Fay swayed, wincing when Aiko's hands touched his back. "Yes, all of us have our calling, the blue in my eyes was an indication of mine. As the power of your mind was an indication of yours." Fay responded, his eyes closing as he attempted to bring the pain back in under his control.

With his hand so close to Fay Aiko could feel the mans pain beating against his mind and he streghthened his sheilds automatically in response. "Still.." Aiko let the topic drop. "If you don't mind can I show you to the clinic?" he asked. "She doesnt have to stop the pain if thats what your worried about, but your injuries should be looked at."

Aiko sighed, priests always seemed so stubborn, Aiko couldnt really be angry with him for falling in love, it wasnt something he thougt could be helped. "Would you like some water?" he asked.

Fay nodded. "Please." He questioned, moving to lean against the table, pressing his forehead to the cool tabletop. He was exhausted, the prayers draining out all his energy, his back hurt, and his heart ached for Darren. He wondered what his love was doing now, was he hurt? Was he suffering the same heartache that fay was?

Aiko nodded and went over to a small fountain near the entrance of the library, he filled a couple of the small cups with water and came back, placeing them in front of Fay. "Here, drink." he said.

Fay sat up again, blushing becuase he wasn't used to being waited on, murmuring a soft thanks he took one of the cups and swallowed the water down thurstily.

Aiko took the empty cup and went out, refilling it, he was carful to keep his hands covered, Fay didnt seem to care as much as some of his people but that didnt mean he souldnt take precautions not to contaminate him.

Fay finished off the cups, bring them to his mouth with hands that shook. He looked at Aiko. "You are not like how I remember you..." He said softly.

Aiko blushed slightly and crossed his arms over the table top and leaning his chin on them. "How do you remeber me?" he asked

Fay shrugged. "I was there at your induction. You were young then, afraid, I wanted to comfort such a child, but of course it is against the code." He said, his vioce alittle stronger.

Aiko blushed and ducked his head, he knew he was supposed to have been a willing sacrifice but the death of the previouse Dark One had come on suddenly and Aiko had been forced to replace him without a choice. He remembered begging his father not to let him go and the fact that his parents had been the first to shun him. "You were? I don't remeber you."

Fay shrugged. "I was younger, and you were not very happy." He responded, moving to hang his head, holding it up with his hands. "I was brought in to 'see' if they were making the right choice...they do not make such choices lightly." He felt the need to explain the priesthoods disicion to Aiko, to have him understand what they had been put through. "We were so rushed to find another candidate, they had to be certain we were making the right decision."

Aiko shuddered a little at the remembered ordeal, he hated what had been forced on him, he hadent even been prepared as normal canidates were. "There must of been someone else." he said, he still couldnt handle the idea of what would happen to him in a few years, No one had bothered to explain things to him after the ceremony so he had never been aware of what had gone on.

Fay shook his head. "Not at the time, we would have gone for the oldest if there had been....there was a child, but she was far to young, and you were older." He shook his head, grimacing.
