"We're not having a fight. It would hardly be much of a fight anyway." Amethyst didn't want to fight but she also didn't want to be disregarded. So she played. She put her crossbow back on her back and turned to walk away, daring them to say something. "Now then, where did our residant king head off too?" she mumbled to herself. She walked off in the direction of the city.
We do not fight... we observe and record those observations. Another flash back. Another memory to be forgotten for now in the back of her head.

"Oh come now calm down. I wasn't going to hurt the girl. Iwas walking along and she was following me. And besides, if I had wanted to harm her I would have done it by now." She said without turning around. Another flashback struck but she didn't let this one surface. She continued on her way into the city. No need that she was headed to the temple as well.

"Thank you for the welcome. It's much better than the first." She replied without looking at him. Then she rounded on Shorin. "Why did you lure me here? I don't like temples." She looked him right in the eyes. And then looked down because another flash back surfaced in her mind. No element in particular, just a series of words that didn't make sense. She couldn't push this one away, so she walked slowly outside and sat down heavily on the steps. She couldn't see past them.

She paused to think for a second. A mage? she thought. How was that possible. "I've been a fighter all my life and a mage is not something that I want to be. Give me one reason that you think that I'm a mage." She challenged him. If se was lucky, he wouldn't be able to give her an answer. All she wanted to do was fight and observe. That's all that she wanted... "Well?"

he held up his hand. "it's simple. those headaches you get. they throat out magical energy like a beacon. i'm stopping them now from spreading. those mental waves are only found in mages. you can ask Father Jax."
Jax growls. "yeah. it's true." he sat down on the other side of the girl

She groaned loudly. They had a point and she knew it. "So how do I get rid of these headaches?" If she was a mage she could at least not be in pain. There were a million other questions she had but since she didn't trust them enough to ask, she got up and stood at the top of the steps.

Shorin sighed. "you use magic. you haven't before. that's why it's building up, and starting to hurt. once you start learning to use it, the pain will go away, at least for a while."
Jax shrugs. "i can try to heal it, but i'm not sure if that'll work"

Nancta listened to this exchange from the roof of the temple. She flipped upside down, hanging by her feet so that her head was right next to Amethyst's.
"It could also be a harmful spirit, or a minor deity that's trying to escape. I've had one before and they're nasty. Got it right before my parents died. When did you first start getting the headaches?"
