Hmm well it depends, if the one that lies can only tell lies, then you can always ask it, "what would a truth telling 8ball say?" It'd say the opposite or something that it wouldn't say.
however, if it can tell the truth as well as lies, then that's like... you suck 8 ball!
What I don't get is the whole riddle. "You meet a fork in the road, one way is the correct way, the other way is the wrong way. there's two brothers there. one can only tell the truth, the other can only tell lies. What one question can you ask to get them to show you the right door?" It is, "what would the other choose as their path?" The truth one would point to the wrong way, since that's what the liar would choose, and the liar would know that the truth would pick the correct door, so he'd pick the wrong door as well, since he has to lie." Well here's the thing, can't the liar just go "I don't know", and because the truth person has to say what the other person would pick they'd also have to say "I don't know"... right?
As for adoptee... er I don't know what she wants lol.

Nope, because the Liar can only do the opposite of what his Truthful brother would do. And since you're asking for a path choice and not, do you know the right way that eliminates the possibility further.

The liar can only do opposite of what the truthful brother does? Eh.. well if the liar can only tell lies, it is not the exact opposite of telling the truth, because any lie can be a lie. So if he says he doesn't know, than that is telling the opposite of what his brother would choose as the correct path. Now it depends if the one who can only tell the truth knows his brother would say "I don't know" If he knows, than he would be telling the truth if he said "I don't know"
Right? I mean every question has an "i don't know' to it, even if you're asking a fact, or a 50/50 question. Lol its like walking up to a person you like and saying "will you go out with me" and them saying "maybe"

That's why, in those situations, you just reply on eeny-meeny-miney-moe. It helped me through life.

Usually when someone says "I don't know" they are telling the truth (or in the rare instance they are just trying to get rid of you) But with the premise of the Riddle, 'I don't know' wouldn't be a viable answer.

Well if they truly knew the answer, not knowing the answer is a lie. "I do not know which path he would choose." Of course I mean I see your logic, and it provides the only way to actually..well probably one of the only ways because there's usually more than one to solve any riddle. Still I just want to add a little "why don't they do this?" and lol it'd totally screw someone over if they ever had to try and solve it. "So which path would the other choose?"
Both: *shrug* "I don't know"
"Noooo, but..but in the riddles I heard, that was the correct answer!"
*GAME OVER*

Tehn again, the truthful one would know what the liar would choose, so if you said 'what path would the other one choose,' then they'd show you, and you just go the other way.

I really like my adopter! Bru was really cool even though I didn't get on enough for us to chat, but she did answer a lot of my questions which is a big plus! Yay! Thanks Serena for setting this up!

Hmm I guess all that work means that mortal plan has probably went to waste hehe, actually knowing him, he probably built up a super strategy lol
