Mine was (and still is) a Backpacker. I still play it, since it's my only guitar sweatdrop But I love it to death whee All of my strings are faced left handed, so any picture that I post of it will look backwards... Since I'm feeling too lazy to take a pic of it, here's the same model that I bought:

I bought my first guitar, a cheap Epiphone strat, five years ago. My Paul Reed Smith SE Paul Allender model is coming in any day now. ANY. DAY. -can't wait any longer- And then for a class next year, I'm building a flying V :] It oughtta' be good.

I used to be completely anti-strat and anti-fender because they were just such a common guitar and i also thought they were overrated and overused, but eventually i picked one up. And I fell in love and had to buy one. I've never held a guitar that played as well as the strat that i own now and i dont know if i ever will. sure its not the best looking guitar and yeah it is overused or whatever, but that's because they play soooo smoothly. there's a reason they are used by so many people.

A blue First Act Guitar The action was so high you couldn't play a decent song without getting buzz or staccato notes xd crappy crappy
But we all gotta start somewhere right? Too bad it wasn't a guitar worth taking care of I think starting off cheap really makes you appreciate more sophisticated models soon on

I used to say the same thing about strats before I tried one. Then I got stuck with one for a year. Now I'm not annoyed by them anymore. my opinion about them is TOTALLY differnt. Now I HATE THEM WITH A PASSION. I CURSE THEM TO THE ETERNAL FIREY PITS OF HELL! It was the WORST year of guitar for me. I don't think you could pay me to take a strat from ANY manufacturer. But to each his own... lol

First guitar i ever had was a classical guitar...cheap thing probably not even 100 dollars worth. I didn't really start on that guitar though. I started on a laguna guitar...the one from a starter pack. I must say i had my doubts the guitar is pretty sweet. The guitar has two humbucks (thank God i can't stand the Fender Squire) and it came with a line 6 spider amp which is sweet. Later on i got a Dean Exotia...an acoustic/electric which is amazing. I eventually plan on getting a sweet guitar with variation but thick metal tone. I'm pretty picky...i want a floyd rose/edge zero (Ibanez form of floyd rose) tremlo bar. I want humbuckers (emg, seynor duncan, or diMarzio). I also want nice frets and a neck that is set in and has a colored finish (not with wood...my laguna guitar's neck is starting to go slightly green for some reason so yea...). And i want tuners that are pretty nice as well. So yea thats my guitar story lol.
