I'd say screw a strict length requirement for joinees, but have guildmembers post a few paragraphs. Through mirror posting, this may encourage them to bring their own length up.
Of course, if we did that, we'd have to watch ourselves. People who post with few words tend to go fast, and the tempation to sacrifice length for speed may be there.

Or it could be like the Lazy RP. Let the characters develop without restrictions. Then we'd see who would god mode and who wouldn't. We'd also see how the people introduce and develop their characters.
Remember, this is the LRPA, we want the best of the ebst.
