Both of you have valid points. I think the behavior of a chimera could very well depend on the sum of its parts as it were. I mean, it's not the same to mix the DNA of savage beasts than to mix DNA of peaceful creatures. Still, even the most peaceful of creatures can turn vicious if under the right circumstances. You know?
I think it would also depend on the person who was turned into a chimera, Drizzt already mentioned how he would hate it but, would anyone like to end up as a chimera? Who knows...
BTW, I think I got the concept of the chimera mixed up with the concept of the Manticore. Does anyone remember the Manticore as seen in Aria of Sorrow? It seems like a chimera to me and that's why I always get those two confused. mrgreen

Well according to wikipedia the manticore( literally translated to man-eater) supposedly had the body of a lion and the head of a human( only the human had shark-like teeth). Whereas the Traditional chimera had all animal parts( as earlier shown)

Funny you should mention that cuz there is a chimera in FFIII and it looks like a lion with 2 snake heads a couple of dragon-like wings and a tail that kinda looks like a scorpions but, I'm not so sure about the rail though...
Anywho, since this is a thread about crossbreeds, I thought of something. What do you think could possibly result from the union of an angel and a demon? Could such thing even be accepted in fantasy?

Hm I don't really know what too think on that one seeing as they are both religious beings the limitations and rules of their species would be derrived from whatever religion you were abiding by... Too many possibilities to be probable I suppose.

True... if I recall correctly, a movie already did something like that. I am not sure about the name but Adam Sandler starred in it as the son of the devil and it was up to him to restore balance to the underworld.
I really haven't seen the effects of the imp potions here on Gaia but don't they seem like they could be the end result of such a union? neutral

1.) Angels and demons are primarily spiritual beings.
2.) I doubt they'd want to go near each other in any way besides to fight one another.
3.) If an angel and demon got close enough to create such a thing, I believe it would be a heavenly outcast, be branded "traitorous", and be cast down to the demonic world itself, thus turning it into a "fallen angel" - making it a demon also.
So the result would be demonic regardless.
That's how I see it anyhow.

Yeah, I get how in this world they are spiritual beings and all that, assuming they exist. wink
However, I was thinking more along the lines of creatures that were physical instead of spiritual and live in a different world, or dimension.
I just thought about it cuz of that movie I saw but I suppose there are other movies or whatever that have explored the concept, I just haven't heard about many of them. Well, except here in Gaia with the gimpy potion...
I was thinking maybe it would be fun to develop a character that came from an angelic man and a demonic woman. I mean, it would be a bit more original than the angelic woman being impregnated by the demonic man, don't you agree?
