Cindy giggled as she looked back into her book, that was just cute really. She wondered what he was up to.
Perhpas he was curious she thought to herself.

Donovan nodded in reply, "I wouldn't know where to start otherwise, and... of the few times I'll admit it, but it is slightly awkward around here I find being who I am to go find builders and people to stay."
He had learnt something from his last trip, the humans here are what he had thought back home only counted for the minority of the Gaian population.

"We would be happy to help you," Ulani smiled warmly. "Why don't we go over what you want done, we can make a list of everything you'll need, and then we can tell you everything we know for this particular trip?"
"We can even offer you a horse or two, if you would like," Ulrich added. "As I said, we did breed them for a while, and now we've got ... almost an entire herd wandering through the valley. If you're planning on bringing some children back with you this time ... you might need more than one."
"Besides," Ulani pointed out, "you could probably use a second one, even if you don't end up finding any children, just for carrying provisions and the like. It would keep you freer."
Adonai peered shyly over his shoulder again and, seeing that Cindy was back to looking at her book, shuffled a little bit closer.
And closer.
And closer.
Until he was sitting right beside the couch, nearly touching her feet.

At least now things were falling into place, and it seemed less of a task as it did before. Donovan nodded somewhat relieved that there was someone who knew what he did not.
"Yes, I think that would be the best," he agreed, he hadn't thought about bringing more than one horse, but that always made sense.
Though he wouldn't need more than what the bag could hold (which was as Kara had made it limitless), but another horse for a child or two would be wise.

Cindy looked again only to find to her surprise that Andonai was at her feet, which was completely double taking at the moment. She peered over her book curiously as she murmured.
"Hello."

"All right then," Ulani smiled. "I'll be right back."
She rose and left the room in search of some paper.
Adonai looked up at Cindy and giggled a bit, then got to his feet and patted the couch next to her. "I sit?" he asked her hopefully, his dark eyes wide and begging.

The young lady (girl) nodded to Adonai's request, it was an innocent on after all. Most of all, she was glad that he wasn't as frightened of her as he was before, otherwise she would worry.
"Of course."

Adonai grinned and clambered up onto the couch, sitting politely next to her, but not so close that he was touching her.
He pointed at the book and ran his index finger along one of the lines. "A'sat?" he asked curiously.
Ulani was back in just a moment, paper and quill in hand. She passed it to Donovan as she took a seat again, and said, "Anything you need or want, just write it down. How you want your place organized, buildings you want, things you'll need ... and we'll worry about hiring the builders and the like. You can start off breeding with our horses-"
"It will be interesting trying to get them back into a paddock again," Ulrich put in grimly.
"-and we'll do our best to have everything ready for you by the time you visit next," Ulani finished, ignoring Ulrich's interruption. It wouldn't be as hard as he made it sound, and she knew it. And she knew he knew it.

Donovan made a good thought of it, and again mentally cursed the fact of the time difference. It had provided an oppertunity and a problem he had not foreseen.
"I'll be trying to visit once every day our time, it wouldn't be fair to those that are being hired to suddenly have me appear out of nowhere after a long while," he murmured.
He thought about it, there had to be the main house (he was so use to thinking in clan terms now), enouch rooms for hold the children for a while, however many that might be, he decided a floor for the children, besides he might ask for some of the family members to help. They would need a place to deal with the sick or injured, he doubted the elves could become sick if he recalled correctly, but malnutrition and injury was always a possibiliyt.
"At least until the place is built," he added absently, "I'll figure out somehow a time where it is not in the middle of the night over here."
Place to easy access to the horses, probably make it on the side of the main building and then have the side door near or lead into the medicial area in case worse came to worse.
"How do I go about with pay?"
He had thought about it, brought the gold but had not thought about method, it wasn't like back home after all. There was the living room, kitchen, study, usual... two studies in case one of the mages came along, Kara could deal with the runes one day. Office he thought absently, or wasn't that the same thing, and a place to keep weapons god dammit... probably a place to pracitce for the fighters that would be kept, and a place for a cart.
He absently wrote what he would need for the kids, for the people staying there, and in case of extra help.

"It's my notebook," Cindy replied back looking back at Adonai.
Her notebook didn't fill up as fast but then again it was quite special. She didn't know where her Mommy got it, but she had it since she was old enough to learn something.

At the question of pay, Ulani looked thoughtful.
"Really the best way to go about that," she murmured, "would be ... well, there are two ways. One, to come here every day your time - which would actually be, I think, monthly, our time ... or to leave it here and have Ulrich and I pay everyone on your behalf. All carefully documented, both income and outgo, so that you - as well as anyone else - knows that it's all being conducted properly."
Adonai blinked, then looked up at Cindy. "No-booh?" he asked her. "A'sat?" He crawled to his knees, then reached for the back cover of the book so that he could turn it and look at the front of it again.

Cindy giggled, "Yes, it is a notebook," she replied slowly as she put the book down so he could look at the cover.
She was sure the design probably held appeal for him.

He could just come once everyday, but he didn't want to risk that one of those days he had to go with Kara travelling or something else. He finished making his list of what he thought might be needed as he looked up shoved the list forward.
"I think I should leave it with you two, I never know if I go off travelingt with Kara or not on some days," Donovan murmured. He could check the books, it would make it easier.

"Whatever works for you," Ulani nodded, reaching forward and looking over the list. She nodded as she read through it. "Yes," she murmured softly. "That's doable."
"Then for the business at hand," Ulrich spoke up. "Who are you heading after first? The slave traders? Or the highwaymen?"
Adonai traced the shape of the moon with his finger, then pointed at the window. "Moon," he told her, his eyes wide and serious. "Big moon, pretty."
He sat down again, bouncing a bit, careful not to get too close to Cindy.
"'As you nem?" he asked her curiously, pointing at her.

"What?" Cindy asked.
It was such hard English to understand that she simply did not understand what the boy was saying at all.
"What did you say?"
