ONE
After the brief scare of seeing the green-winged creature nearly drop into the sea Soot appeared in Soot's rather quiet way next to Rune with the spyglass that Davey had correctly speculated was in the captain's quarters aboard the ship. It seemed to Soot that if something important and small was going to be somewhere, it would be in the captain's quarters. Soot squeeked around the spyglass case in Soot's mouth to get Rune's attention. And no disrespect was meant to Davey by giving it to Rune. Rune wasn't steering, and Rune also knew what the kit looked like that they were searching for.
TWO
Shoom had retrieved the tail from waters before they proceeded forward with the rest of the group, and at Hemi's distressed cry he stretched out from the shore to try and help grab her. He couldn't quite reach...
Suddenly not just the kit but the entire branch shifted and started floating along the surface of the water. Bryna was down with all four feet planted firmly on the ground, eyes squinting in concentration. "Shoom... make sure... she doesn't... fall, k?"
Shoom quickly coiled around kit and branch, the stray tail left on the shore between Zell and Squall. Finally the branch scrapped on the shore, not quite out of the water but enough that it wouldn't go sliding back in, and the silver haired Nobody collapsed in a little panting heap where she stood. She'd never tried to move something that big before. @_@;
THREE
Dachrun slowed his rolling on his jade ball and got down to offer Adumialmîr a seat on his back so she could see better. "You know what she looks like better than I do, you might see something I would have missed." After a moment of contemplation of the flight pattern, or lack there of, he nodded in agreement with her previous statement. "If I'm any judge of trails, it looks as though either injury or exhaustion began to claim her energy, though she struggled to fly on. It's likely she's not all that far from here... Perhaps I should recind my previous offer and suggest that we spread out in a search pattern? All of us in a line just a few feet apart?" He knew Damerion would go with it. It almost worried him sometimes the level of hero worship his younger brother held for him. e_e;

Davey held the ship steady in the direction of the flying creature shouting out orders for certain sails to be dropped and others set to full to capture the wind perfectly and move as quickly as possible, he had found a current going in their direction which helped them sail smoothing towards the distressed flier "hows she's flyin?" Davey asked Rune when he saw Soot give her the telescope, asking more if its the kit or not, they would be under her soon
Valis shouted up to Cedrella, "if its her levitate her down when we get closer! Be careful though!!"

Sushi had been to small to really reach the branch and kit, but was glad that Bryna was able to do something. He paddled slowly beside the branch as it made its way toward the shore, making sure to keep an eye on the kit as he did so, even though Shoom seemed quite capable of keeping the kit aboard the branch. I tnever hurt o have extra precautions, right?
As the branch scraped onto shore, Sushi walked up behind it, nudging the branch gently so as not to knock the two passangers off, but enough so that it slowly made its way out of the water. He quickly sat down beside the branch and looked over the snow-white kit, seeing if perhaps he found any wounds, not that he could heal them, but he could point them out right?
" Wonder what happened..."he muttered softly. He had caught sight of a tail on the shore too, what could have happened?

The SeeD accepted the spyglass with a most grateful look on her calm features, wings ruffling and settling again lightly upon her back. "Dear Hyne..." Rune handed the instrument back to Soot with a half frantic, half strategic look on her face though she did not quite seem to see him. "Soot... thank you. please see that water, juice and something soft are brought up from the hold as long as it does not interfere with the ship's progress. Captain! Please keep your heading with all speed if I may be so bold!" She furled her feathered wings, feathers that were patterned like the wings of a luna moth, catching the breeze and flying towards the flier. "Cedrella, just keep some of Jessica's weight up for me!" *Not only in case she has the egg... she's only a kit!* The little witch blinked catching the echo of the SeeD's thoughts in her mind. Rune could 'path? Is that what Trelweny had hinted at, the residual effects of the SeeD's Guardian Force? Blinking again the little witch made a staunch face and prepared her wand, watching as Rune flew out and beneath the flagging flier. Now with the soft green wings beneath her, Jessica's creamy body could be seen beneath her wings. She flopped onto the adult's back, clearly spent. They both sank for a moment, then Rune steadied, Cedrella's magic lifting the kit just enough. They turned around to meet the ship halfway.
two
Hemi whimpered, Baby blue eyes wide as he followed the branch. On the shore, Zell nuzzled Bryna gratefully then stepped forward to help everyone pull the kit from the river and onto the bank. Seeing Hemi take a hold of her the fistfighter back kicked the branch reducing it to splinters around her.
Crystal was out of it, but Hemi with eyes flickering in sorrow & pain picked up the piece of tail & laid it in place before laying beside his house-sister. Resting his chin over her neck he closed his eyes and began to glow softly. Soon she too was glowing softly.
The SeeD breathed a sigh of relief and looked at the others with an attempted grin. "Well... guess we wait till she wakes up." He glanced at Sushi then grinned a bit more. "Unless your fishy friends saw an egg bobbing down the river somewhere?"

