Lights danced in front of Josh's swimming eyelids. He could feel the blood soaking the little area of his shoulder where his shirt was. He heard three feminine voices surrounding him, but couldn't decipher who's voice belonged to who. A soft, cold hand touched the back of his neck, it suddenly grew warmer and then a soft sting replaced the blinding pain of the arrow.

Suddenly the shaft was gone and the only thing there was a pale grey-ish/white scar in the shape of an "X" where the metal spliced the skin. Another voice floated into Josh's eardrums, You okay?

"A-a-ah. Still hurts..." Josh had gingerly poked the area where the arrow had gone in. "What did you just do right then?" Water from tears were still present in his eyes as he gazed blearily at Kiyoko, but then Anne seeing that the elf was healed said, ;"Come on now, Josh, let's finish this!"

He stood up a little too quickly, eager to save those from the pack that he felt a new attachment to. He gritted his teeth as the pain came back with the movement of his arm, but he made sure to keep his mouth closed and tried to avoid letting the others see. "Okay... I think I'm ready."

Anne took this as a signal to dash off; Josh was hot on her heels. He winced in pain at every foot step, but pushed through - he could deal, he wasn't so sure about the others.

((Okay, ready for you to attack first Anne. I'm here to help))

(([EDIT:] I had Josh hit because I thought that I was sort of god-modding a bit, so I figured that I should even it out a bit and you did say that some of the ogres had bows and arrows. See you tomorrow hopefully! >.>))

(([DOUBLE EDIT:] I think that would be cool, like maybe we can finish up the first bunch and then go to rest and a second wave comes? wink twisted ))

((It's ok, I won't bite your head off. wink
And I think I'll call it a night; not only is it 2:45am here and I'm still working, and the others are kind of missing all the fun...I think we should leave at least a bit of the fight for them. blaugh
edit:josh, if you really want to fight some more, I can always conjure another pack of them for the rest... twisted ))

((Ok; I just don't wanna be a hyprocrite, when I get annoyed at people godmodding in some RPs (not this one!), which I do get annoyed at often. xd

Woah, it's really late over there, selphie. Why are you still up?! xd

I've g2g as well. I've now put Kiyoko back at square one with the staff. I mentioned the healing thing in the bio, so I'll stick with that for now. I just didn't want to leave her w/o enough powers, but the healing should work for now.))

((It's fine, Kyioko, I know we sometimes get too thrilled. So, now we're off to three, which should be easier. I'm up working in a stupid report. stressed University is a b****
let's rock, people!! and btw, sorry, it's my first time as a GM, I hope with time we won't have as many problems. ^_^))

Anne ran to the last few beasts, a smile of excitement on her lips, a trail of fire behind. She noticed Josh was having a hard time, and yelled "Stand back for a sec!" As she approached the mischievous looking ogres, she spread a large blast of fire, not by far enough to kill them but effective in stunning them for an easier approach.
Looking back, she winked at the boy. "Hang in there, let's have some fun!" She had noticed by his coolness and moves he was probably trained in combat, and that gave her some confidence. Waiting for him to catch up, the Elemental charged the ogres.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:14 pm

A quick warning was shouted back by Anne right before she flamed the heck out of a small bunch of lingering ogres. She winked one of her flaming eyes giving a signal that it was time to rock.

In the middle of the charge Josh casually asked, "Now what the hell did you just do there?" He dropped his body and planted his left hand on the ground (he would have used his right, but as of the moment - he is sort of disabled) and twirled his body, connecting legs with feet. The ogre began to flail on his descent to the ground.

A heavy ogre foot nicked his shoulder, but again with inhumane reflexes the elf scampered away falling flat on his back. His head slammed onto a strange wooden pole that seemed to run diagonally across his back. Josh sat up a little dazed from his skittish action and this time felt across his back. It was certainly wood. He pulled and there was soft whir of two materials rubbing. The bowstaff came into view; it seemed to be sturdy enough and had strange runic symbols around both "tips" and the "grip" in the middle.

He gave a malicious grin in Anne's direction and said, "Now why didn't anybody tell me I had this silly thing strapped on my back?"

The girl was about to answer Josh's first question when he just seemed to drop. She smiled at his trained, clean movements. "I could very well ask you the same..."
The girl quickly engaged in parrying with a particularly vicious specimen, nearly twice her size, and only caught a glimpse of his fall. When he took out the bow, she chuckled "I guess everyone just assumed you knew about it. Have fun, just don't aim me!"
She was breathless by now; the fight was certainly not easy. Remembering a move from an old videogame she used to like, she spun on her left foot and delivered a strong high kick to the beast's chin which twisted his head. Not giving it time to recover, she used the momentum from the spin to hit its heels hard with the quarterstaff, causing him to trip and fall massively at the girl's feet. "Nina Williams wins" she smirked jokingly, while turning to another ogre.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 7:47 pm

Josh chuckled at Anne's smooth comment about Nina Williams. "That was a pretty sick roundhouse you got there," he complemented. The elf tossed the stave up and down in both hands and then started to throw it between the two, trying to get a feel for the weight. He noticed that one of the sides had more weight than the other; it seemed to be thicker than the opposite end, this must be the whacking end he pondered.

