"Hey Harper," Manny whispered, hopping off the bed. She was dressed in the second outfit she had brought, and had been studying the view from his window. "Is anyone else awake?" she asked, not sure about the family's sleep schedule.

"Nuh uh." Harper said, cracking a grin. Surprisingly he wasn't wearing the same clothes as the day before either; had enough stuff laying around the rest of the apartment to change.
"Still sleepin' and sleeping really deep too! You hungry?" He asked, a little giddy.

"Yeah," Manny told him, patting her rumbling stomach. "We could make biscuits and surprise them," she suggested, having her mother's recipe commited to memory, "I bet that would make them not be mad about last night."

Harper thought about it, "Make them at home? Our kitchen doesn't work.." Harper thought. Nobody ever used it, surely that was the reason. "We can try, though! And I know someone who's got a workin' kitchen!" He ran over to the bed and jumped up, jumping up and down a little clearly shaving off excess energy.
"There's a 'common room' by the pool house and they have breakfast in the morning and a biiiig kitchen and Daniel let's me in!"

Manny frowned, "How'd it get broken?" Surely in an apartment like this the appliances wouldn't just break and not get fixed. "Yeah, we can try," she decided, hoping that the pantry wouldn't be broken too. She had started for the door, intent on tiptoeing out and into the kitchen without waking the two men sleeping there.

"It's always been broken.." Harper said blankly, as he followed Manny out. The kitchen's pantry was relatively bare; some bags of chips, cookies, various quick junk food and some ramen. Nothing in the name of baking ingredients at all. "Wanna go see Daniel?" Harper whispered with a grin.

"Sure," Manny agreed with a grin, not wanting to have to whisper anymore, "I can't make them here anyway, don't have the stuff." The big question was where was Daniel? She didn't think she had met anyone named that, but if Harper was so enthused about him he couldn't be bad.

Harper nodded and crept to the front door, unlocking and opening it without waking his guardians up. "He's the cook by the pool house! He will let us use his kitchen." Harper repeated. Once outside, he crept down the stairway and toward the large common room in the middle of the courtyard, relatively close to their apartment.

Manuela was a little uncomfortable in the building, but if Harper said it was okay then it was. "There's a pool?" she asked, not remembering seeing one around when she came in. That was kind of cool.

"A pool, a room with the game 'pool' and an exercise room.." Harper said as he lead her down into the room he had in mind. It was relatively busy, mostly older folks eating a late brunch and talking amongst each other, and a young blonde man man was making incessant smalltalk.
"Daniel!"
"Harper! And a friend! To what do I owe this pleasure?"
"We wanna make biscuits." Harper said with a nod, pointing at Manny.
Daniel looked at Manny and then smiled, "Right this way my lady, and good sir." He motioned for the kitchen doors. "I'm sure you will find everything you need, and you look capable enough. Holler if you need anything."

"Thanks," Manny chimed, following toward the doors. The kitchen inside was much bigger than she had imagined, and seemed well stocked. "Woah," she said, scurrying to the pantry, "I could make biscuits and gravy for the whole church with this stuff."

"Told'ja!" Harper beamed, crossing his arms. "So what do I gotta do first?" He asked, looking around. "There's one of the fridges and the cupboards and.. I'm really hungry.." He said, smelling the breakfast Daniel had cooked, trying to peer onto one of the stove tops with bacon and eggs cooking.

"You can just get something to eat in the meantime," she advised, standing up on tiptoes to reach a stainless steel bowl. She'd never cooked in a kitchen this big, but that meant it had a lot more stuff, and she wouldn't have to improvise. "Sausage or beef gravy?" she asked, since it would have an effect on what kind of biscuits she made.

"I don't know.."Harper said, giving a shrug, "I don't think I've ever had either. What's your favorite? Use that.
So, stupidly, Harper had never been exposed to kitchens too often. Daniel had tried, but to no avail. The bacon smelled good, so while it was still cooking the idiot child reached out to take some only to quickly find a lovely surprise.

"Beef then," Manny decided, "It has a more savor- AH!" She dropped the bowl upon seeing Harper reach for the bacon in the pan. "Don't do that!" she warned, "You'll burn your hands all up."