Adumialmîr gave the Luck a look of intense gratitude as she accepted his offer with a soft "Thank you" & immediately began looking around. Ginny nodded at his words. "Yes. That does seem the best course of action. Kits between the older ones." She glanced at Tuuli specifically when she said this, suspecting any kit who claimed to be a princess would be like her daughters on this and prone to want to do her own thing. Yun, she had little to worry about. Any kit that could have such responsibility over a jade ball the witch deemed she could rely on to follow commands that made sense. Which in the Luck kit's case was true. She settled herself on the other side of Dachrun from Damerion, Hoping Shreya would be on her other side While Ginny made sure to keep eyes on Tuuli. Cloud, the witch trusted to do his own thing, as she had heard some of his exploits from 'before' here and there. "Okay. Fan out kitsu. Remember, Clarice is brown, with white spots on her wings. Likely the thing you'll spot most easily in this forest is her bright red nose. Fairly glows, it does."
Only it was not glowing very brightly at all now. Perhaps 20 paces away at the base of a huge oak tree. From the look of it the kit crashed headfirst into the trunk and fell the length to the ground hitting branches as she went. Now she was on her back, right front paw twitching into the air, her nose only the barest glow, wings and tails limp beneath her.

Well, yes, she was prone to doing her own thing; the kit fairly much ruled the household with an iron paw half the time, usually, when Shreya wasn't putting martial law into effect. And, naturally, this order didn't settle too well with the female, as Tuuli frowned, tempted to stand her ground and complain. Of course, Shreya took her place on the opposite side where Ginny was, effectively boxing in the blue perma, causing the flower princess to keep and objections silent for now (she'd just whine later about missing out on any potential action).
"So she is like the perma-kits that live with the rabbit girl at home," Shreya mused, thinking of Zero, as she continued searching with the others.

Aye! She'll be right where ye be needin her! and well done Soot me boy, ye done well ye have." Davey held the ship steady on course keeping his eyes fixed on the flyers
Valis cleared an area of the deck she thought was the most likely place they would land, being sure that if they slid anywhere it wouldn't be into something that might hurt

((Random little bit for group one...))
While Endless and Atae busied themselves with following Davey's orders about the sail, Soot dashed right back down the stairs below ship, hopping up to plunk the spyglass back in the drawer where Soot had found it before grabbing the nearest available blankets and some snacks and bottled juice that also happened to be in the room (captain's perks?) and proceeded to drag them, albeit one at a time, up on deck. Blanket first, then the juice, then the food. Order of what was likely to be needed first and so on.

She was not accustomed to such a maneuver, even only halfway bearing the weight of the kit upon her back. It would have been too far for Cedrella to 'lift' something larger than herself, for the witch was still smaller than the Christmas permas and also did not have their wings. And for all her maturity at times, she was still just a very young kit.
Landing... Rune skidded a little on the newly swabbed deck, paws sliding until she reached the blankets Soot had brought up. More emotionally drained than physically, Rune lay her head wearily upon a blanket. The others could take the kit from her back. As far as the SeeD could tell, Jessica had passed out from either fear or relief the moment she had seen Rune there to 'rescue' her.

Ginny glanced over the frowning kit's head at Shreya. "Yes? I mean... well we showed pictures of the girls at the cottage but I've no idea what the perma's are like that live with this rabbit girl."
Magenta eyes, accustomed to adjusting to her favorite time of twilight, then spotted the bare flicker of red ahead in sharp contrast to the browns and greens of the forest. "There!" Adumialmîr pointed with a paw, nearly losing her balance upon Dachrun's back. Small she was, but unaccustomed to riding a fellow kitsusagi. "Her nose is nearly out!" Yun whimpered beside them, guessing what that meant. "She's badly hurt!"
Hearing that, Ginny pushed aside wondering about these 'other permas' and started focusing on the healing spells and potions she might have at hand.

Three:
Cloud looked at the injure perma. "It seems that there might have been a fight. I have some healing materia that might help. " He looked at Grinny. "I don't think these wounds are from loosing control over caring the egg. I think someone might have taken it who might be a skilled fighter."
Two:
Squall turned to Zell. "I think the egg might be in more trouble then we predicted. " Squall crossed his arms and then the SeeD took off his jacket which was rare. "Here put this on her. It will keep her warm." Squall normally wasn't this care giving since he spent most of his time alone. "I think we need to hurry because something or someone evil might have possession on the egg."