The Elementalist turned on another ogre ready to fight, but Josh was also ready. He ran pell-mell at the freak and drilled his stave into its gut. A hearty "Ooof!" escaped from the ogre's mouth as his putrid breath engulfed Josh's face. The elf almost gagged as he dragged his staff powerfully up the beast's chest until it came in contact with his chin.

A welcoming crack of the teeth was heard and the ogre started to fall backwards. "I think I can get used to this thing here." He scanned the grounds; the hideous creatures were scattered everywhere. "I don't really see any more...do you?"

He made a full turn, still not seeing any conscious ogre. The adrenaline rush ended and all the muscles in the boy's body loosened. He let his body sink to the ground so he could lean up against the tree trunk. Now that he was actually done his "intense work-out" he finally realized just how tired he really was. In hopes to lighten the mood after a battle he asked, "How did you do that thing with the fire back there?" Josh just hoped that Anne would know what he was talking about, because he sure didn't really believe he saw what he saw (same with Timmy and his lightening eyes).

((By the way Selphie, it was a bowstaff biggrin Although I do have my bow somewhere else wink ))

((ok...I have no idea of what that is... xd ^_^))

Anne smiled at his compliment, and let him finish off the last beast. Looking around, she saw the ogres were all either dead or unconscious, and let herself fall near the elf, against the same tree, breathing heavily. She sure seemed to need a lot more of air in this new body of hers.
After a few seconds, and some thinking, she replied "I...I'm not sure. You've probably noticed none of us are actually human, now...I happen to control fire." She frowned; that didn't feel right "No, actually, now I come to think about it...it's more like if I am fire. I can't really explain it, but it's not just something I control. I feel it within me, like I have lava in my veins. I feel it's power and it's my power. It's like I'm a fire who can take a solid, human-like form, not the other way around...if that makes any sense."
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 8:08 pm

Josh peered through the leaves overhead at clouds. Lava for blood? But that makes no sense... is she speaking in metaphors or is she being literal? Anne seemed pretty sure about herself. Stuttering and thought show that a person is trying to put something difficult into manageable words.

"Yea, I think that that makes sense..." He glanced in the direction that the girl was in, "Do you have any idea what I can do? Do we all control elements or something, because I know that my body moves and bends more easily."

((A bowstaff is just a type of staff, that's all that I know smile I don't know the difference between that and a quarterstaff so I'm no real help here))

((it's ok...just knicks and knacks of English not being my first language - and we don't even have a word for any of those. Actually, I'm not even sure there is a word for 'staff' in that sense. We call them all sticks. xd ))

"Well...I don't think so. It seems to me everyone has a different type of power. You are obviously an elf, but I dunno if you have other powers. Try to focus your energies, and maybe you'll get them to reveal themselves. Or maybe it will happen with time."
Anne smiled kindly at the boy "By the way, how is your wound? Does it still hurt?" Now that she was purely exhausted, the stress and repressed energy she had been struggling with had been released, and she felt the power like a fireplace, cozy and soft. It greatly improved her social skills.
PostPosted: Wed Nov 14, 2007 8:27 pm

Josh listened to Anne's kind voice and did as she instructed. He began to focus on the slight tingling feeling that had been lying just underneath his skin ever since he had arrived. The elf could feel the power residing in his body and thirstily sucked it up, but couldn't grasp it well enough to bring it outside of his body into a "solid" form. It was almost like trying to grab a bar of soap in the shower/bath and the bar kept slipping away.

The young man was completely unaware if he was making swishing movements or any other twitches of the sort as he tried to withdraw his power. "Uh, well there's definitely something there I can feel it - I just don't really know what to do with it... You said something about my wound?"

Josh put on a face of concentration as he tried to remember what wound she could possibly be talking about. This time he immersed himself in his mind, in his thoughts, not in his body and his physical strengths and feelings. A pain like a jab surged through the elf's right shoulder blade reminding him. "Oh...that wound. Sorry, short term memory loss there."

He stopped again and inclined his head to the sky, something about the sky was simply thought provoking; that and water seemed to stimulate thoughts for Josh, you know - get the brain juices going. He moved his arm minutely to gauge the pain and carefully responded, "It hurts and all, but I'll definitely live. How are you holding up over there? With all the fighting and everything that you just preformed."

