...a rather vicious cycle on his part.

A knock to his door informed him that he had to meet a client soon, so, shaking all thoughts of the human to the back of his mind, he went and got ready.

"Thank you Kuraki, I'll be fine from here."
He'd never been a particularly religious man, despite his current occupation, but he took his vows seriously. More seriously than many of the clergy that he'd encountered. And the thoughts that Sol was putting into his head were certainly unbecoming of his station. He resolved to spend the rest of the afternoon in quiet meditation.
There were many paradoxes that Sols mere existence presented to him that he hadn't allowed the time to think on. Particularly now that...that there was blushing and awkward excuses for contact going on between them. Hell, he'd even pray, that usually cleared his mind well enough.
He smelled the blanket to see if there was anything of Sol on it (there wasn't, of course, but didn't hurt trying) before he spread it over his bed, taking some moments to runs his fingers over the fine cloth. It was considered gluttony, the excesses of fine textiles.

(Hey! I got the 100th post! I get a cookie! yay!))

For his part, Sol went about his business, meeting with clients and practicing the dances for the next party held there. Through it all, despite his best efforts, his thoughts returned more and more to the human priest and he would catch himself smiling for no reason he could see.

What was worse, even Akkan noticed and the other incubus had been giving him a strange, knowing look all day but had refused to say anything. And Sol would be dammned it he asked his main rival and closest "friend" what that look was for.

He took a few days to think on things, meditating on it when he could find the time alone. But then...then things happened there was the feast of St. Michael and a funeral and christenings and the days slipped by, each evening a sharp reminder that he hadn't seen Sol that day. More questions and dilemmas cropped up every time he felt that pang, but he tried to just get on with it.

Sol went about his business and every day looked forward to some news concering the preist. With each sucessive time there was nothing, he found himself growing inexplicably more sad.

Since he genuinely liked Sol--and because it would piss Rio off--Dravyn called him in to talk, and soon, standing on the parish steps, was a young teenage boy of striking beauty and wearung loose black pants, a leather vest and nothing else, looking around at everything with wide eyed fascination. The cars especialy held his attention and he remained onthe steps, watching them go by.

There weren't many people there that afternoon, but those that were going in and out of the little cathedral gave the new boy odd looks. After a moment or two a woman stopped next to him.
"You look lost, dear, why don't you come inside for a spell, hmm?" she was bent, and grey, but her eyes crinkled at the corners from many years of smiling.
