When the pair had entered the alcove once more, Victor discarded his hat and her mask dissappeared in a few moments. They stood at arms' length, staring at one another.

"Do you know why I brought us back here? Because in all honesty, I was hoping you could tell me..."
She smiled at him.
"I don't know either... but I am glad that you did."

They just stood there for a moment, their gazes softened as they viewed one another until Victor, despite his coldness and strict morals, stepped closer to her and bent his neck, embracing her in a kiss that was reminiscent to their earlier episode, in both passion and feeling.

They wrapped their arms around each other, and just enjoyed that one crystalline embrace, like a divine liquor, they enjoyed every moment of it and wanted more.

The moonlight shone in on them, casting silhouettes across the room and both, while they were hardly aware of the spectacle could feel the natural romantic atmosphere that had encompassed their forms.

And for a moment...
Victor Francis Graham had found peace...
Namine De L' Cor had found love...

Wrapped in his embrace everything Namine thought or had experienced in her life was nothing. Their earlier kiss had been only a glimmer into what could be shared with another. The intimacy and trust that developed with love. She found herself once more in Victor's arms. They had discarded their masks both unsure of their purpose. It soon became clear as their limbs entwined and their lips met in heated passion and wanting.

Feelings bubbled forth within her, feelings she could not explain without coming to the same conclusion. She had fallen in love. Fallen in love from a kiss. Fallen in love with a man who would see her kind dead. She did not truly blame him for many of her kind were viscious fiends.

Oh Victor...will my feelings for you end in heartbreak? Something in me believes so, for how could you love me when you hate what I am? She felt so at ease in his arms as if everything in the world were perfect. For once Namine was sure of something. Her heart had found who it longed for. Breaking the kiss reluctantly, Namine spoke revealing her vulnerability.

"I can see you and feel you. You make my body quicken and my breath become ragged." Namine turned away to mask the heat rising to her face.

"What is it about you that draws me so?
What is it that makes me long to reach out and hold you?"
Her hands curled up gripping the material covering her legs..the knuckles
whitening from the pressure.
Namine's lips part to issue a sigh and her tongue darts out to moisten them.
Its ruddy color flashing as it runs across her lips.
The heat rising from below suffuses her body making her want to move away. She turns to him anguish in her eyes.

"Your allure is too much and giving you my heart could be fatal." Namine looked at him from lowered lashes wishing he would smile for her. He aready had her heart so the former was a slight lie.
For a moment a shadow overcomes her as she realizes that she could not be whats most important to him.

"Maybe my emotions for you are greater...maybe im expecting to much from you.
I shudder at the thought of never seeing you again...never speaking to you again...never touching you again...
My heart can't bear it. I want to enjoy your company and continue to bask in the feelings you invoke within me. But I know we are too different. Victor could you love again? Could you love me knowing what I am?" Namine moved forward her hands gripping him tightly, her head against his chest.

Hope fluttered in her heart, a small ray of light hoping he would realize how he had changed her. She felt helpless caught in a net she could not escape.

Her lips trembled and her body threatened to succumb to the darkness that seemed to envelop her. Victor and her were not meant to be together. She thought that perhaps they could try. She thought that somehow they would be able to work out their differences. Strongly she wished to turn back time to spare him the pain from losing his beloved.

She wished that she had never been born. Coming to this ball tonight was her idea of escaping what she was and hopefully engaging in some fun and flirtation. She did not expect to be hit with this swelling emotion that Victor had brought out from within her. Since her parents loss Namine had thought her heart would be forever immune to the feeling. The pain of losing her love was a fear deeply ingrained within her. Yet fate has been a cruel master either way. It has allowed her to taste love and just as simply has taken it away. No it has been taken from her before she could even enjoy it.

Namine felt the tears welling in her eyes but she refused to cry. She had to be strong..strong for herself. They would not fight each other or try to take one anothers life. On this night and on this moment they had found each other and known that what they felt was unexplainable, but real. Her heart seemed to bleed within her. She wanted to make him hers for all eternity but she was not like her kind. She would rather die than cause any unnecessary harm. Knowing what Victor lived for she knew that could never be. If there were a cure for what she was she would gladly take it and share her mortal years with him. But none of this is to be. They only had tonight and as such she had to fill it with a lifetime of love .

"Victor..you know my emotions. I want to forget what we are and just spend tonight together. If I can only love you for tonight then I will love you till I am spent." Her emerald eyes looked into his unsurety present within them.

"Marvellous," he said, without thinking he kissed her quickly. "Well I think we should take a break from dancing for a moment or two, don't you?" He held her hands in his still and looked around. "Hmmmm.... How about we take a walk through the garden? Or perhaps you're hungry? Thirsty?" Alsvid hadn't felt close to anyone since his youngest brother died all those years ago. His brother was the only member of his family who didn't fear and hate him for what he had become. Alsvid was extatic that he now had someone to share the night with. "Haha I am sorry I truly can go on and on sometimes. Anyway, I have given you some possibilities feel free to decide upon something else. I shall just be happy to be in your company."

The sudden burst of confidence from Skyler made Alsvid quite happy. She had taken his hand and was leading him to the garden. They came through a door and entered into the fresh air of the night. He looked up at the moon and realised he hadn't really noticed it's colour until just now. "I imagine I've just grown too accustomed to the moon," he thought, "How unfair I will have to leave her before the sun rises meaning I must leave before the party is even over." He looked at Skyler and noticed that she seemed very happy aswell. "You know, not many people would feel this comfortable taking a walk alone with a vampire. Thank you, for trusting me." Alsvid's mind flashed quickly to the vampire hunter who was possibly still inside the ball room, hands stained with the blood of Alsvid's kin. "Not many of your kind would be so gracious." he thought looking at Skyler.

The pair lay there only semi conscious, covered by Victor's large cloak. Smiling, they stared at one another, despite all of the tumultuous problems and issues that surrounded them, they were locked within the moment, serenely and genuinely just enjoying the presence of the other.
Namine rested her head on his broad chest and let out a content sigh. Victor ran his hand through her long silky hair, drawing her attention to his face.
"Enjoying tonight?" she asked with a smirk.
"More than I could've ever imagined."
He chuckled as she crawled up closer to him and looked into his eyes.
"What do you wish to do now, Oh Victor Francis Graham?" She added his full name for emphasis with a dash of sarcasm.
"Let's stay here a bit longer, Namine De L'Cor. Besides, I'm not finished with you yet!"
With that he tackled her in a loving embrace, causing them both to burst into laughter and renewing their passion once again.

Victor believed he had heard someone or something outside the door just then, but dismissed it and returned to the most desirable task at hand.

Skyler faced him with a smiled apon her face. She was completely happy with this moment and didn't want it to end. But she knew all to soon it would. "Really?" She responed to his remark about how he saw the moon. She wanted the night not to end, the sun not to come up as she put her hands behind her back. Her heart was pounding, but not out of fear but out of joy. A loving happy song her mother use to sing began to play in her head. She faced him with a caring look in her eyes. "Maybe one day you will..." She said with a smile, even though she knew he could not step out into the sun. "I'll find away."
