Kaela raised her head up from her apologetic stance to look at the two men. She was surprised that he stopped that he asked her that. What could she say to him that would be suitable? It was hard to come up with any one thing. But she asked aloud: "why do you fight?"
Her voice was still timid. It was a question that was directed really at neither of the two, but something she has always wondered. Thinking about it, she realized how horribly cliche she sounded. Perhaps, she thought, it would've been better not to say anything.

A good question, in retrospect-Although, what answer he could give her, he was unsure. Everyone fought for their own reasons...although it was whether or not those reasons met the same goal at the end that determined the outcome. What was it he fought for...if not for those within the Seireitei?

He took a moment to ponder the answer-Truly, it was a good question. There was no simple answer to this. As he pondered, the faces of those who had been under his command slowly made their way into his mind-All of the battles he had fought back then, he had thought fighting them was for his own survival. But when he looked back on it now, perhaps it was more than that...Perhaps there was reason he seemed so un-satisfied with the way things were right now...And as he raised his head, turning it to look at her, he answered calmly,

"I fight for my own reasons."

And with that, he began to move forward again, pondering on his answer...All of those years, he had wondered what the true reason was for fighting the endless battles that the 79th went through. And then there was the reason for his outburst-Why was it that he felt so enraged? Was it forgiveness? Was there reason to help those that did not care whether he lived or died? He would have to think on this...

He smiled as he looked to the younger student and shook his head, it seemed his forgiveness speech to the man had gone unheard, for he had not replied to it in any way. He just shrugged his shoulders and looked back to the girl. He knew what she must be thinking. He smiled as he got down on one knee and he placed a hand on her shoulder. His black skin was much different then any other skin in this place, for even African decent did not have actual black skin. He smirked as he looked at her and shook his head. "Do not be sorry. It is not a horrible thing you have done. I am not giving you trouble, but just trying to give you a nudge in the right direction." He said as he stood back up and whirled his dual scythe, clicking it back onto his back. "But trust me, you will know when you are fighting for the right reasons...because everyone has their own, the right one is just the one that benefits everyone around you...and not just yourself. The right reason to fight....at least for me....is to protect and defend those that can't do it for themselves, and to maintain peace in a world that is being consumed with chaos. And if there is any way I can keep peace or protect the weak with my blade...I shall do it." He said with a smile as he looked at both of the shinigami beside him, they seemed relatively new, and he was glad to be talking to them for some reason.

Kaela looked up at the tall figure before her, trying to understand what he was saying about his reasons to fight. She thought to herself that she couldn't single handedly manage the burden of believing that she's fighting to defend the people who can't defend themselves; that would be too much of difficult task. She also wondered what Ryū's own reasons were. Clearly they were personal, or else he would've mentioned them. She wondered if she'd find her own reasons even though she has yet to see a battle.

She looked at the man before her, her eyes staring at him like a curious child. He was certainly an interesting looking person. Never before had she seen anyone with that skin color or markings. He was quite tall as well. She believed him when he said he fought for others, but still she looked at him like an amazed child. After all she was just a child amongst these men. It would make sense then that she doesn't understand all the reasons behind being a shinigami. She didn't understand kidou, she had next to no reiatsu sense and she had no zanpaktou. So what was her reason to even try to fight as equals with them? She hadn't realized that her reason was simple all along. It's always the closest thing to you that you overlook.

She continued to look on at the man as the wind blew through her hair making it cover her left eye. She nodded to him in acceptance as she looked serenely at him. There were really no words she could use at this point.

Kaze sighed as the wind swirled around him...it seemed to be curious. As long as he'd been alive, he had never felt the wind quite like this-Charged with mischief and wonder. He shook his head, whispering, 'I don't know what you're so excited about...it's just another day in the Seireitei here...' For a moment, his noble aspect dropped-and he once again felt like he did within the Rukongai. He reveled in it...the feeling was one he had long ago thought he'd lost...but then, there were some things you just couldn't take from a man. After the moment passed, though, his mood returned to that of the noble son, his posture straightening...it was a strange occurrence, this day, that he would meet someone like this...and he found himself wanting to know more.

"The hour of day grows on, and I find my throat to be parched...tea sounds nice...Would you care for some as well, Miss Aihara?"

Kaela looked in Ryū's direction as he extended his invitation. Unexpected, she thought, that he would even continue speaking to her. She made the mistake of assuming what might happen, something she had tried to avoid doing when it came to people. Still, she accepted his invitation.

"That would be fine." she said softly while nodding.

Kaze nodded for a moment, his face expressionless as he motioned to her down the road.

"Very well," He responded calmly, "Then come with me. We shall have tea together." And with that, he began to move forward again. It was strange, meeting a girl like her. She reminded him alot of the past, of those he'd knew. She was one who held a dream about her-Whether she knew it, or not. He would have to find that out at a later date. For now, all he wanted was to get home and try to enjoy the rest of his afternoon...earlier that day, such a thing seemed improbable...but now, it seemed that may very well have been the order of the day from the start.

He really talks funny, she thought to herself as she started following him. Maybe it was just how the people of the higher stations spoke. She was assuming again. This was the first nobleman she had spoken to so of course she would be prone to making that assumption. She wondered for a moment if that was how her mother spoke.

She followed alongside him. You could hear her wooden sandals as she walked. If a stranger looked at the two of them she could've easily been mistaken for a noblewoman; wearing that red kimono. One of the memories of her mother. As long as I don't have to talk like that, then I could be one, she thought. Wait what am I thinking? She snapped back to reality as she followed Ryū. Eventually coming to the realization that she didn't really know where anything in Seireitei was. Other than the academy she couldn't find a tea house in Seireitei's maze-like layout without some help. In fact, after following Ryū for only a few minutes she was already lost.

