"No not at all. Atleast not for till the evening. So we can go wherever you wish up till then." He did have some other things to do indeed, but would definatly prefer to spend time with his newly found friend. "Shall we then?" Marat fished his time-table out of his pocket and scanned through it. "Hm.. we are close to the English Literature class right now so should we see that next?" Marat followed Namine into the corridor.

(( Make Namine listen! ))

Jamie walked slowly to the music block. Some a**!@#$ kicked the ball over the school boundries. It was his favourite thing in the world so he was almost suicidal. He walked into the nearest room with a piano and started playing Beethoven's 'Für Elise'. It was a beautiful song but it ment nothing to Jamie. He played it about seven times over before starting on the 'Turkish March'.

"English class...hmm..I love to read poetry. Edgar Allan Poe happens to be my favorite." Namine recited some words from her favorite poem. " Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.
`'Tis some visitor,' I muttered, `tapping at my chamber door -
Only this, and nothing more."
Namine looked at him and burst into laughter. "His works are quite grim and serious. Some delve into the nature of love and the pain it causes. Even so his works pique my interest. How about you Marat any works you fancy?" She peeked into the english class after she said this. Suddenly she hard some music in and she listened intently almost as if in a daze.

"Well i prefer plays over poetry. Shakespeare's 'Winter Tale' would be one of my favourites i think. I really love his style. "Your actions are my dreams", i love how it can be expressed in so many different ways.. But what you recited just now sounded very impressive indeed. I will read it for sure. Did you ever try writing something of your own?"
Marat wasn't very good at writing poetry himself, but enjoyed reading it greatly. This was sometimes a problem for when he composed, as he made wonderful music but wasn't satisfyed with the lyrics.

Jamie slowly brought the music out of the Turkish March and brought it into blues song of his own creation. He thought to himself, 'I've got to create some words for this!' He played the piano as if he was a master and had played it for 50 years. That assumtion wold only be off by the 50 years part. Everytime he played this song, he would swear birds outside stopped whistling to listen or he was just so into it he couldn't hear much else.

Namine snapped out of her reverie. "Shakespeare is amazing as well. I enjoyed a midsummers night dream. A love triangle between people and mythical beings interferring in their human lives. I must say I dabble in poems here and there but have never thought about it seriously." Namine then recited one she had written.
"The wind lifts my hair as you lean into me holding me in your arms.
Your lips carress my neck causing goosebumps and chills to spread throughout
my body.
A sigh escapes my lips signifying that i approve of your touch.
My hand rises up to touch your face feeling the smile that has spread upon it.
How many times have we done this?
How many times have your lips on my skin caused this reaction?
One of your hands wraps tighter around me and the other smooths out my hair.
I hear you sigh the words " I love you" a gentle caress to my ears.
A blush starts to creep into my face as i repeat the words to you.
I want to kiss you so I turn to face you.
As i do so you disappear and I wake up tears shining on my lashes.
For I realize that you are not real only the lover in my dreams."

Namine smiled sheepishly. That poem she had written due to her romantic notions of what relationships were like on the surface. Namine always dreamt of having a so called love and as such expressed her dream in the poem. " Hee..hee...Im sorry It tend to become too involved in things. I would so love to hear you play the music you compose. I bet its lovely."

Star suddenly found herself by the music room, and she heard some beautiful music coming from it. I wonder who could be playing that..? star thought curiously. And being a mermaid who loved to explore, she entered the room. There, was a boy playing. Why, he must be around her age, but playing so beautifully. Star leaned against the back wall, by the door, listening and staring.

Jamie noticed a trumpet by the piano. He halted his piano work and unleashed the trumpet. He sterilised the mouth piece and started playing a great solo. He loved Wynton marsalis' music. He played it perfectly. He messed up once but anyone listening would have missed it. He critized his own work extreamly harshly. He hoped someone would hear him and check him out, especially if they were music freaks like him. He was so engrossed with his work he missed the girl coming into the room.

(( In the link it's just the trumpet I'm talking about. ))

As she recited her poem Marat marvelled at hom vivid the image of two lovers became for him. He could almost see the womans eyes sparkling as she allowed herself to embrase her dream. Although the ending was quite poignant, somehow it made him hope that the woman will find love one day. Her grief filled his own heart with sorrwo and left a tiny scar on his heart. "That was beautiful." No words could describe how he felt at that moment. He awoke as she changed the subject and asked him of his own creaetions. "Well it is not nearly as good as what i just heard. I can compose, but lyrics.. Well thats different. But thank you. I will play one of my piecees to you soon".

Star watched as the guy switched from piano to trumpet. "Wow." She murmered, almost unaudiable. She walked up to where he was playing and stoo a few feet away, still watching him.

((yes, it was lovely. i love poems, i even write my own! my friend and i are thinking of starting a poetry club..at our school, of course.))

Jamie opened his eyes and saw the girl. He jumped in fright. "AHHH!!!!.....Where did you come from?" He blushed deeply. She had probably heard the song he let no one hear because he didn't think it was good enough. "What did you hear?" He asked cautiously.

(( I'm going to be ignorant for no reason. Whats a Poem? ))

((you seriously don't know what a poem is?))

Star smiled. She started walking around, smoothing her hand across the piano. "Only the most beautiful piece of music I've heard." She complimented. She looked to him, waiting for his reaction. He didn't seeem too keen on her hearing his music. Star hardly noticed his deep british accent, either.

(( Yes I know what a poem is. I was just being ignorant for absolutly no reason. You should try it! ))

Jamie blushed deeper and scratched his hair. "Um...Thanks." Desperate to get the conversation off him he asked, "Do you play?" He noticed she wasn't hindered understanding him by his accent. He replaced the trumpet and sat on a drum stool.

((Ahh thanks so much everyone. Yes I did write that poem among others. They are in my journal on my page ^^ -blushes- Thankies))

Namine smiled and moved towars Marat taking his hand in hers. " You are very kind to guide me around this school. You also listen to my goings on. Thank you for complimenting my poem and it would truly be an honor if you let someone such as I listen to your musical creations." Namine was sincere in all she said. For he had welcomed her on her first day on the surface by introducing her to this environment and becoming her friend. Not to mention he seemed complimented her on things of interests and they shared many similarities. She sensed that beneath the surface he was reserved but that could very well be because he did not know her very well. Still she felt blessed to be in his presence. If only he knew the impact he had on one such as her...a mermaid.