Valis rushed over to see if they were alright, Rune seemed to be resting after the ordeal and the kit?.... she seemed to have passed out, Valis nudged the kit a bit to try and wake it, make sure its ok but didn't persist knowing it would be best to let the kit get some strength back, instead Valis pulled the kit off Runes back so Rune could be more comfortable.
Davey began to turn the ship around, there was little chance the egg was before them as the kit clearly couldn't make the trip alone. "Witch kit!" he addressed Cedrella "well done, now ye need to git down ere and help Valis git these two below deck, Soot show them to meh quarters, let Rune and the kit sleep in the bed thar for the trip back. As for the rest of yeh git to work!" He shouted out more orders for which sails should be raised and lowered to best utilized the winds on the return trip

Sushi's ears perked up as he turned his attention to Zell.
" I tried to ask the fishies, but they were all swimming away so fast, I couldn't even say hello." He paused, listening to Squall's words about maybe something evil having taken the egg by now.
" The fish did seem really scared of me, and thats weird, even for fish who don't know me. Normally a fish will swim right up to me no problem. But these fish have been scared out of their wits by something."

Sigurd could only temporarily watch as the white SeeD flew hastily over to the falling bird. He felt anxious and rather impatient. He felt...well, useless. When the duo returned, those feelings didn't seem to ease. Rune seemed more than exhausted as she practically passed out onto the blankets carrying the small kit on her back. Neither of them seemed energetic at all. But what of the egg, too? Did this kit carry it?
He could only catch another glimpse before returning back to work as the Captain ordered. Small paws pulled on the strings for the sails, raising them as he saw the other deckhands do. While his hands were on the string, his eyes were on the exhausted couple.

As the kits were found and cared for, their wounds or exhaustion seen to in one way or another, they stirred and woke with a start before they could be moved. At three points of the Realm young eyes went wide.
"Our egg-friend!! He's after her!!"
And then as one, though none knew the whereabouts or condition of her sisters the story poured from their mouths in rapid blurbs between their tears and their sobs. How they had wanted to play with the new 'kits', had taken one egg because it was all they could carry, how they had had fun with the egg rolling it between them in games they were sure the kit inside enjoyed (remember, these permas are perpetually kit-minded & play minded individuals). But then how he showed up. A forest-y armor-y clothed kitsu with pretty, black hair "shorter than Aunt Ginny's and not as silky", and funny bright spots on his dark tails. He wanted to play with the egg too, but the girls did not like him. They fled with the egg but the kitsu easily followed them. They fought for the egg, and when they remembered their communicators & went to call for help he managed to take them from the girls.
So they split up, each girl carrying something the size of the egg. Clarice the egg itself while her sisters tried to draw him off.
one
"I think he followed Crystal.... but I don't know!!!" Jessica whined, tears rolling from her eyes as shy lay depleted upon the deck. "All I knew is he could be after me and that would be better than if he got the egg!!"
two
"I tricked him! He followed me... but when he saw the rock.... he got mad" Crystal licked at her tail, whole again though Hemi now looked weakened and tired from the healing. "I... don't remember what happened... just... pain..." Weeping she snuggled into Squall's jacket & buried her head into Hemi's side.
three
"I couldn't look at the others... we'd agreed he mightn't be able to move as fast in the trees being bigger. But... I was tired... trees... tired... and the egg... she was heavy." Clarice whimpered pitifully, her fawn patterned wings dejected, her nose barely glowing at all. "Then he came from nowhere... I think he'd followed one of the others or he'd've been here sooner. I... *sob* he's so big! I play, not fight!"
And that was all anyone could get out of the worn and weary permakits.

Valis looked up at Davey "We need to get back to land as fast as possibly Davey! Someone's stolen the egg!!" Who knew what he wanted with it or how far hes gotten now... and now they had to find Clarice to get an idea where the guy went... maybe the other teams had some luck but how could they know for sure?
"What da ye think I been doin? Lest ye goin ta be throwing things overboard ta make us lighter eh? This girl is sailing as fast as she can." After that davey ignored the others and concentrated on steering, the question was do they go straight for haste and run aground not bothering to port, or do they take the time to port so as to not damage the ship? The egg was important but would a few moments hurt?

Sushi frowned after Crystal told her story. That would certainly explain why the fish had been acting so weird. But now it seemed that this stranger had the egg, and as to where he could have gone, it seemed liek that woudl be a mystery. Maybe he could find a fish who would actually talk to him. If only they weren't so frightened...
" What are are gunna do now? Any clues around here that may show which way he went?" He sat up and glanced around their surroundings, hopefully there was some kind of clue...