"This isn't the way I came." she whispered to herself. But she didn't sound worried at all. Her voice and her face were serene. She just followed taking note of the way she was going.

Kaze sighed to himself-What was it he was doing? he was taking a stranger with him-To have tea...perhaps they COULD go to a teahouse, though they didn't serve the kind of tea he enjoyed-Anything would be better than -

"Kaze, my son-Is that you?"

That...

"Oh, welcome home, my dear!"
A woman - approximately five-foot three, petite, with long, flowing pink hair - approached him as he stopped.

"Mother - Hello." Too late now...he could no longer escape.

~*~*~

"The tea is just about ready," She said calmly, with a smile on her face. At first look, her face was smooth, but upon another glance, small wrinkles lined it here and there. The signs of age-of worry and thought-had left their mark upon her. She was indeed older, but no older than the human age of 50. She had a pleasant smile, and her hazel eyes were welcoming. She had not a touch of makeup on her face, save for a light shade of red lipstick on her lips, just to add a pinch of color she would insist. "I don't believe your father will be joining us today-" And at that moment, she stopped, taking notice of the tag-along with her son.

And that was the moment he dreaded...the moment her eye's became like that of a woman staring adoringly at a mother holding her newborn baby...as if it were some cute scene from a still-frame picture...He hated that...

"Oh, my! Forgive my rudeness, I did not see you there, miss!"
She looked back to Kaze with a smirk, and then back to the young woman following him. "My manners of late seem to need a touch of work!" And as if by SOME un-seen force, his mother recognized just by a look the woman carried something Kaze had not been able to pick up on. "Oh, I'm sorry - Forgive me. My husband is fond of the old ways of noble speech, I'm afraid It's all I've really been able to speak lately." And with that, she bowed. "My name is Ryu, Sakura - I am Kaze's mother."

Kaela bowed in response to the woman and introduced herself: "Aihara, Kaela. It's a pleasure to meet you."
She still spoke softly. Maybe she was just trying to be nice. Maybe she was trying to impress the woman by seeming composed. The place certainly was spiffy, the biggest house she'd ever been in. She raised up her head from her greeting and looked at the woman. She was quite elegant for someone who was just going about her daily duties at home. Kaela's thoughts started drifting again, wondering if her mother was like this. She smiled lightly at miss Sakura as she thought that.

"Well then, Miss Aihara, I am certainly glad to make your acquaintance!" She stopped for a moment, as if in thought, and then leaned forward, cupping a hand to her mouth and whispering, "Are you by chance Kaze's girlfriend?"

"MOTHER," Kaze shouted, "I am still within earshot!!!"

"Oh, come now, Kaze, it's normal for a mother to want to know if her son has found a woman!"

stare If this was a joke, Kaze wasn't amused. He sighed, shaking his head. "Either way, might we ought be getting to the house by now?"

"Oh," Sakura said, laughing and waving a hand, "Yes yes, I was merely out for a walk after tending the rose garden. Please, do come with me!" She motioned for Kaela to follow her, Kaze in step behind her, hands folded within his sleeves, seemingly in ill humor.

kenji struggled to continue to push his body farther to become stronger he swung his zanpaktou, wildly at the air jumping more quickly trying to force his body to keep going slowly he stopped and sat on a rock. "To weak Kenji, you need to at least equal the others." He said to himself.

Kaosu laughed. "Tsai, you happen to be the most annoying man I've met." He sighed, leaning against the wall. "I don't get it. I've never wanted to pound in a person's face so badly. I normally keep myself a certain level of control, but with that...noble...I can barely control myself."

He spat, scratching his head. "I'm half tempted to follow the guy home and beat the crap out of him; for good measure." He laughed. "How badly do you think his ego would drop?"

He sighed again, looking up at the sky. "I don't think Seireitei has ever been this...tense before."

Haro grinned as he watched two walk off down the road. The man's fury had seemed to drop considerably and this made his life a lot easier. "Alright then, you two have fun and play nice. I am glad you are more of a humble man right now Kaze." He said with a grin as he turned on his heal and he walked back towards the building that the others were in. He opened up the door, just in time to hear Kaosu talking about whapping the kid's face in. He shook his head as he walked up to him and smiled. "I don't think he is that bad a person actually. He just needs to get used to how it is around here Kaosu. In due time the child will learn to respect those above him, and he will blossom into a fine shinigami, as the ugly bugs often blossom into beautiful flowers." He said with a grin as he looked at the man. "So do not go around trying to slam anyone down a notch or two on the ego level through violence, just let it happen naturally, for it surely will." He stated as he watched Kaosu for a reaction.

A sudden feeling of annoyance flooded over Rei, there were soo many other things the excessive number of un-injured people could be doing to get the upper-hand on a second possible attack from the people living in the Rukongai. For some abnormal reason, this troubled the scarred boy, and made him anxious, he had started to think it was mere paranoia, but then remembered he welcomed the last attack as it allowed him to fight and satisfy his carnal urge to do harm unto others and to possibley have harm done unto him...did this make him a masochist? Did he enjoy pain in itself, but fool himself with a different excuse so he wouldn't think himself to be unstable? "My....god...." He rolls his eyes trying to deny the fact that he had felt and thought that way, even for a moment. He turned and headed outside, where he could breathe easier.

Crossing his arms over the banister, he noticed Kenji, sitting on a rock. "Maybe its time I met someone I can fight with who wants what I.....we...do...more power..." He looked around at some of the others, conversing or relaxing for the most part. It was the only option he had, better to take it than waste it since he couldn't spot a free captain to grab a possible mission from. With a huff, Rei vaults over the banister with his Zanpaktou in his free-hands grip, landing just a few feet away from Kenji's side on his left. ".......Hey......got a minute?" He asked, throwing away the usual greeting and formalities.