((I think I'm gonna turn in for the night, it was fun RPing with you xd ))

(( *whistles* Daaaaang. I missed three pages... and our first fight crying ! Hope you don't mind, but just so I don't feel totally useless, I'm gonna do this post ))

When Josh had pulled Tim's arm he immediately started running after him, but only four paces in, an arrow shot right in front of Timmy and embedded itself in the ground. He stoped short and spun to face the assailant. It was an ogre about twenty feet away, already notching another arrow. Timmy acted without thinking and ran toward the ugly thing. He swung one of his halberds off his his back and planted it in the ground while running. Like a pole-vaulter, he swung up and forward, the halberd now held backward in his hand trailing behind him. He landed a foot square on the beast's forehead and pushed back, flinging the ogre onto the ground. Timmy landed on his feet, the blade end of the halberd down on the ground and the pole stretching over his shoulder in a defensive stance.
He saw everything through a yellow haze. Anything that moved had a blue afterimage and a... before-image? It was like he could almost see the movement just a second before it happened. A blue outline of the ogre groggily got up from the ground and immediately after the real ogre got up, with the blue afterimage trailing behind.
Suddenly, Timmy heard (or more like felt) a kind of 'ping' off to the side of his vision, like the sound sonars always made on movies about submarines. He spun toward the sound and there was another ogre swinging a metal club straight at his face. Timmy ducked under it and hit the ogre in the gut with the blunt end of his halberd.
He 'heard' another ping to his left and without looking reached his left hand back and and swung his second halberd out. Letting it fly on it's own momentum, it slipped through his fingers all the way to the end when Timmy heard a sickly crack and squish sound. He tightened his grip and the halberd stopped short, embed through the head of the first ogre who apparently got brave enough to try hand-to-hand combat. He pulled both hands back and stood up, the now mostly headless beast tumbling to the ground, and the other one slumping down too, apparently passed out. Timmy put the halberds back and all at once the yellow-tinged vision was gone and he was staring wide-eyed at the dead ogre. He made a retching noise and stumbled. From the corner of his eye he saw Josh and the girl from before sitting against a tree and made his way over the them, flopping down and the ground. He barely managed to turn to the side before his lunch was out of his stomach and all over the grass. That made him feel better. He took a long deep breath. The image of his blade through that things head came back and made a little hiccup sound, trying to keep from throwing up again. He closed his eyes and eventually the sickly feeling went away.

Looking up at Josh and the girl, he smiled weakly. "We... we kind of kick butt... don't we?"

(( I have to call it a night, too. I just wanted to get some word in before I went biggrin ))

"I'm sore like I've never been before, lots of bruises in the making, but nothing broken and nothing torn." She gazed at the elf "Don't worry, you'll eventually figure it out. I'm still quite perplex at this whole thing." She shook her head "I'm still half expecting to wake up or something...but the chances of that look thinner and thiner." She sighed "Being tossed into some weird world with a new body and weird abilities, guided only by a ghost figure that wouldn't even give us a name...if I wasn't actually living it, I wouldn't believe it."
Closing her eyes, the girl leaned closer to the tree trunk "I think we'd better enjoy our chance to rest...we'll move soon enough."

((ok, ATTENTION: Seeing as it is absolutely impossible to have everyone online at the same time, I don't think there much sense in bringing more ogres. I will edit the number, raise it to about 20/30, and those who aren't here will roleplay it past-tense (or if they want to, as long as they don't wreck anything of what's already written, if there are a few online they can RP it real time like we did). I WILL GIVE ABOUT 36 HOURS FOR EVERYONE TO CATCH UP. Tomorrow night I'll send a PM to those who haven't posted so they have the chance to come and take a bite. On Friday we'll move along. And I'll make an effort to try and even out the pace of the RP, suggestions are appreciated (how long do you think a morning/afternoon should last?) if PMed to my mule. Any one against it, please speak up. ^_^

And now I'm really off to bed. 4:45am, I'm deader than those ogres. xd good night, surf_dude!))

Kiyoko had spent most of the time while hiding trying to get hte staff to work. She had tried tapping it, banging it against a tree, knawning on it ( a sudden cat instinct, which she regretted immediately, and she finally gave up. Seeing as the creatures were gone for now and her friends out there, she came out slowly.

As she did, it was the first time that the battle weariness fully took upon her, like a mystic spell with the mental strength of a boulder. She tripped and fell to the ground, beyond exhausted. PE was never like this, and she felt sort of emotionally drained as well. Perhaps it had something to do with some odd magic from before; either way, she was tired, confused, and felt guitly again. Josh had gotten hurt on her account, and she had done nothing to remove the actual pain. If someone had died in that battle, she could never forgive herself. But, she had also killed one creature. The other two were only out cold for now, but the one that got hte random ice blast was dead and encased in now-cracking glass, mostly because her powers weren't too great. She was only just starting, after all. The guilt had now multiplied by a thousand, and she lifted her head slightly to speak to the three warriors.

"A-are...you guys ok?" she asked breathlessly, and she looked up from her collapsed (and comfortable) position. "You guys were awesome out there! You figured out everything so quickly..." she added, feeling the sweat run down her entire body. She could have been a human waterfall with the amount of sweat that it was. Surprinzing, she didn't feel sick yet. She had felt more sick when seeing the nightmarish creature.

"The grass is so soft, it feels like...fluffy clouds..." she added, patting the ground with great appreciation to be alive and comfy.
