Wrath patted the earth beside him and then closed his eyes to start meditating. Meditating was a very good exercise for learning chakra control and it also calmed the mind. Elruda had already undergone almost three and a half academy days worth of training in a period of six hours. He could only wonder what she might be thinking. But he did warn.

Every few intervals, Elruda would lose her concentration only to regain it again. It was normal. She told herself. Because I'm not used to this kind of meditation yet. But she going to make sure she does better than her teacher, that's for sure.

Surpressing the urge to snicker, Elruda turned her thoughts back to nature and concentrating solely on her surroundings. She briefly wondered if it was the same for shinobi in wartime, sensing their enemies in a similar manner. It always interested her how older shinobi could tell how many people were around them, without using their eyes.

Every once a while she would 'hear' fireflies 'speak' to each other...the soft embrace of the silver moonlight...the gentle 'woosh' of the wind and the steady breathing of her sensei right next to her. Meditating was a strange thing...the balance required and the peace returned.

Her right hand throbbed and Elruda lost her concentration again to the pain. Ignore it. She told herself. Perfect meditation means 'leaving' the physical boundaries behind. Elruda was determined not to let the pain disrupt her. And she was ready to try again.

Her hand throbbed again. This was harder than she thought, leaving behind pain. Think...shinobis whom undergo torture suffer much worse. Like the legendary Morino Ibiki and how he survived several different sessions of torture. With that, Elruda turned her thoughts back to meditating once more.

And this time she succeeded in 'hearing' nature. It felt so peaceful and she felt drowsy... Before long, the raven-haired girl fell asleep, totally oblivious that she fell out of lotus position. For the moment, nothing else mattered to her but being part of her surroundings.

"Alright, thats will do for now." Wrath said opening his eyes and looking over at his student. And to find out that she had fallen asleep. "What the hell! You fell asleep!?" Wrath shouted while jumping to his feet. He sighed and yanked her up to her feet by grasping the collar of her shirt and pulling up. To him, Elruda was as light as a new born puppy. He was one of the strongest in his village and his brute strength alone, rivaled the amekage's.

Elruda woke up to discover that she was staring right into Wrath's furious face. Realizing that she had fallen from her lotus position, she guessed that she must've fallen asleep.
--- Flashback ---
"Elruda, listen to me!" Screamed her mother. An eight-year-old Elruda paid no attention to her mother and continued to head for the Hyuuga compound gates. "Elruda." Her father began, his voice stern. "Stop right there." He walked down the patio, forced his daughter to turn around, his hand beneath her chin forcing the demanded eye contact. The raven-haired girl glared back, undaunted. "So what if I'm not good at meditating and chakra control? Those old geezers have no life! All they do is sit in one place, without twitching, for a whole day. Who knows, they might even forget to breathe!" She spat back. "I bet they are just catching up on their sleep."
"Elruda, listen. You promised to work hard during the elders' training sessions on the weekends, did you not?" The girl said nothing, only looked away. "If this is another of your you're-a-damn-Hyuuga-so-behave-like-one speech, then do understand it's getting quite cliched." Her father sighed before removing his hand and turning his back towards his daughter. "No. It's not about that. You're a shinobi. Start acting like one."

But all she did was laugh in the furious Wrath's face. "And to think that I used to tell the elders that..." She murmured. "Don't get me wrong... I'm sorry for falling asleep."
((Yup, Elruda is more of a rebellious Hyuuga. O_o No respect and etc. but she does get most etiquettes now. ^_^))

Wrath couldn't help but laugh along with Elruda. "Haha, you've got spirit girl, I'll give you that." He said a he dropped her back down to her feet. "So far you have trained your spirit but know its time that you should train your mind." Wrath told her. He began walking away and out of the training grounds expecting Elruda to follow him to the Fujiko Temple. Not very many outsiders laid eyes upon his clan's temple so it would be an honor for her but if she didn't stay close to Wrath then she would surely get lost along the way.

When Elruda had finished disabling the trap, her sensei motioned for her to follow. She obliged and he took her over the alligator manifested lake once more. They walked for a bit before returning to the training grounds from the previous day. Elruda warily eyed the pits and turned a cautious eye on her teacher, should he make a move to throw her in there again.

Wrath had lead his student back to the training grounds but he had stopped walking when he set foot on the track. He then turned around to face Elruda and told her, "Go run a few laps." And waited for her in that very spot.
Run Laps - Run 10 laps around the grounds.
DC:10 or you will collapse for one turn.

"Hai." She murmured, nodding slightly. She was surprised at the assignment, as the previous ones were much more difficult. With determination to finish the assignment quickly in her eyes, she followed the track and proceeded to run her laps around the training field.

She manged to complete the first lap. It didn't go too badly and it did not take her very long. Hah! The old geezers' ((Elruda's term for the Hyuuga elders)) lessons actually comes in handy. Who knew...? Smirking slightly, she proceeded to run her second lap.
