Miangel SharinganGirl Miangel SharinganGirl i think we might be going, i'm from auburn riverside. our band is tiny so look for the smallest band there and i'll be there xd We're not too big either... 50-60 or so, depending. I really don't know how many we're getting this year or how many have dropped. >>;; Oh, wow. >> It always surprises me when I meet people with smaller bands - around here, WE'RE the small band. The next smallest band in the district has about 120 people. x.x;; It's really kinda sad. But that's okay - we have fun in our tiny little band family! the good thing about the small band is that we know every one. we know where they live, what they are like, you know all the crazy stalkerish stuff. the count right now of our band (first practice tonight) is about 24 w/ me (drum major)

Our band is usually around 200 to 250 and it's a University band

My band runs about 80 people with 3 drum majors. It's quite interesting seeing how our school only has about 650 (last school year) people. We get jipped at some of the comps 'cause we have a small school, but a big band!!

Chocolate Craving Zechs_Marcese West Bakersfield Viking Redgement S. California. Were done marching because we're poor. heh. I hate beeing a poor school. Well we werent poor, then our show cost our budget. sweatdrop stupid band directer. . . Last year for our tour we went to Bakersfield for a music exchange and then housed with some kids...whazzat joo? Rancho Bernardo High School (Royal Regiment) Southern California, San Diego we're not really doing anything nowadays... xp Anyone heard of us? Wow. You go to rancho bernardo... heh. I heard you guys were ranked number one in the state. I go to Riverside King (s.cali for those of you that dont know); we ranked somewhere near 11th place (in parade)...according to my director at least.

DKDarkness I go to Ocean View, Huntington Beach CA (OC area) We're a small 1a band..but I have fun...we kinda didn't do well during the marching season though... Anyone from Dimond Bar High?? Their band is HUGE!!! I've competed against diamond bar... I cant remember how big they were though. And i dont think they were a big band.. Maybe it depends on your definition of 'huge'...Rancho Bernardo and Arcadia are huge. Well, to me at least...

Yes, I'm from San Bernardino High School, right up the road from you. Words to the wise don't go to SCJA tournaments, they'll screw you over like they did to us. SCSBOA judges are legit. Los Altos 1A Champs in marching band nuff said. We went to Los Altos Field show tournament... I cant remember what place we got though. 5A- Riverside King... Ever heard of us?

Dramore I've got 2 questions for this region, and I know the first one is asking a lot... 1) Anyone out there from the rather pathetic (but at the same time awesome) state of Idaho? 2) How many of you have been privilaged to play at Disneyland? How many times, did you like it, etc. I'll post my response to #2 later, I have to go for a while. Our director takes us to Disney about twice a year... So yes, I have been to Disney with the band. biggrin And I liked it I guess. It was pretty awesome, considering the fact that I havent been to Disney since I was 5...before I went with the band I mean.

Yes, I have played at Disneyland, in fact, last Christmas we played there and was the head of their Christmas played. GO COLTON!! stressed xd California is pretty cool. Right at the end of May and the start of June we went to play at Disney. Our band marched in the Main Street USA parade (we got to start it, that was awesome) and the Jazz band played on one of the pavilions. We really enjoyed the trip. That awesome! We never go to Disney to March....

Miangel wicked_13 what exactly is the Husky Band Day???? Basically every year the Huskies invite, oh, 50-60 bands from all around Washington to come down and play the halftime show. All the bands get the same music, and then you go down way before the game starts and practice with all the other bands a bunch, since obviously it'd take a lot of work to get that many people to play together. Then at halftime all the bands go out on the field and play together. It's really cool, plus you get into a Husky game for free. smile That sounds reaaaallly cool... You guys are lucky you get to do things like that. 3nodding
